Re: “Gasoline Alley

I believe in giving everybody a second chance. My first visit was a horrible experience. The staff was rude and the band playing that night was terrible. The second visit was worse than the first.

I know I sound like I welcome punishment, but I had to give the place one more try. You guessed it........... no surprises.

This place could hold some potential, but it really needs a complete overhaul. The staff needs to be trained in customer service and whoever hires the bands need to listen to them before they pay for them. I've heard 3 bands there and without mentioning names, they have been terrible. We have some great bands in town, maybe they should get some of them in here after they fire some of their staff. My 10 year old & 12 year old play better than the bands I've heard so far.

If you expect customer service - STAY AWAY! If you like good music, you won't find it here - STAY AWAY!

Re: “Three Margaritas

Smelled like an open sewer! Not sure if they have plumbing problems or what. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants for mexican food, but the last two times we tried to eat there - it smelled so bad we had to leave. Horrible!!!!!!!! They should be audited and shut down until it can be fixed. Absolutely disgusting smell.

Re: “Borriello Brothers - 8th

Boriello Brothers has once again dropped the ball and shown that they do not know how to run a pizza restaurant.

In case you did not know, they use a call center to take orders, and have (multiple times) had the order put in a completely different location. You can't even talk to a real person at the location that you're ordering from!

Also, in response to the "real" NY pizza comments and claims...if this is true NY pizza, they would carry Baked Ziti Pizza. If you have ever been anywhere near NYC you would realize that every single place has this...it's a staple. Last time I called and asked (apparently a manager at the 8th street location) if they could cook that and they said they "could cook anything." Sooooo, I called them back and asked to order it the next day and all of a sudden I talked to some jackass (probably from NYC) manager who blew me off and said that he couldn't make it. Funny.

This place certainly has the NY attitude we have come to love, but the pizza, business model, and management can use a serious adjustment. Don't give them your business.

If you want real NY pizza, head to NYPD Pizza on Powers!

Re: “Bob Penkhus Volvo Mazda at Motor City

Worst dealer I have ever dealt with. MILITARY BEWARE. They have hidden costs and will try to sell you insurance disguised as a "Dont sue me waiver". If you read the papers they quickly throw in front of you, you'll catch it.

The sales manager was rude and unprofessional. They told us one payment plan then when the financial paperwork came, they raised it, didnt even mention it, and expected us to sign right then and there. They told my buddy that the optional insurance that you buy was a waiver so they cant be sued when he drives his car. Didnt even tell him that it was optional AND that it would cost him more money. Granted he should of read it before he signed it, so we take responsibility for the charges, but that doesnt make them innocent of dishonesty and being con-artists. They also decided that it was a great time to start bashing all the other dealers in Motor City. If you go to edmunds.com, there are plenty of bad experience reviews on these guys. Pikes Peak Acura was FAR better and treated us at least like human beings.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!

Re: “Miyake Sushi and Mongolian BBQ

Could be the least customer friendly restaurant in town! The sushi was not very good and the mongolian bbq is average at best. Sad thing is the food was much better than the service. In a completely empty restaurant (big hint during the lunch hour) the waitress took about 10 minutes to bring my wife's drink. We had a problem and asked for the manager. This guy came from the back with an attitude and shouted across the restaurant towards us. I worked in restaurants through college and the managers were at worst decent towards the customers no matter what the situation. Don't go here! If they care so little for the customer then hopefully with such a bad attitude this place will not last.

Save your money for fresh food. This place was gross! The dirty dishes and silverware...unless you enjoy yours with leftovers already included with your meal. The waitress was handling money then reached into a large zip-lock bag to pull some lettuce leaves out for my salad, then instead of using serving utensils for the rest of the salad items used her fingers to sprinkle them into my salad...delish! The gumbo was runny and bland, and the fish was extra fishy...never again.

Re: “Gasoline Alley

I went there last night to watch the World Series game. Only one tv in the place and it was turned off. When I asked the bartender if I could watch the game, she said that she already turned the tv off for the night! It was only 7:30pm, so I finished the beer that I had ordered and I went to another establishment that let me watch the game! There were only a few people in the place at the time and I thought it was strange that they were willing to turn people away. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - DO NOT GO INTO THIS PLACE!!!

We ate there last month and the food was terrible, will never go again.

The food was terrible, and the service was even worse. It was easily one of the poorest dining experiences I have ever been subjected to. Save your money and go to a Wendy's or something. Even fast food has higher quality food and service than this pathetic establishment.

Parking was tough, food was alright, but service was pretty poor. I don't think I would visit again. I'll take my money where it seems to be appreciated!

I would have given it less than one if I could. Don't waste your money!!!

Re: “North End Diner

Uh, no. -Not so much. -Friendly, but slow service. Lousy green chili-dry pork pieces, no real kick. Kind of dirty and run -down. No wonder there were seats avaliable at North End, when there was a line out the door at Omelette Parlor just down the street. Next time, I'll wait in line and enjoy a good breakfast.

Re: “Western Omelette

My wife and I treid this place based on the Gazette's review. OH BOY, the food critics at the Gazette must be taste bud deficent. To start the coffee is just bitter brown water. With all the staff hang'en out they still couldn't mustare any service that would have been acceptable. Both of our meals were over cooked, but the worst was the fact that our easy over eggs were cooked all the way threw so we had no creamy yolk to dunk the toast in. The pancakes, bacon, and sausage were burnt as well. But when the waitress finely decided to give us some service she didn't even notice that either my wife or I had touched our food. I wouldn't recommend this place for breakfast at ALL.

Re: “The Curry Leaf Restaurant

It's hard to imagine a good experience at this place as the two times that I walked into the 'restaurant' it smelled of cleaner, not anything South Indian spice or otherwise. We were greeted at the door by a white guy who looked like he did not want to wait on one more table, which would be understandable, except there was only one table of diners there. The ambiance includes a few tables that look like they were leftovers from a closed fast-food chain did not convince me to linger once my friend and I decided to order, in spite of the lack of cooking smells. We tried ordering two things off of the menu, which they were "out of" but we were told to come back again to try them as they were diner favorites. I really, really wanted to like this restaurant. I love Indian food and was happy that a Sri Lankan restaurant had opened up in Colorado Springs. But I did not have the experience that others describe and I will not be back for a third chance to change my mind. India Palace, here I come.

The game days have gone down. I used to frequent every game but no more the wings were sent back twice and the beer was flat.

Posted by larry on 10/20/2009 at 5:52 PM

The wait staff was terrible. The location is good and the beer is good as long as it is cold but when you have help like this it ruins the ambiance. The food was mediocre at best.

Posted by CowTipper on 10/16/2009 at 9:30 AM

My order came complete with peices of tin foil stuck to the meat, must be some sort of yummy extra flavoring. My date's meal came out b/4 mine was served. The side dishes were cold, the service eratic.

I have used this place several times for lunch and 4 times for catering. The first time, shortly after opening I ordered for 20 folks - great food - great service - plenty of food. The second time and third I ordered for 15 people - food still good but barely enough to go around. The 4th time I ordered for 21 people - suppose to get 8 pounds of meats. Did not feed half sufficiently. I will bet a pound of salt that there was not 4 pounds of meat. The food is tasty with exception of the chicken, but they have really cut back on portions. I will not trust their catering again.

Trashy, low class disgusting place.

Re: “Borriello Brothers - 8th

If you like cold and then nuked pizza, this is your place. I prefer an environment that has a bit more class then some fast food joint. I had to go next door to 7-Eleven when i was done eating to get a candy bar to get rid of the bad after taste.
