Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

The beer is warm and too cute for serious beer people...veggi heads with dreadlocks would love this place, but how many of those are in Colorado Springs...most unwelcoming.

Go to Dickie's two doors down, have a good BBQ and a Shinerbock is my recommendation.

Re: “Arharn Thai

I have not had a bad experience here yet and I've been here about a dozen times. Quick service, and very reasonable prices and large amounts of food. The crab rangoon is delicious, and I love their sweet and sour sauce. Noodle and curry dishes great, but i feel they spice down to what you ask. Last time I asked for thai hot and it didn't seem super crazy hot and spicy.

Re: “Nawlins BarBQ and Seafood

I would not call this an authentic Cajun eatery, but it isn't a bad place to go if you have time before your movie starts in the same strip mall. I've been here three times, and it's not great, but it'll do. The green chili is really good, but really spicy and I would say get a bowl for dinner. The alligator bites were VERY greasy, I'm not sure if that is normally how alligator tastes. I was not a fan of the red beans and rice- the beans were undercooked to my liking. The gumbo was good- not great, but does in a pinch. Great service even in a "seat yourself" venue.

Re: “Sabores del Peru

Excellent! The fried seafood was unbelievably good. They are now open in their new location cited at the top of this message ... we just ate there this month (Oct 2012).

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Horrible service. Been here twice, and both times I was ignored by the waitstaff for over 15 minutes. Would have left but was meeting people there. Took forever to get food out. The food is good- if you're into local, organic, vegetarian stuff, but the prices are a bit steep and the portions are very small. Was shocked by seitan gyro did not come with fries for the price.

Re: “English Dockside

the best seafood in town is at Bonefish...the menu on this place's bad website isn't even tempting...and no lobster roll is listed.

Who wrote this review? Did they even go to the restaurant?

Re: “English Dockside

Always a tough choice to go here or not. By far the best seafood in the springs. However it will be an hour before you get your food, and the waitstaff will not check on you unless prompted. If Mr. English would hire a real staff instead of relying on family this place would take off.

Re: “La Carreta Mexican Restaurant

A popular spot for public officials means we are paying for it without even eating there...

Re: “Rancho Alegre/La Hacienda

Absolutely terrible, ordered tacos and quesadillas over the phone, waiter said "see you in 5 minutes" and hung up without giving me my total. Got there and my food was already waiting on the counter, staff seemed friendly enough I even left a 25% tip. got home (6-7 mins later) tacos were so soggy that they fell apart, looked like they were reheated in microwave, and tasted horrible, and not only were the quesadillas soggy, I asked for plain and they gave me regular, and chicken was lowest grade I've ever seen, similar to the tasteless pink chunks you get in off brand chicken noodle soup. We tried to eat it, but it tasted too bad. Taco bell is 10 times better than this garbage and that is saying a lot.

Re: “La Carreta Mexican Restaurant

Absolutely great mexican food!! Try Combo #5 with verde sauce to get a taste of everything. They also have the best dessert i've ever had, a cheesecake chimichanga with cinnamon and honey. The sopapillas are awesome as well. When ever friends come to town this is the restaurant we go to.

Re: “Roman Villa

Get there early...even the huge parking lot fills up let alone the 14 tables....but absolutely delicious....a simply read menu, that has within it everything you can imagine. The staff is friendly and hard at work...the pizza is the best.

Re: “Front Range Barbeque

Very good pulled pork sandwich with Mom's Corn and Pea Salad (think 3 bean with lots of upgrades). They have a great selection of beers on tap as well bottled brewery beers. Service is always great and it's a good family atmosphere. Yup, there's lots of kids. They are people too & generally better behaved than any most impaired adults.

We saw "Swamp Cabbage perform all original music. They advertise themselves as Blues band but that was less than half of what they performed. Not the best band I have ever seen at Front Range, but decent musicians in the Southern Rock tradition. Their equipment was not sufficient to give them a full sound and it's a small area that you have to fill with sound. They were on their 10th show in 11 days and had to drive from Ogden Utah but hey...that's the job. Bring it or take a day off. They seemed to complete their sound check during the first set despite having set up an hour before they started. Unprofessional at the least.

For whatever reason, Front Range gets lots of touring bands, blue grass, folk & singer-songwriters. Many seem to play at the Telluride Blues and other festivals the week before or after. So you see acts for usually no cover that people just paid $60 to see.

Re: “Jun Japanese Restaurant - Centennial

Jun distributes the Indy but doesn't read it...gave it another try this week and although the sushi was perfect, the waitresses are entitled brats who ought to all be fired...best just do carry out and limit your exposure to the wait girls.

Re: “Rocky Mountain Brewery

Rocky Mountain Brewery may not have the ambiance of the chain breweries but it has the most amazing staff (many of whom are volunteers who believe in the brewery and the owners expertise). I bought a Brew on Premise for my husband for Fathers Day and we had a wonderful time brewing beer, the experience has led us to brew at home for years now. The fact that the place was bustling the whole time we were there told us that these people know their beer, and we weren't wrong. I have NEVER had a beer I didn't enjoy from this place. Duane is a fun loving and genuine person who speaks only the truth about beer and that is refreshing. I am so glad I found this amazing place to talk and learn about beer. Thank you RMB for your dedication!

Re: “Nawlins BarBQ and Seafood

AWFUL! The service was terrible, our server was more concerned with finding a cell phone charger and chatting with other servers than doing her job. We never received the cornbread we wanted as they were out of it (at 5 on a Friday) and then were given terrible hush puppies as a replacement that we did not want. The sausage platter was WAY too spicy, I'm sure that was to hid the tough, overly fatty sausage. The pulled pork was tasteless, very fatty and gritty, and cold. Both my husband and I had food poisoning from eating there. I have found that others had the same experience. I don't know how anyone feels they are having a good experience here unless you are drunk when you arrive. (You'd have to be drunk before you arrive as the server will NEVER come back to see if you want another drink once you've ordered one.)

Re: “Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato

This place is the last place I would go for ice cream. Everything behind the glass counter looks past it's expiration date.

That's not as bad as the flavors...they mix two good flavors, like butter pecan with Oreo cookies...yuk.

It costs an extra dollar to put your four dollar single scoop into a cone instead of a cup with a small plastic spoon.

Interestingly, if you watch folks coming in, more folks check the scene and leave without ordering, than actually order and leave with a cup or come.

Re: “Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato

I LOVE this place! Good prices, Amazing gelato and incredible ice cream. You can sample any ice cream and they are quite knowledgable about what they serve. Plus, they have very kind employees.

Re: “India Palace

My family and I used to love eating here regularly for the past 10 years under several new owners, love the food, however the most recent new owners were EXTREMELY disrespectful and rude to me and my entire family. We are RETIRED military, therefore did not get the 10% off, but pulled out our cell phone to check in on facebook for the 10% discount instead...not only did we not get the 10% discount, but one of the new owners said we were annoying him! Very unprofessional....will NOT be eating here again until new owners take over this place.

Re: “Egg & I

For the money, probably the best sit-down breakfast place over here on the East side. Only open for breakfast and lunch, though. The Cimarron Hills neighborhood definitely doesn't have a better breakfast place in the area!

Interestingly enough, these chains seemed to exist in AZ as "The Good Egg" - the restaurants were almost identical. So, if you're ever eaten at "The Good Egg" chain, it's basically the same thing.

Expect standard breakfast food, prepared well - omelets, eggs, bacon; corned-beef hash - that type of thing. Decent (if weak) coffee. I see a wide range of people here from families with hordes of small children to seniors enjoying the chance to sip coffee and read the newspaper. The wait staff is very friendly and seem to go out of their way to accommodate everyone; going the extra mile to bring crying children crayons and coloring sheets, etc.

Nice little place!
