This place is okay if they could keep their best strains in stock more frequently. The girls are way more knowledgeable than the guys- they really need alot more training to make sure they are giving the right medical advice to the patients. Top Employee= DONNA!!! Ask for her-she really wants to make sure you leave with the right medicine.
The food quality and the service is just not holding up to history of this place. People mention the wine list, but in this day and age, I can have any bottle of wine I want dropped at my door for 1/3 the price. If I'm going to pay the premium for the food and wine, I expect good service. Unfortunately, I believe the blue star has lost the edge in the service arena.
Went to the location in University Village. Very good lasagna, however the wood oven pizza was only average, as the toppings just did not have enough flavor and the crust wasn't quite right. $28 for a two person lunch is also on the high side.
Wahoo - the paper plates are gone. I've had both the schnitzel ($8.99) and the rouladen ($8.99) there recently and found them both to be good. Cannot go to four stars though, as I really wanted a draft beer to go along with them.
Lived in the Springs for 30 years, but moved to Albuquerque about 10 years ago- was back to visit friends/family and started missing my chile fix, so thought I would visit what was one of my favorite 'mexican' restaurants. Kinda surprised at the change-over to this new place but 'what the heck, might as try it as long as i was there'. Loved the ambience and the wait staff was great. The food - not so much. Thought it was overpriced and so-so. Maybe I have gotten spoiled eating some really great southwestern/new mexican food in 'el Burque'.
Sadly I can't fully agree with the previous reviews. The edibles are delicious but the prices for medicine are too high. 35$ and eighth out the door isn't very attracting. They need different shelves with different prices. No new patient specials and no members benefits worth signing a caregiver over. The joints are mediocre and not worth the money. I'd much rather drive down to the springs where I actually have a selection of something that works in my price range. They NEVER update their menus so I never get to see any strains they have or prices. I don't feel happy or comfortable going in there not knowing what I want and my total being way more then I expected... Free popcorn and drinks doesn't pull me in considering I come for the meds. Put out a 25$ shelf for those strapped on cash and I MIGHT consider coming back and writing a better review.
Great food from the kitchen, but the out front organization is a total failure.
They told me one time they had no seating available when there was only one table occupied...when I pointed that out they said that one of the wait staff didn't show up and they could not service the remaining tables.
This place, especially without a beer license (who eats curry without beer) will be vacating this space like every other eatery that has been here.
Smily's, at the same time, continues to flourish.
Good place with usually good music. Open mic Thursdays pretty much sucks. Bartenders are friendly (Hi Jamie Hi Ashley) until 2 AM then you better go! Hey they wanna go home! The smoking area is freezing in the winter. Men's room is small and smells. Deck out back is okay. A better sound system would be nice.
More of a talk station than a news station, but they do have the best radio newscasts in the area. KRDO and ABC News go a lot better together than KVOR and ABC.
Good conservative lineup, but below average local news coverage (compared to KRCC and KRDO). And does the Springs really need 2 ABC News radio stations?
I would not call this an authentic Cajun eatery, but it isn't a bad place to go if you have time before your movie starts in the same strip mall. I've been here three times, and it's not great, but it'll do. The green chili is really good, but really spicy and I would say get a bowl for dinner. The alligator bites were VERY greasy, I'm not sure if that is normally how alligator tastes. I was not a fan of the red beans and rice- the beans were undercooked to my liking. The gumbo was good- not great, but does in a pinch. Great service even in a "seat yourself" venue.
So you park your car, then you walk across the field and then you can walk up to the top of the razorback ridge. Once there you get a great view of the mountains to the west but watch out, it feels like a cliff.
Always a tough choice to go here or not. By far the best seafood in the springs. However it will be an hour before you get your food, and the waitstaff will not check on you unless prompted. If Mr. English would hire a real staff instead of relying on family this place would take off.
The girls are pleasant, informed and the company supplys high quality bud.
did i mention there cute too!!! :D
What can ah say.
I just had lunch at the restaurant. It was quiet when I walked in, butfilled up soon thereafter. The soup was as good as ever; the wheat roll was heated, but was definitely fresh. The coffee was not as good as it has been. Some investigation indicates that it is the same owner, but with loss of identification as a "La Baguette" in Colorado Springs, there is a more than subtle loss of some of the ambiance that had made it a "fun" place to go.
decent medication but when the coupons end so dose the feeling of value. I signed them over to get all the deals that were nice, but then they refused me because my card expired, but i still got to fill out my paperwork as a renewal. wierd guys but the girls are cool...
It would be awesome if they could hire an actual busperson who would actually clean the tables with disinfectant - I try not to think about when I eat there. Yuk.
Member discounts don't kick in until you purchase a quarter or more... Seems a little profit focused in my book.
Can be charming, depending on who's there and who is playing in the band. Incredible players like Wayne Wilkenson on guitar are there on occasion, but then some wannabees always seem to show up. The most forgetable-the highly over-rated Bruce Pennington on piano.....ugh..... Seriously, if I hear another cliche' "Liberace"-like scale run from the keys i'll jump out a window. As long as there is a variety rotation in play, this place is worth checking out... but beware the afor mentioned lounge lizard act.
