i won't say my head went spinning off my neck, but overall it was pretty decent. It was actually a treat because it was the first new place i've been to in a while. So in the spirit of being generous, i'll say the food is ok and i dig the name. It's catchy. Maybe if this place can linger a bit longer it'll catch on to the pace and quality preference of Colorado Springs. (and RockMtnGuy, i dig what you've saying, but I urge you to be cautious. Lately i started avoiding Fudruckers when they stated hiring work release candidates in mass. ick*)
Great time overall. Good to finally have a decent roof-top patio in C-Springs. Friendly and attractive bar staff, but it stops there. Sadly, they aren't exactly trained professionals, which is unfortunate as it holds the establishment back from becoming a truly good bar. Perhaps a few more months for them to learn the job.
Another area which could use some help is in the choice of drinks. The selection of beers is frankly terrible. Just the typical Coors/Budweiser/Corona with Blue Moon thrown in as an afterthought. Being able to order something as simple as a mojito is impossible. For this, I put the blame directly on the owners.
Gasoline Alley is another example typical of drinking/eating establishments in Colorado Springs falling just short of standing above the rest - and why this city still falls just short of being a real city: It all just needs a tiny bit of tweaking and attention to detail to become first class. This won't happen until businesses find a balance between profit and customer service.
I would have given them 5 stars a few weeks ago but then the menu change. I have visited Trinity since the opening and thought the concept and menu worked, once a few kinks were worked out. But now it seems the concept was tweaked and so has my opinion of Trinity. Gone are the stuffers and several vegetarian de-lites (so the wife is not too excited about going there anymore). The new menu is ok and the stuffers have been replaced by a collection of the new food cliche of 'sliders'. These small 'sandwiches' lack the excitement of their former selves. My buffalo slider with carmelized onions sounded great but the 3 little charred 'meat patties' were tasteless and dry, needless to say my friend was not inspired by the BLT sliders. He had the original sandwich from the menu 2 weeks prior and claimed it was the "the best blt ever!". At least they still have the beer selection.. Change is not always good, especially these changes..
This is my favorite sit-down Mexican restaurant in town. The patio option is GREAT when the weather agrees, the service is always on, the margaritas are strong, the salsa is fresh and spicy and the food is straight up good. The portions are big enough that you have built in lunch leftovers for the next day. Try the fish tacos... try their soups... try their "chile" sampler plate. Yummy.
The location is superb. . . right there on the course. When the weather is warm the outdoor covered patio is perfect for sitting back, sipping a cold one and enjoying the day. Menu is better than to be expected for a public course. But don't expect anything too far out. Standard fare of burgers and such.
Quaint little place with solid soups, salads (housemade dressings) and sandwiches. Make sure to eat their bread with honey.
The food's good. A fun place for kids.
Lunch pizza buffet is poor.
Good lunch place. Food tastes good but they use American vegetables instead of Thai.
Friendly staff. Food tastes good but is too Americanized.
Good lunch time choice. Big selection.
