Heart of Jerusalem has the best hummus I have ever had! I don't usually like falafel, but theirs is fantastic and has become my normal order. The dolmas are perfect and served warm and the baklava is nommy. I wasn't too fond of the sandwiches, but the pita bread is incredible, especially with the spice mixture on it. Best Mediterranean food in Springs! Only thing they are missing is spanakopita.
Jack Quinn's is great Most of the time. The food is pretty consistently good. The Sunday brunch there is the best! I used to go every week for the Geeks Who Drink Pub Quiz, but got frustrated with the sound quality of the speakers (only hearing every 3rd word during a quiz is annoying) and stopped going. I like their live music, but its always too loud for the space they are in. If they get the speaker system fixed they would definitely be a 5 star place.
I worked next door to Nemo's and was in there all the time. They have great drinks, and are willing to make things that aren't on the menu. All of the food there is delicious! Breakfast burritos, muffins and scones (made fresh every morning), croissant sandwiches, and salads. A little pricey but definitely worth it. The owner, Tracy, always remembers me and asks how I am doing. She is wonderful! Some of her staff is a bit forgetful and don't seem like they want to be there, but if you catch Tracy everything will be amazing.
We enjoyed Firehouse a great deal, especially the brisket. It's worth a try. http://oinkety.com/?p=2112
I agree with the last review. I've eaten there numerous times b/c the pizza tastes so good. Personally, I've never had a bad experience, but I've noticed the staff tends to become a little tense when service picks up. They've only been open a couple months, so I think once they get there work flow down things should fine. As for the food. The Hell Fire is one of the best pizzas I've ever tasted. My kids love the mac & cheese pizza. Yes, mac & cheese. We all think the homemade cheesecake tastes great as well. The taste of the food is worth dropping in trying for yourself.
Our visit last Wednesday was nothing like the previous review. Owner was friendly, and gladly explained the menu items to us. The wait for the pizza was a bit long, but the pizza was worth the wait. We had a couple slices of the special while we waited for our pizzas to be cooked. The slices were a bit cool - not bad tasting though. The pizzas we ordered were awesome! We will definitely be back - hopefully he has a liquor license by then.
good food, the wait can be loooooong sometimes...
a great value for your buck with healthy meats and local vegies, good stuff!
My husband brought home takeout for the family from El Poblano last night. It was delicious. This is not standard "Mexican" food. The flags flying were from Honduras, El Salvador, and Mexico. Judging only from the food we ate, I don't think Mexico has the primary influence.
Unfortunately I can't tell you the names of most of our dishes, because he just ordered a few random things and there wasn't a copy of the menu to bring home :( But I can tell you that none of the items were food that you'd get at another local Mexican eatery.
One item was Papusas, which are Salvadoran. They are delicious and definitely not health food.
We'll go back!
Very good place. We had an excellent evening. Not sure what Fritz is talking about. The beer was great and so was the food.
We like their bbq. I love the pulled pork and the smoked turkey is great too. My husband likes the baked potato they cover with brisket. We've tried it all and like the meats. The kids usually get the smoked sausage. I'm not that thrilled with the sides. The baked beans are pretty good, but the rest I could leave it. There is always a line out the door here too.
Who wrote this review an alien! Come in on Friday nights and the locals are packing the restaurant. Do you want good food or urban stuckup. this place has good food and the locals keep coming back for more!
comfort food in the form of sandwiches!
I've been there several times -- and have always enjoyed the food and service. Evenings are always packed...doesn't matter which day of the week. It's definitely one of my top favorites. I understand why someone would consider it "flock mentality." But, it's good. That's it.
The perfect dive! Great food and fabulous service. The owner is a little nuts but is rarely there.
Love this place!!!
Try the "Margarita" pizza!
The buffet was great! Where else in Colorado are you going to get pastelles? or mufungo? The real deal. I have to agree that the service was slow. If you are in a rush this would not tbe the place to go. Other than this I give it 4 thumbs up!!
Totally delicious. Be sure to get the green papaya salad on your taco/burrito/bowl. They make their flour tortillas fresh. The braised pork is outstanding, as is the corn salsa. They make their own guacamole - none of that neon green paste that tries to pass.
Loved the food - truffle coated french fries, tempura fried bacon, tasty shrimps all with nice dipping sauces. The music was outstanding and the place was comfortable with an elegant, upscale vibe. Only complaint was the noise level in the room - lots of hard reflective surfaces and chatty youngsters.
Re: “Shuga's”
Fabulous food and drinks - great service. Live music would be nice.
