Re: “Levity Wellness

It's been awhile since I started going to Levity, and I have to say, the quality of the meds and the patient care continues to be one of the reasons I continue to visit.

Recently I've picked up some Agent Orange and Wonder Woman, two of my favorite strains, and they are as good as the first time.

Thanks Levity

Re: “A Cut Above - Fillmore

Just got the harvest in and the Whitedawg on the bottom is the bomb for $175 oz. But if you are interested in the top, then search no further. Original Diesel is my favorite but the WiFi is new and I have a gram to try out. I will let you know about it. This is hands down the best medication with the most knowledgeable, beautiful bud tenders in the world. Thank you A CUT ABOVE for always being so great!

Re: “Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato

This place is the last place I would go for ice cream. Everything behind the glass counter looks past it's expiration date.

That's not as bad as the flavors...they mix two good flavors, like butter pecan with Oreo cookies...yuk.

It costs an extra dollar to put your four dollar single scoop into a cone instead of a cup with a small plastic spoon.

Interestingly, if you watch folks coming in, more folks check the scene and leave without ordering, than actually order and leave with a cup or come.

Re: “Glacier Homemade Ice Cream & Gelato

I LOVE this place! Good prices, Amazing gelato and incredible ice cream. You can sample any ice cream and they are quite knowledgable about what they serve. Plus, they have very kind employees.

Re: “Briargate YMCA

This Y is in a nice area of town. Don't let this fool you, the place is overrun with gangster kids and skaters from the nearby skate park. I was never concerned about that until my locker was broken into, during a busy time on a Tuesday. No security, nothing done about it. Management was not surprised in the least, and stated so. I guess you are completely on your own here. If you have young children you think are being supervised, you might want to think again. This is an unsafe place pretending to be a safe place for families.

Re: “India Palace

My family and I used to love eating here regularly for the past 10 years under several new owners, love the food, however the most recent new owners were EXTREMELY disrespectful and rude to me and my entire family. We are RETIRED military, therefore did not get the 10% off, but pulled out our cell phone to check in on facebook for the 10% discount instead...not only did we not get the 10% discount, but one of the new owners said we were annoying him! Very unprofessional....will NOT be eating here again until new owners take over this place.

Re: “Egg & I

For the money, probably the best sit-down breakfast place over here on the East side. Only open for breakfast and lunch, though. The Cimarron Hills neighborhood definitely doesn't have a better breakfast place in the area!

Interestingly enough, these chains seemed to exist in AZ as "The Good Egg" - the restaurants were almost identical. So, if you're ever eaten at "The Good Egg" chain, it's basically the same thing.

Expect standard breakfast food, prepared well - omelets, eggs, bacon; corned-beef hash - that type of thing. Decent (if weak) coffee. I see a wide range of people here from families with hordes of small children to seniors enjoying the chance to sip coffee and read the newspaper. The wait staff is very friendly and seem to go out of their way to accommodate everyone; going the extra mile to bring crying children crayons and coloring sheets, etc.

Nice little place!

Re: “Doctors Orders

I gave Doctor's Orders a '5' because they have impressed me every time I have been in. Although I am not a member, I visit D.O. when my caregiver isn't open, for example on Sunday's.

The location is also good, and near me. It's not a big place, but it's nice inside and the atmosphere is pleasant. I am in the 'average' age range, as far as an MMJ patient goes, and I take my meds and my money very seriously. I'm also a very a picky and opinionated patient and consumer, as I should be. I decide where my money goes, and if I don't like a spot, I'll shout it out, especially if they have bad meds and even worse customer service.

I have consistently found Doctors Orders to be a very pleasant, patient focused, and affordable place to shop for my meds. Both the owner and manager are so nice. Mercede and Shannon, you make it worth it coming to shop there. Thank you so much for working with me and providing our community with what we need, good dispensary/caregivers, who do it for the patients!

If you get a chance stop by DO's- they don't have a 30 strains on the shelves, but what they do got is GOOD! And they ladies are sweet! ; )

Re: “A Cut Above - Fillmore

This is the greatest place in the world for medication. Ashley is the bomb and she has the best jars around. All the girls here are killer queens... You wont know what to look at, the girls in the jars or the girls holding the jars. You can't lose here, truly the best in the springs. I love A CUT ABOVE.

Re: “Acme Smoke

Not the best by a long shot. Smelled moldy when I came in. The girls working are cool though.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

When it opened, it had potential...a few tweaks here and there...but they tweaked in the wrong direction.

It is now basically a club for some fairly weird people, and if you are not a member of 'the club', you might as well find someplace else because the wait staff will ignore you, find you simply a problem for having woken up in the morning, and a bother for distracting them from the 'club members.'

The beer is interesting if you are smoking dope, but otherwise a good Dales for half the price anywhere else in town should do the trick.

Re: “Rock Bottom

Really, how can you say much bad about Rock Bottom? This location is a pretty decent example of the chain, with a fairly talented and creative brew master. It's your standard slightly upscale pub, with appetizers ranging from seared Ahi tuna to regular bar staples like nachos and wings.

It gets a little crazy in the bar area some nights simply because it's so darn busy and there aren't that many places to go out here on the East side... if you can get the attention of the bartenders, most of them quickly and competently can make simple drinks. If you ask for anything complex, you'll be explaining how to make it.

Beer prices are great during happy hour for the fresh, brewed-on-site beer. Food quality ranges depending on the night; I've ordered steaks here and received both excellent cuts of meat and some that I sent back after losing my appetite... and that was for their most expensive fillet which came to my table fatty and overcooked.

I'd stick with the burgers and standard bar food (pizza, nachos, etc) over anything too fancy.

Re: “Stadium Bar and Grill

This is the closest sports bar to my house; the wife and I enjoy going here for the occasional beer and lunch/dinner. The only other options around here are large chains; at least for the Cimarron Hills neighborhood. (Rock Bottom and Old Chicago come to mind.)

This is actually a cute sports bar and the food is decent. A 25oz Guinness set me back $6.99 which I felt was a tad bit pricey, but the pours were excellent and the beer fresh. The food prices were good; I had a decent-sized wrap and a cup of some very tasty chicken-tortilla soup for about $10.

So... obviously the profit margin here is made on alcohol, not food. ;) This is true for many restaurants, though.

A few stand-outs - the Buffalo-chicken wrap with fresh carrots and celery as well as the spicy burger (Dynamite burger, or something like that I believe) are very tasty.

The atmosphere is loud and kid friendly, so don't expect this to be a "quiet date night" kinda place. It's a place to bring the kids, have a beer, and watch some sports - with good food and decent if slightly expensive drinks.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Trinity is unique, and Colorado Springs is lucky to have it. First off - go here for the beer. The food is good, yes, but the beer is really the entire reason to experience Trinity. (I think right now they have a Cucumber-Basil Saison on tap - if you aren't into anything more adventurous than a Bud Light, you probably aren't going to enjoy this brewery.)

For the people who rate Trinity poorly; I'm not sure what they expect out of a microbrewery. Trinity has been rated in the top 25 breweries in the world; again, for a community as small as the Springs is; we're lucky to have a place like this. I don't know anywhere else in the city where I can go get beers as wildly different as Trinity offers with appetizers ranging from thick, sliced bacon slices served with maple syrup to vegan fajitas (which are amazing; and I'm not vegan!) - anyway... five stars.

Re: “Shovelhead Saloon

I must say the place has taken a turn for the worst. Don't rely on my comments though, I am not afraid to be wrong.

Re: “Trinity Brewing Company

Trinity has horrible service. We like their beer, but they have no idea how to run a restaurant. They publish hours but stopped service food and beer over an hour early early, both in the restaurant and bar for the last 2 times we were there.
