Re: “The Kitchen

Was lovely food; prepared nearly as desired. Husband had the K' quiche that was slightly under-cooked, that will be requested to be more done in the future. Wife had omelette with cream cheese as one of the two included ingredients, so as to get the fried potatoes, to near the requested crispiness. Shared a side order of bacon. We both brought books to read, as we always do, and were well rewarded after the wait. We left properly satisfied. Went 3/8/15, while they were short staffed.

Re: “Dat's Italian!

The food is excellent, but for the smaller portions you get, perhaps a bit overpriced. Service is a little slow.

Re: “Hollywood Theaters - Interquest Stadium 14

bowling alley, yet proximity, still defines strategic estate purchase to the location

Re: “The Mason Jar - Colorado Avenue

Had the prime rib twice....once great and the next time it was only ok. I have to try the chicken fried steak next time.

Re: “Ivywild School

This old school building in a residential neighborhood is a cool setting. Good food and great atmosphere.

Re: “Red Rock Lounge

I've just started going there and I didn't have that experience at all.

Re: “Tomo Sushi

Excellent food and service; never had a bad meal here. Their "Bento Boxes" are a little pricey, but you always have enough to take home for a lunch the next day because they are so generous with their portions. Hot tea is always piping hot, and sushi always very fresh! sushi quality is 5 star!

Re: “New Age Medical - Space Village

I visited your store only once but I'll be back to sample other Indica's. Your "White Fire" was excellent however "Death Star" was just that to me. Nothing. See you soon. Don

Re: “Coquette's Bistro and Bakery

Went to the new location on North Tejon for a Saturday evening dinner. The food was tasty and the servers were well-informed and attentive.

Lots of real flavors, interesting combinations, and suitable portion sizes for the price ($9-$23). Our group liberally shared a representative set of dishes, thus I was able to find several things that I would partake of on my next visit. I chose the pan seared duck, which was perfectly cooked and well paired with the sweet potato/parsnip puree. The desserts were also rich and delicious.

My only complaints concern breaking in the new location. The dim interior made the miniscule text on the 1-page menu VERY difficult to read, and you'll have to raise your voice to have a conversation in the somewhat noisy dining area. Nevertheless, this is a place worth re-visiting.

Re: “Stir

Cool, hip coffee shop that's a wonderful alternative to you know who.

Coffee is great. My pecan pie was right out of the oven, warm, sweet and gooey.

Order at counter, take your selection to a table. Outside seating too. Not pricey.

Yard sale coffee cups and flatware, funky old metal lawn chairs from the 1940s, in a renovated gas station ... recycling and re-purposing at its best.

Girl at the counter was friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Free Wi-Fi and parking.

In the Old North End Neighborhood (ONEN), in the BON Shopping Center, at corner of Jackson and Wahsatch, a few blocks from Penrose Hospital just off N. Nevada Ave.

Closes at 3PM most days. I'll be going back.

Re: “Cafe 225 Coffee Shop and Venue

new, clean, and warm inside. I ordered a vanilla latte which was steamed by the barista, not a machine, which I prefer. They have a conference room for rent which I plan to use for casual meetings with new clients. I would recommend this cafe to friends.

Re: “Rudy's Country Store and Bar-B-Q

Great food and atmosphere. The meats are tender and true to expectations of Texas Smoked BBQ.

Re: “Fifty Fifty Coffee House

I had lunch at Fifty Fifty Coffee House last month. The Pressed Turkey Sandwich was delicious and the Fifty Fifty Iced Coffee is addictive (I had 2). The service was also great, and I loved the atmosphere. I will be back.

Re: “Colorado Mountain Brewery

Ate there again today. The place continues to improve; I give it 4 stars as I reserve 5 star status for places like the Broadmoor.

My wife's Fish and Chips were nothing short of awesome, the 3 large pieces were each a good 8-inches long and thick, the crust was crisp and not oily like so many places, and the french fries were addictive with their amazingly thin coating, staying crisp to the end.

My caesar salad had great grilled shrimp that were perfectly done.

The chocolate torte dessert is enough for several people and a must for chocolate fans.

Lastly, one way I judge eateries is by the quality of their restrooms, and CMB has about the nicest, cleanest restrooms I've ever seen.

You won't be disappointed here. Go.

Cheap booze, nice staff. Usually close to empty though. This is great for a friendly social time but not a good place to looking for a new spouse.

Re: “Tong Tong

Tong-Tong is my go-to Korean restaurant in Colorado Springs. The service has always been outstanding, with attentive, friendly servers that go out of their way to make you feel at home. They have always been ready with a smile and a suggestion of what I should try next. The food is likewise outstanding, with the wide assortment of soups being particularly good.

Everything from standards like bulgogi (thin sliced marinated beef) and japchae (a sweet potato noodle dish) to more unusual dishes like sundubu-jjigae (a spicy soft tofu soup) are served sizzling in their dishes and incredibly good. Unless you ask for it spicy, the level of hotness is under control, so this non-Korean can enjoy it without sweating the whole time.

I would suggest trying it at lunchtime, as their lunch menu has most of the standards at substantially reduced prices (around $6.99 for most). Even at lunch, you receive a wide assortment of traditional side dishes with your entre. The staff will gladly refill any of them if you ask for more.

The only knock on this place (and the only reason I didn't give it five stars) is that it could use a good remodel. The carpeting is worn in many places, the booths and tables have seen better days, and the restrooms, though clean, need some maintenance work.

Still, that shouldn't deter you from trying this place. Before you know it, you'll be a regular like me.

Re: “Christal's - Austin Bluffs

I had an awesome experience here!!! If it weren't for the owner I never would have survived my first day stripping. She not only set me up with some great stuff but also gave me inc-readable advice that saved my life that day. TOTAL LIFE SAVER. I would recommend to every one. (Oh and she even let me use the bathroom!!!!) Maybe you were just rude? Eh its standard procedure to see anybody's ID when entering an adult store. (duh)

Re: “Front Range Barbeque

Front Range is sadly underrated for their wonderful marriage of very very good food and quality music. No words can describe their delectable meals. And whoever books their bands really know what they're doing because we've seen some great acts come through here, most of them traveling from afar. Not sure why they advertise it as "southern rock" because musicians have come from Philly, Boston, etc., and have a wise variety of soulful sounds. If you want excellent food from a restaurant that has great taste in music, this is the place to be.

Re: “King's Chef Diner - Bijou

As a former Palmer student and frequent down-towner, there is nothing bad about KC that isn't wrong with any other downtown breakfast place. My potatoes have never been burnt, and I have never heard the staff curse. I've been earing here for three years. It is a DINER, so the food is bound to be greasy, but nothing compared to a place like Taco Star, for instance. I've had everything on the menu. All the bad reviews must be from some really sophisticated eaters, because to a normal person who doesn't get fresh herbs for her food everynight, this place is good.
