Re: “Pens & Needles Custom Tattoo Company - Weber

Horrible place to go!!!! My boyfriend went there to get elijah the prophet tattood. Full back piece. They butchered him! They gave him hands on the opposite sides of where they should be. The made the arms extremely disproportionate to the body, they completely left out the legs and worst of all theyre idea of a face was nothing but a dripping blob! No eyes no mouth no hair. It looks like the guy was high or drunk off his a** when he did this. He has had two sessions elsewhere to start getting this tattoo fixed and its no where even close to done. These people don't know what there doing. Don't go here!!!!

Re: “Crave Real Burgers

I've had no trouble avoiding Crave based on a review about a year ago that described monster-sized burgers with goofy toppings.

If I want a huge amount of ground beef, I'll stop at Wal-Mart and buy a chubb of it. Nor do I care for idiotic pairings and other strangeness.

High beer prices are a tip off that you're a sheep to be shorn.

If I want a hamburger, I'll go to Ted's; or Smash Burger - which is quite good. Both have beer on tap.

I avoid Five Guys; everything there is way too greasy, the burgers are bland and the fries have a burned flavor on top of being the greasiest, mealiest in town. IIRC they use a single step frying method which results in limp greasy fries.

Phatburger was decent, but they closed. It was too noisy in there, and that parking lot sucks.

I think a lot of places intend to be uncomfortably noisy, they want you in long enough to get your money then get you the hell out of there so they can turn the table around for more suckers. When I go into a real noisy place, I turn around and leave; we're not going to sit there unable to hear each other speak as we endure the constant din of lousy eateries.

Picky, ain't I? That's okay, I'm the one paying for it.

Re: “Red Robin

Been to RR twice, won't go back.

Cannot find much about RR to recommend it. The burgers are as bland as anything I've ever encountered in a burger and they glop it up with so much junk that you have no idea what you're eating....really, ketchup, mustard AND mayonnaise on a burger? Yuck!

When I want a burger that has real flavor, I'll go to Ted's for a somewhat upscale version, or I'll go to Smash Burger for the quicker, more affordable (and flavorful) version.

Re: “Crave Real Burgers

Went there for dinner last night...wish I had not. Four dollars for a Dale's Pale Ale...highest price in town. The burgers are okay, but the hype, poorly trained adolescent wait staff who can't make substitutions on the menus even if you pay more for sides not connected with your burger, the lack of good air conditioning, the noise (including pounding on pans when certain orders go out)...the number of employees walking around doing nothing made it feel crowed and mismanaged.

The Blue Star, Springs Orleans, South Side Johnny's all offer a great burger, discount beers, cloth napkins and an attractive wait staff more interested in your coming back than turning the table...and meet your every culinary need...with working air conditioning and seconds on the beer...why was I so stupid to go to a chain, all of which are awful, crowded, noisy and expensive: Smashburger, Crave, Five Brothers...go elsewhere.

Re: “Crave Real Burgers

Its a gimmick that wears thin quickly. The hamburgers are okay, but far from the best in town. Try the Blue Star or Springs Orleans or even Tony's for a first rate burger done the way you want it. At Crave they are not very flexible and the waiters are unable to swap out menu items like offering onion straws in place of fries...or even letting you buy onion straws if you don't order the exact burger they come with on the menu.

Drifters and Culver's have the very best drive thru burgers. South Side Johnny's makes a good burger...but the chains from Smashburger to Crave to Five Brothers are mostly hype over quality, noisy, crowded, with functionally deficient help more interested in turning the table than giving you a nice experience...and equal in price to the first rate places where you can sit and enjoy your meal for an hour, drink a couple of beers, have cloth napkins, and real air conditioning.

Re: “Red Robin

Take the same amount of money needed to eat at Red Robin and eat something really good at one of our many locally owned eateries...and help a small business, protect your health, and enjoy something not out of the freezer and thrown into a deep fryer.

Re: “Kelly O'Brians Sports Bar & Grill

Kelly O'Brian's is a staple in the community... has been as long as I've lived in CS. Great lunch specials, live music, kareoke... friendly staff. Most of all, they have been consistant for years... low turn-over so you see the same smiling faces!

Re: “First & Main Town Center

Why does it feel like one is being ripped off at first and main...from the bad food and attitude at Nawlins to the smell of souring milk at the ice cream store...it just feels like top dollar for getting a stomach ache.

Re: “Jun Japanese Restaurant - Centennial

I love the sushi at Jun's, but as the reviews over on the Gasette say, the wait staff is horrible...maybe the worst wait staff in Colorado Springs. They could care less if your food sits on the shelf waiting to be delivered...because they are on break or using the bathroom (yikes, do they wash their hands) and you can just sit and wait until they are in the mood...it is like a little class warfare going on.

The last ime I was there a couple of weeks ago two waitresses argued over who was supposed to serve our table, not because they both wanted to, but because neither of them wanted to...my wife and I felt very unloved....or was it a bother we felt, that's it we were bothering them by coming in.

I do carry out or sit at the sushi bar...just to avoid the bratty girls who expect to be tipped for their insolence...but even then you gavento wait at the cash register for them to take notice you are waiting.

Re: “Sangre de Cristo Arts Center

Out of the hotel control but just an FYI. Check the schedule of the performing arts complex on Santa Fe. During the summer they have outdoor concerts in their stage and you can hear EVERYTHING from the hotel. It started about 6:00 on Friday night and was supposed to end, the music did not stop until 1:00am!!! I was pissed and if it wants so late we would have been asked to be moved. I'm from Denver and if a concert is to end a specific time it ends or the police get involved! Please be considerate to those in the area who are not attending your music events and staying at the hotels, trying to get a nights sleep! My poor son woke up with bags under his eyes! I would expects more from a cultural events center!

Re: “Pine Creek Animal Hospital

Would never return to Pine Creek Veterinary Hospital. They so unnecessary tests and treatments that they over charge for. And if don't want a test/treatment done they play on your emotions for your pet saying things like "you are shortening your pets life by not doing it" or "your pet could die if you don't do this"
They pull healthy teeth to make more money when pets have dental's there and every animal has some kind of allergy that needs special medication and food.
Dr. Christy and Josh Fisher are in the business of making money to pay off their fancy facility.

Re: “Papa John's

Love their pizza but BEWARE, their location on North Academy has closed, it still takes phone calls but they are redirected to their Powers location, which THEY DO NOT TELL YOU, and you end up DRIVING AN HOUR to get the pizza. Will never be their customer again!

Re: “Eagle's Nest Wellness Center

AMAZING PEOPLE! I agree with the previous viewers -- caring providers who do not rush, do not push anything on clients and the atmosphere is warm, even homey! Lots of choices and the staff is always concerned about our welfare. Edibles are well made, accurate in the mg. of mmj, and DELICIOUS! Must have been a very disgruntled employee!! Thank you for everything! I hope that you keep the popcorn!! lol

Re: “Aspen Auto Clinic - Tutt Blvd.

My first experience with them my breaks where squeaking on a fairly new Nissan. We took the car to the service center at my dealership; they said it would be a $450 repair. We took it to aspen and they said it was just a little dust and they cleanned them for around $30. That was a year ago and my breaks are still great. When my old Dodge broke down today I knew who to call. I'm sure they saved me thousands today. They have always been up front about what I need to do and what I "should" do and why. The technician even took me back to the shop, showed me why my car died, what needed to be done and what he was doing. Bonus I had just left the gym and stood in the sun for an hour waiting for the tow truck. I was starved and dehydrated. They have a very nice waiting room filled with free snacks and refreshments. What I was sure was gonna turn into a call to the junk yard only cost me a total of $130. Big shout out and THANK YOU to the Aspen Auto team!
