Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Gringo...I guess it is personal...I am a better beer drinker than anything else I do...but I always feel dissed and abused and robbed at Trinity. Never felt so taken at any place i have bought a beer in Colorado Springs...so I do take it all as you perceive.

Also...every single brew pub in the Springs makes generally better beer...so why be abused and have your evening spoiled when you can drink better beer and your patronage be appreciated somewhere else.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

I have not been there in some time but when I was I really appreciated all the Belgian ales on tap. That is very hard to find. If you appreciate Belgian ales you can do worse.

Tejon- I usually like your reviews but it seems like it's personal with you. You have too many entries on here and it's watering down your comments. Just my thoughts.

Jason is kind of a hippy dude, I met him when he was the brewmaster at Bristol's. He certainly has talent.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Just mentioned this to a friend who immediately regaled me with tales of rude treatment and whacko bad beer...the verdict is in.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Just to make sure my review above registers...I am posting again.

Lots of people who were excited about this place when it opened no longer even consider going...I never hear someone say, Hey I was at Trinity last night. It is an closed crowd of which, unless you are a head case, you would problem not want o be a part.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Trinity is a great place. They have high quality food and the cooks do it right. My favorite is the Griz! and if they've added the Buffalo Mac to the menu then you got to try it. The owner, whose root is in brewing, knows his craft and they make many great beers but he knows other guys brew great beer too. So he also offers the best beers from around the world for his customers to enjoy. I'm living in Germany for the next few years but look forward to returning home and sitting again at that funky counter.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

The beer is warm and too cute for serious beer people...veggi heads with dreadlocks would love this place, but how many of those are in Colorado Springs...most unwelcoming.

Go to Dickie's two doors down, have a good BBQ and a Shinerbock is my recommendation.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Horrible service. Been here twice, and both times I was ignored by the waitstaff for over 15 minutes. Would have left but was meeting people there. Took forever to get food out. The food is good- if you're into local, organic, vegetarian stuff, but the prices are a bit steep and the portions are very small. Was shocked by seitan gyro did not come with fries for the price.

Re: “Rocky Mountain Brewery

Rocky Mountain Brewery may not have the ambiance of the chain breweries but it has the most amazing staff (many of whom are volunteers who believe in the brewery and the owners expertise). I bought a Brew on Premise for my husband for Fathers Day and we had a wonderful time brewing beer, the experience has led us to brew at home for years now. The fact that the place was bustling the whole time we were there told us that these people know their beer, and we weren't wrong. I have NEVER had a beer I didn't enjoy from this place. Duane is a fun loving and genuine person who speaks only the truth about beer and that is refreshing. I am so glad I found this amazing place to talk and learn about beer. Thank you RMB for your dedication!

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

When it opened, it had potential...a few tweaks here and there...but they tweaked in the wrong direction.

It is now basically a club for some fairly weird people, and if you are not a member of 'the club', you might as well find someplace else because the wait staff will ignore you, find you simply a problem for having woken up in the morning, and a bother for distracting them from the 'club members.'

The beer is interesting if you are smoking dope, but otherwise a good Dales for half the price anywhere else in town should do the trick.

Re: “Rock Bottom

Really, how can you say much bad about Rock Bottom? This location is a pretty decent example of the chain, with a fairly talented and creative brew master. It's your standard slightly upscale pub, with appetizers ranging from seared Ahi tuna to regular bar staples like nachos and wings.

It gets a little crazy in the bar area some nights simply because it's so darn busy and there aren't that many places to go out here on the East side... if you can get the attention of the bartenders, most of them quickly and competently can make simple drinks. If you ask for anything complex, you'll be explaining how to make it.

Beer prices are great during happy hour for the fresh, brewed-on-site beer. Food quality ranges depending on the night; I've ordered steaks here and received both excellent cuts of meat and some that I sent back after losing my appetite... and that was for their most expensive fillet which came to my table fatty and overcooked.

I'd stick with the burgers and standard bar food (pizza, nachos, etc) over anything too fancy.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Trinity is unique, and Colorado Springs is lucky to have it. First off - go here for the beer. The food is good, yes, but the beer is really the entire reason to experience Trinity. (I think right now they have a Cucumber-Basil Saison on tap - if you aren't into anything more adventurous than a Bud Light, you probably aren't going to enjoy this brewery.)

For the people who rate Trinity poorly; I'm not sure what they expect out of a microbrewery. Trinity has been rated in the top 25 breweries in the world; again, for a community as small as the Springs is; we're lucky to have a place like this. I don't know anywhere else in the city where I can go get beers as wildly different as Trinity offers with appetizers ranging from thick, sliced bacon slices served with maple syrup to vegan fajitas (which are amazing; and I'm not vegan!) - anyway... five stars.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Trinity has horrible service. We like their beer, but they have no idea how to run a restaurant. They publish hours but stopped service food and beer over an hour early early, both in the restaurant and bar for the last 2 times we were there.

Re: “Rocky Mountain Brewery

i don't even know where to begin...this was a bad experience from the start.
My husband received a gift certificate to make our own beer at RMB as a birthday present. We were so excited to learn the process and thought this would be a really fun thing to do. WRONG!!! The man helping us (who never introduced himself the whole entire time) was very intelligent, but no people skills whatsoever. The beer making part took 5 hours. Most of this time we spent outside sitting and waiting, no funny stories, no beer tasting, no educational things to learn about brewing. Just sitting, until the guy came out from the back room once his timer went off to start the next step. It was really awkward. He told us it would be ready in a week. We've never made beer before, so no, we didn't question a weeks time. When my husband called after a week, the same guy that helped us, acted rude and treated him as if he was stupid, and said to call back in 2 more weeks because it wouldn't be ready until then. Whdn he called back, the owner answered, and again, he was rude and made sarcastic remarks as well. My husband was so irritated with the lack of common courtesy he just hung up on him. I would've thought they would have the courtesy to call us when it was ready, but we waited another 2 weeks to call back. Today we went to bottle our beer. Luckily we didn't have to deal with either one of the previous guys, and a nice man helped us bottle our beer, and we were feeling like it was finally a good experience. I capped a beer and noticed foam was seeping out of the bottle, when the man came over and said "oh no! That's a bud light bottle! Those are threaded and they won't seal correctly". Again, we aren't brewers, this information you'd think would've been told to us while brewing so we would know not to bring threaded bottles in. Of course this wasn't the guy who helped us today's fault, but shows the lack of care the first guy has about the customer. Luckily only about 12 of about 50 of our bottles were threaded, so we can down those before they go bad, but i think that's an important thing to tell us.
Yes, RMB has some rockin' beer, but when i want to go to a brewery, i want to feel like i'm surroinded by cool, friendly people, and it was completely opposite. I will never go there again, and i will spread the word to my friends. I think the owner is cocky and rude, and it shows in how is business is run.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

The beer is 5 stars. 5 stars for the house brews and 5 stars for the large variety of excellent guest brews. I always have a fovorite or two to drink and a new one to sample. Food os goof, not great. They are not trying to be a restaurant...they ae supplementing the beer. Service has been friendly.

Fritz sounds like hes upset about Andy leaving phantom or something. A salad with one green? I'm calling BS on that one! I absolutely love the grilled salmon salad. Always done right. I've had positive experiences each time Ive eaten here, so it's worth checking out.

good food, great desserts. beer is just okay.

Re: “BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

The menu is huge, which is usually a bad sign. The food was average - nothing special. Typical soul-less national chain.
