The curry chicken salad sandwich and the Reuben are also mighty mighty tasty!
I was never a big fan of chimichangas, the server (Ruben) suggested one & it was fabulous. The deep fried tortilla was crispy and the flavor was awesome. The chicken tasted just like the one my mother makes. I have been there 4 times. My kids love the food. The Red and Green Chile are authentic Mexican dishes, they are full of flavor and it shows how much effort they put into cooking a great home made meal. The presentation of the dishes are beautiful, we had the chicken flautas appetizer and it came with the vibrant colors of the Mexican flag. You will not be disappointed, and their variety of margaritas is amazing. They have authentic margaritas that you will not find anywhere else.
We were in on a Friday night; the place was bustling and the service was friendly and fast. The food was all good and, as the owner told us, it wasn't just one sort of sauce on five different items - everything was different. We'll go back again and try different dishes. The flavors were complex and different from Indian food - you shouldn't approach this restaurant with Indian food in mind, but of course some of the ingredients are similar.
I love it but quit ordering due to very slow delivery times and always getting cold pizza... it's just too expensive for that and I only live 5 blocks away... sad loss
My honey and I went last Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. The Veal Tuscano and Chicken Marsala were superb. The service, however, left a lot to be desired. Our server was harried and not very attentive. We felt like we were on a production line.
My birthday cake was decorated perfectly! However, the inside of the cake and icing (carrot cake) left a little to be desired. It was quite dry, and the frosting layers were not up to the quality i expected. However, I would still recommend them.....maybe just not that flavor. Also, the price was great.....$40 to feed 30+ people!
I recently paid a visit to the Firehouse annex out in Black Forest. Located in the back room of a little grocery store, it has exactly 3 tables and a limited menu consisting of the basics. I ordered a plate of brisket and pulled pork. It was wonderful. Juicy, served without any sauce. You pick up a squeeze bottle of your choosing and can put on as much or little as you want. Sides were good too. There is no table service, just go to the counter and order your food. Got get your own damn drink and sit down and eat some very good BBQ.
I've been to this restaurant quite a few times and have had great experiences every time! It's a small local spot that serves up some great italian flavor in every dish. Everything tastes very fresh and the portions are a very decent size. I also love their Bella salad with a great raspberry vinaigrette!
I have lived in Korea and am impressed with the authentic quality of their food, although the restaurant seems to be divided into a "Korean side" and an "American side". The Korean Bulgogi Bbque is a consistent favorite of mine. I tried to engage the Korean staff by greeting them in their own language and was ignored - smiles were superficial and not the most attentive. But the food makes up for it and I will be back again!
A quiet, gentle place overlooking Colorado Ave. with plenty of corners to disappear into with a book or your thoughts. Unassuming atmosphere, good selection of coffees and teas made a cup at a time.
Good pizza, good calzones, both with great toppings options, but the sandwiches are GREAT. Especially the cold turkey sandwich. A fresh tasting sub with "better-than-your-average-sub" bread... crusty on the outside, soft on the inside. Simple. Casual atmosphere, friendly service, inexpensive and family friendly.
Amazing food, service can be slow on the weekends but it is worth the wait. The green chili kicks some heat too. I am not brave enough to handle the red chili yet. Biscuts and Gravey are devine. Love Western Omelet,
I liked it the ppl there are friendly and the fiid was good alittle bright with all the white but good
Love this place! really good reen chili. the staff is always on the spot. i have never waited more than ten minuets for my order. i look foward to going there everytime.
Found it by accident on a real estate buying trip, ended up living here. Having lived for over 50 years in CA and eaten 5-star Mexican food, I give Amandas a 4. Good, but not excellent. Was disappointed when we first went there that there was no carnitas! How can you have a Mexican restaurant without pork? However, the rest of the menu was decent, I'd say 3-stars.
Well, sometines good things happen. Amandas now has carnitas, and decent carnitas at that, my rating is now a 4. If they want a fifth star, they need to begin making their own chips, serve them warm and improve the dipping salsa. prices are reasonable, booze is tasty, good margaritas. Parking on weekends is horrible. Outdoor dining next to the creek a plus, if you can avoid the T-storms.
Love the atmosphere. Very Southern. Food is pretty good. Great drink specials and occasional live music. Shrimp poboys and oysters is what I recommend
Fantastic fondue! Prices are though high so bring your walet and your credit cards too. Private settings that are comfortable, just hope the waitstaff doesn't forget about you once they put you in your cubby.
Go in the afternoon and take time to look around. It won't be so noisy and you can have a relaxed time. The food is pretty good too.
Re: “Dat's Italian!”
My wife and I ate there last night and this summary of whats wrong with this place is the problem most small businesses have in getting started...I look at it like this my mother raised me on good home cooked italian food and it is all about the flavoring...I had the Eggplant and also sampled the meatballs and the tomatoes with mozz/basil....
I loved it the thing to remember here is you can go anywhere and get fast food or some places to have fine dining and you will pay either way for it heartburn and indegestion from fast food and pricy small portions from a fine dining establishment...
Dats Italian is like sitting down to my mothers table and her saying eat eat...JoAnn and Dennis treat you like you just came over to their house for a meal complete with the manners and hospitality of a family sit down...I do not know where Bryce is from but in my home town if you have the nerve to eat at my table and then complain about it you may find yourself in the alley behind the building with a broken leg...italian food is about eating and having family around and Dats Italian made us feel like family we will go back often...
Thanks for the experience
