If you didn't enjoy the food maybe you should not of gone back 3 times? My family and I have eaten there multiple times and the food has always been just what we expected and more. The service at Freddy's is on par and they are always quick to meet our needs. I'm sorry you have such an awful opinion about Freddy's hopefully it made you feel better to bash them on here.

I've always had GREAT food there. I've been going there for years. My wife and I set in the Plane, but when we're in a group(10-15 people)we set in the Resturant.

The Indy didn't give King's Chef a Best Of Award; the Indy READERS did. It's a democratic process that involves voting so KC must be doing something right.

I agree with the last comment. A lot of whiners that are trying to compare local good food restaurants with their accustomed fast food life stlye. If every whiner on this blog would have contacted a manager I sure their pathetic complaint would have been handled.. Most of these people could not even boil water. Meanwhile I going for some green Chili at the diner

I love all these whiney complaints about the Chef. No credit cards? Bring cash. Only thing good is the green chili? Take that silver spoon in your mouth out. Can out cook King Chef Chef Davenport? Huh...I never heard of you and you arent up there with any of the great chefs in town. Maybe you should prove it to us and open your own joint.
The Chefs got what all you cry babys don't...soul. Maybe ya'll should go back to Golden Corall where the great Chef Davenport is out cooking all our great downtown independent restaurants for only $9.95 for the all ya can eat buffet.

@ Joshua, if you think $9.50 for a 1 POUND burger (a double) is expensive, you need to go back to farmtown USA. Their regular (1/2 pound burger is $5.50). http://thinkinbinary.com/King/Menu.pdf Lesseeee..... a 'Double Quarter Pounder' Meal at McD's is about $7.50, so the same price for inferior food. Who sucks now?

Y'all ought to lighten up. King's Chef is classic, if not classy. Have some fun! And besides, the only language that'll hurt those little kids is not knowing the difference between "your" and "you're".

When you go, pack your sense of humor. Politically, the owner and I would agree on the necessity of breathing, but that's about it. That being said, he has always treated me and my family, even my two year-old, who can be handful, well.

Only been a handful of times for breakfast, but so far so good! I've never had a problem with them, and even though the prices did go up a bit, I still love the food and especially the green chili!! Great breakfast items!

Thank god they're finally open late nights friday and saturday! The same great food and atmosphere we've enjoyed during the day for so long at a time when some great food and great coffee are especially needed.

I wasn't keen on leaving a comment until I saw the negative ones which QUITE surprised me. Since I have tried so much on the menu I feel compelled to take a moment of my time to share my experiences. I find the food over all quite lovely and take coworkers all the time. Neither the drinks or the food are too pricey at all which makes it nice for lunch, dinner or just drinks after work. Not a lot on that area of town that I want to frequent so thank goodness for this restaurant/bar being here because there are many of us DoD contractors in the area... The wait staff is fine but just like any other place I have had the great and attentive serve us and the aloof bimbo paying all her attention to the military groups or single young men.... Nothing that would make me stay away though. The ambiance is priceless... always shocked it is not packed.... but again who wants to hang out after hours in this less than desirable area when you can go elsewhere in town? I will keep going back... and keep taking coworkers, friends and family. I KNOW it would be horrible to see it ever close... that is for sure.
