Re: “SouthSide Johnny's

One of the best bands around! Jake has his own style, plays great music and puts on one hell of a show. Go Jake!

Re: “Music Street Tavern

The service and the music is great. The pool table is a great addition along with the beer pong table. But check out the bartender/owner Mike. Talk about hot! Look out girls here he comes!

Re: “Nosh

Nosh's lunch menu was updated since the last time I had visited and it took me twice as long to order as I wanted to try EVERYTHING. I settled on a cup of squash and apple soup (although their new option for a soup trio was tempting) and their Brussel Sprouts with polenta, candied lemon zest, manchego and a Korean sauce/condiment called Kochujang. I was not disappointed. The soup, especially, was divine... the brussel sprout dish a nice mix of sweet and savory and good textures. Unfortunately we were too full to try dessert so no report there.

On my 'to try next' list: the roasted cauliflower plate with garlic, miso and caramelized onion and the chicken pistou sandwich. GREAT service - especially if you get Aspen.

Re: “Oscar's Tejon Street

Stopped in to Oscar's for a late lunch last week and a Black and Blue Burger with home fries. It was darn near a 10! One of my favorite places to stop when Im downtown.

Re: “Oscar's Tejon Street

@ Ishhod -- get the real story about the "physical altercation" before repeating your slander. Granted I'm a fan of Oscar's and I've gotten the full story from Phil (the "OWNER") and I've been at the bar when the "female" in question has called well intoxicated to scream at the employees. Get some facts behind that story. Oscar's rocks -- go for the killer burger!

Re: “Cowboys

Born in Texas and love to dance to country music, if you feel the same way, this is the best place I have found. The karaoke room is awesome fun and there's just so much to do there. Owned and operated by great people, service is awesome, great place!

We spent New Years weekend here and had a really great time. Best New Years eve we had in a long time with the Riders, the cowbelle guy was awesome. Then Nick Moss and finished off the weekend with Jeremy Vasquez on Sat. What a great place for music.

Re: “Mile High Saloon

The Charity event that was held this last friday was unfortunately unsuccessful but only because the hip hop group that threw the event did not even bring ONE DONATION to the event!! The catered food was delicious, and was ended up being given to all the bar patrons that normally go there for them to enjoy. Though the manager was a little ticked, she had reason to be, and the only people that were treated in any manner other than professional and with the utmost best were the doosh bags that tried to throw the event without even providing anything to there charity. The bar donated al their stuff plus has started a food drive since then, and it has always been a pleasant experience. The only bad experience was this hip hop group which they fired halfway through there show because they were bothering so many customers!! Thankyou to the staff working there for noticing that everyone disliked them and providing more likeable talent. We will definatley be back, for the only bad thing that was there is now gone!! I know for a fact that the peons that posted this were just the angry gangster wanna be rappers that were angry the workers asked them to leave!!

Re: “The Bookman

Because of journalistic integrity, I shouldn't in good faith say that Bookman is the best book store in Colorado Springs. That would be irresponsible, it would be biased....and it would be true. Walk into Bookman, and you will be assaulted by the nostalgic odor of countless dusty volumes: from leatherbounds to paperbacks, covering every subject imaginable. I have been a regular customer for years. I highly recommend you pay a visit to Bookman, and be sure you take some of your old books to trade in for store credit. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and are also very knowledgeable in the field of literature. Because so many people bring in books for trade, their inventory of books is constantly changing. Because of this, you can pay countless visits to Bookman, and I guarantee you will find something that you haven't seen yet.

In my opinion, used books are the best books. There is no where in Colorado Springs with as fantastic and as varying of a collection as Bookman, and this is why they are undoubtedly the best book store in town.

Re: “Music Street Tavern

Great service, next up and coming neighborhood bar! The bartender, Joel, is awesome (and hot) and makes excellent drinks at a wallet-friendly value. Great new venue for any kind of the local or out-of-town music scene. I will definitely go back on a regular basis.

Re: “Black Sheep

Wow, wow, wow. I won passes to the Minus the Bear show at the Black Sheep from the csindy and I am still in awe. The three bands were all very good. As Tall As Lions and Minus The Bear were outstanding. The staff are very concientious and controlled the audience with skill, not as easy a task as some people might assume. The audience, on the whole were very polite but pretty stiff - saw some swaying but no dancing which is a shame because each group performed extreemly danceable music.
Overall I give the evening five stars.
