Re: “Paravicini's Italian Bistro

mediocre food; lazy, inattentive service. On a Thursday evening at 5:30 there were more staff than diners, however we had to wave at the server for five minutes before we got more water. The pasta was uninspired, the bread was boring, the salad was average - will not go back

Re: “Nawlins BarBQ and Seafood

I really can't believe this restaurant has 4 out of 5 stars!!! Both my husband and I had a SEVERE case of FOOD POISONING! This was the WORST Cajun food! I will NEVER go back! The food and drinks were both OVERPRICED! I would strongly suggest you save your money, and health and dine elsewhere.

Re: “North End Diner

Great place for breakfast and lunch...in the same day because the service is so damn slow, by the time you finish breakfast, it'll be lunch time. The food is just okay but the prices aren't bad and if the service was good, it'd be 100% worth it. Unfortunately, this isn't the case. My husband and I have waited 20+ minutes for something as simple as drink refills. Getting your check is another chunk of your day gone.

Only consider this place if you have a good couple hours to waste and don't mind being thirsty for a good part of your meal.

Re: “Halla San Korean BBQ

A few years ago, Halla San was a lively restaurant that served authentic Korean cuisine (I know, I lived in Korea). My favorite WAS the bulgogi. The proprietor, Jeannie, was always friendly and attentive. I am so sad to say that this is no longer case... We were the only patrons there and the food and service were sub-standard at best. In fact it had an eerie feel, perhaps succombing to the decrepitness of the surroundings. Unfortunately, I highly recommend you do not go here.

Re: “King's Chef Diner - Bijou

This place is extremely expensive and the staff is mean and rude. $10.00 plus tax for a double cheese burger and $1.50 for a side of green chile (about 2 table spoons, no kidding). I got a to-go order, the order arrived for the waitress by the cash register, she proceeded to collect the bill and never brought my food over. After she put my money in the till and walked away, I asked, "Is that mine over there?". She replied, (Oh, fu**!). Finally, she brought my food over and I examined the package. Granted, I was a little disgusted by her verbiage, I made a comment as to the size of the side of green chile(seriously 50ml, the size of a shot for $1.50). She then sarcastically replied, "Do you want another?", I chuckled, and said, "I don't want to pay another $1.50. She arrogantly closed with, "If you're going to throw a fit, I'll just throw one in!"...To make a long story short, $13.00 for a double cheese burger with rude service. Oh, and if you want fries, they're an additional $2.00. These people suck!

Re: “The Warehouse Restaurant and Gallery

I will never go back to The Warehouse. They put on a buffet for a work function I went to -- the food was decent, although their idea of desert for 75 people was one tray of cream puffs. However, six of us got our cars broken into while dining there, in their parking lot. When we went back in to get support from the staff in calling the police, the waitresses response was "Wow! I'm surprised that happened tonight. It usually happens around Christmas!" Anyplace that says break-ins "usually" happen at a certain time, then don't bother calling the police....makes me wonder. The best food in the world wouldn't be worth that attitude or expense.

Re: “Culpepper's Cajun Kitchen

Pepper and spice does not equal Cajun food. Their food lacked the richness of authentic Cajun food. They're crawfish was chewy and the service was lacking. I will not be going there again.

Re: “Three Margaritas

Smelled like an open sewer! Not sure if they have plumbing problems or what. This used to be one of our favorite restaurants for mexican food, but the last two times we tried to eat there - it smelled so bad we had to leave. Horrible!!!!!!!! They should be audited and shut down until it can be fixed. Absolutely disgusting smell.

Re: “Borriello Brothers - 8th

Boriello Brothers has once again dropped the ball and shown that they do not know how to run a pizza restaurant.

In case you did not know, they use a call center to take orders, and have (multiple times) had the order put in a completely different location. You can't even talk to a real person at the location that you're ordering from!

Also, in response to the "real" NY pizza comments and claims...if this is true NY pizza, they would carry Baked Ziti Pizza. If you have ever been anywhere near NYC you would realize that every single place has this...it's a staple. Last time I called and asked (apparently a manager at the 8th street location) if they could cook that and they said they "could cook anything." Sooooo, I called them back and asked to order it the next day and all of a sudden I talked to some jackass (probably from NYC) manager who blew me off and said that he couldn't make it. Funny.

This place certainly has the NY attitude we have come to love, but the pizza, business model, and management can use a serious adjustment. Don't give them your business.

If you want real NY pizza, head to NYPD Pizza on Powers!

Re: “Miyake Sushi and Mongolian BBQ

Could be the least customer friendly restaurant in town! The sushi was not very good and the mongolian bbq is average at best. Sad thing is the food was much better than the service. In a completely empty restaurant (big hint during the lunch hour) the waitress took about 10 minutes to bring my wife's drink. We had a problem and asked for the manager. This guy came from the back with an attitude and shouted across the restaurant towards us. I worked in restaurants through college and the managers were at worst decent towards the customers no matter what the situation. Don't go here! If they care so little for the customer then hopefully with such a bad attitude this place will not last.

Re: “North End Diner

Uh, no. -Not so much. -Friendly, but slow service. Lousy green chili-dry pork pieces, no real kick. Kind of dirty and run -down. No wonder there were seats avaliable at North End, when there was a line out the door at Omelette Parlor just down the street. Next time, I'll wait in line and enjoy a good breakfast.

Re: “Western Omelette

My wife and I treid this place based on the Gazette's review. OH BOY, the food critics at the Gazette must be taste bud deficent. To start the coffee is just bitter brown water. With all the staff hang'en out they still couldn't mustare any service that would have been acceptable. Both of our meals were over cooked, but the worst was the fact that our easy over eggs were cooked all the way threw so we had no creamy yolk to dunk the toast in. The pancakes, bacon, and sausage were burnt as well. But when the waitress finely decided to give us some service she didn't even notice that either my wife or I had touched our food. I wouldn't recommend this place for breakfast at ALL.

Re: “The Curry Leaf Restaurant

It's hard to imagine a good experience at this place as the two times that I walked into the 'restaurant' it smelled of cleaner, not anything South Indian spice or otherwise. We were greeted at the door by a white guy who looked like he did not want to wait on one more table, which would be understandable, except there was only one table of diners there. The ambiance includes a few tables that look like they were leftovers from a closed fast-food chain did not convince me to linger once my friend and I decided to order, in spite of the lack of cooking smells. We tried ordering two things off of the menu, which they were "out of" but we were told to come back again to try them as they were diner favorites. I really, really wanted to like this restaurant. I love Indian food and was happy that a Sri Lankan restaurant had opened up in Colorado Springs. But I did not have the experience that others describe and I will not be back for a third chance to change my mind. India Palace, here I come.

Re: “Borriello Brothers - 8th

If you like cold and then nuked pizza, this is your place. I prefer an environment that has a bit more class then some fast food joint. I had to go next door to 7-Eleven when i was done eating to get a candy bar to get rid of the bad after taste.

Re: “Firehouse Southern Style BBQ

I gave it a SECOND try and it was worse then the first experience. Lousy service, cold crappy food, YUCK all the way around... Save your money , go elsewhere!

Re: “Fujiyama

Alas, in the case of Fujiyama, two strikes and they're out. My first experience there was very lackluster. Friday Night ultra-busy, but still with a cool vibe. Unfortunately the service was horrendous and the sushi only marginally better. 30 minutes to order, 1 hour to be served, and no checking in to see if we'd like more drinks. So chalking it up to it being busy, I tried again last night for a birthday celebration and experienced the same inattentive service and mediocre sushi.

Re: “Leon Gessi New York Pizza

I never got to try the pizza because when I ordered they made my pie incorrectly, and then when I came back for the one that I assumed would be the correct order it was still wrong. When I called the store to let them know there had been a mistake and that I would like a new pizza both the employee and the manager of the establishment informed me that I must have ordered incorrectly-though neither time had the toppings I had ordered- because that's what they had written down. Apparently this pizzeria makes it a policy to chastise their customers for the incompetence of their employees. I will not be ordering here again because 19 dollars for 2 incorrect orders and canned product is not acceptable.
