Re: “The Airplane Restaurant

Awful. That's the only way to describe the only experience I had in the airplane. My wife and daughters took me here for my birthday a while back. I am a pilot and flight instructor so they thought it might be fun for me. The plane is, of course, separated from the main building and the staff has a lengthy walk to and from the main building for almost anything. After placing out order we did not see our server again for over 20 minutes. After watching several other diners get their food when they had ordered after us I asked another server if they could find out what was going on. It turns out that our server had 'had enough' and walked out without telling anyone. I worked in restaurants for 17 years, this happens. The problem is, no one noticed. They found our food which was sitting in the kitchen, pushed to the side for who knows how long and brought it out. Needless to say it was mostly inedible but not one person apologized or offered to replace the food or even the gesture of a complimentary dessert. While I was in the restroom someone dropped of the bill which I paid in cash and we left. Its not a very bright way to run a business.

Re: “King's Chef Diner - Bijou

The only good thing about this place is their chili, but you can buy that at Whole Foods. Finny thing is, it costs about $2.00 LESS at Whole Foods, versus at the restaurant.

Re: “King's Chef Diner - Bijou

You see all these people here waiting for a seat? Well yer taking up two seats and you're only orderin' one thing. So goes the $5.00 shared plate charge explanation from one of their staff. I realize the server is only following policy and didn't make the rules, and in the past we've never been charged extra $5 for sharing. I actually understand this policy at the original location on Costilla, but not Bijou. Oh well, I just had to vent. Smiley's has better food anyway.... just nowhere to sit... Smell ya later Chef...
