Re: “Glad's Original Bar-B-Q

Glad's has the best bbq ribs, chicken, and pecan pie pie I've ever had. Their sides are also very tasty, especially the green beans and mac & cheese. Cornbread is tasty, but too crumbly. We try to go there at least once a month. The owner and his wife are very personable. Two things I'd like to see: discontinuing use of styrofoam plates and cups and plastic cutlery (due to their not degrading in landfills) I prefer eating from real dishes and glasses when I go to a restaurant. Also I'd be happy if they offered unsweet tea as well as their sweet tea. Despite these small glitches, we'll continue to come to Glad's!

Re: “La Baguette French Bakery-Café - Colorado

We love La Baguette on Chestnut. Breakfast and lunch have always been great, but now with their new dinner offering, we are thrilled. We recently took a guest there for dinner and had a superb meal with a top notch wine for a most reasonable price at a beautifully decorated restaurant. The only thing I'd change is to have authentic French cafe music in the evenings (such as some of the Putamayo CD's) The owner and his wife are always so gracious and friendly. We feel so fortunate to have this lovely place in our neighborhood.

Re: “Wyatt’s Pub & Grill

In the last week we have eaten here 4 times! Once was take out pizza and the rest was dine in. Everything i have had has been spot on and just flat out good food and plenty of it. The staff is very friendly and there is always someone checking on you to see if you need your drink refilled or anything else for that matter.

Re: “Ruffrano's Hell's Kitchen Pizza

Well I must say that the pizza was wonderful. I'm from New York and I know Hell's Kitchen does a fine job in making pizza. The only negative is that they don't wear sanitary gloves when handling food. They handle money at the cash register and then take care of the next customer without washing their hands. I find this appalling in this day and age when we must be concerned with infections of all kinds.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

The beer is 5 stars. 5 stars for the house brews and 5 stars for the large variety of excellent guest brews. I always have a fovorite or two to drink and a new one to sample. Food os goof, not great. They are not trying to be a restaurant...they ae supplementing the beer. Service has been friendly.

Re: “The Broadmoor Golden Bee

It is fun and corny songs are part of why it is. A very authentic UK style pub with prices that won't kill too bad considering it's part of the Broadmoore.
Good food and a great atmosphere.

Re: “Rancho Alegre/La Hacienda

Superb food and friendly service. I like that they have entrees that are authentic Mexican but not the usual burrito/taco/enchilada fare that's everywhere else. Try the pollo con arroz (chicken and rice), or any of the seafood offerings. Margaritas are fine but nothing to write home about; the usual selection of Mexican beers.

Re: “Colorado Mountain Brewery

Fritz sounds like hes upset about Andy leaving phantom or something. A salad with one green? I'm calling BS on that one! I absolutely love the grilled salmon salad. Always done right. I've had positive experiences each time Ive eaten here, so it's worth checking out.

Re: “The Blue Star

Hiring the new chef and snagging Nate as a bartender were excellent decisions. The late night menu needs work and the staff are okay, but not brilliant. More training and a little more panache would go a long way. It's Blue Star, not Jose Muldoons and I expect the staff to live up to a higher standard. All that said, it's good value, the best martini in town, and a wine list that compels a second look.

Re: “Saigon Springs

Saigon Springs is one of our favorite eateries for lunch or light dinner. The ambiance is informal, the food is prepared with fresh ingredients, value priced, and the service always attentive. Try the bun (noodle bowl), especially #141-Marinated Grilled Shrimp.

Re: “North End Diner

I've been coming here since I was an undergrad at UCCS in 1996. A fellow student, who was recovering from a DH in the Army, lived across the street and we ate at the North End often. Now, I visit a few times a year with an old professor...it's our place. Yes, it's a hole in the wall. Yes, the service can be slow. Yes, the food is excellent.

If you haven't been here, go.

Re: “North End Diner

I admire the single mother owner of North End Diner. It takes a lot to raise children and run a business, but it take more out of you to run a restaurant. I did it once and it was too demanding and customers are fickle.
Because of my diet, I enjoy eating there. The omletes are good and my husband has a great breakfast. If I don't want breakfast, then the staff will fix me something special without a hassel.
It is often true they take more time than is necessary, but I think of it as if 'mother' is cooking- you can't rush things. So yes, don't eat there if you have an appointment in an hour. And, don't be afraid to get up and help yourself to another cup of whatever you're drinking. They don't mind and I like helping myself.
What you probably don't know is they hire people trying to get back on their feet in society. So enjoy your next meal there, be kind while you let them know how they can make your visit more enjoyable.
It's rare to have a family owned business these days with all the pressure of franchises. I take people there to share the at home atmosphere and to support the dying breed of family owned businesses. How about trying them with this information in hand.

Re: “Tomo Sushi

Love the place, have enjoyed going there since finding it in 2008. Solid performance, reliable service, delicious food, and 10% off rolls during happy hour have made me a dedicated repeat customer.

Re: “Adam's Mountain Café

Great, unique food with many vegetarian/vegan options. Live music is pretty good. The patio in the summer is the best.
