Re: “La Carreta, Yoo Mae, Thai Lily Cuisine and Yakitori 8

The hallmark of Yakatori is an awful looking building in a bad strip mall from the '60's for which someone must have a strong immune system to even pass by, let alone go into the place and darn eat the food...I can't imagine what grows on the floor of a Yakatori's.

Re: “Tokyo Joe's, Dank IPA, Bird Dog BBQ

Bird Dog's ribs are just not very good at all...tough and tasteless...I keep hoping, but have come away slightly sickened three times now.

Re: “Billy's Old World Pizza, BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, Bean Bandit

All of these are good, but not great. Easy, which is good. But for the price you can do better.

Re: “Grand Gyros, Renegade Brewing, Rocky Mountain Dogs

Rocky Mountain Dogs is conveniently located next to Walgreens where they keep a full supply stomach pain remedies that you will need after eating a dog or burger from this terribly dirty kitchen.

I swear they boil the dogs in the same pot of water that is used day after day...be careful sitting down because you can easily slide right off the greasy stools.

The only reason regional health has not shut this down is that the owners are former city employees.

Re: “Sassafras, Boonzaaijer's, Smiley's

I eat a fair amount of wedding cake, and, they are the best tasting cake in town, by a fair margin. Great folks, great product. Proud to have them in COS.

Re: “Sassafras, Boonzaaijer's, Smiley's

Boonzaaijer's is soooo good...it is an overload experience to go in there and see all the pies and cakes and then fresh baked pastries like no on their place in Colorado Springs...it is authentic and exactly what one thinks when one thinks about going to the bakery.

Re: “Coal Mine Dragon, Josh & John's, Sheldon's Luncheonette

You are right in target about Sheldon's.

I think the UNITA Coal Mine Dragon has closed.

Josh and John's has gotten pretty dirty lately...a lot of sour milk in every crack and crevice....about 10 years past due for a remodel.

Re: “Dine & Dash

Sancho's Mexican Grub is the best Mexican food in Colorado Springs. Finally found a Mexican food place that tastes like home! If you have not tried it, you are missing out!

Re: “Dine & Dash

Charlie's is dirty, disorganized, and sure to make you sick. The specialize in burned pork ribs that are tough as nails and grisly. I find it hands down the not even BBQ really.

Re: “Dine & Dash

Raven's Nest has always been privately owned by people who care about coffee and their customers...support them and you support local business along with rewarding hard working people for their good attitude in making life small town lovely!

Re: “Dine & Dash

Having eaten in all three of these, the one addition I would add to their menus is lomotil for the after effects.

I swear the cook at the Peak Grill put something in a special request change to a menu item that laid me low for an entire weekend.

Re: “Dine & Dash

Front Range is simply dirty...and when you eat, you have to use one hand to swat away flies while you try to keep the BBQ in the bun with the other hand...not to mention trying to keep your warn plastic glass from slipping off the greasing table top.

Matthew, the next time you're in Guffey, Rita's is also well worth the trip.

Re: “Dine & Dash

La Casa Fiesta isn't very New Mexican. Why don't you head down to Santa Fe and try out some real foods?

Re: “Dine & Dash

I must interject on the Nawlins review by Bryce Crawford and its inaccuracies.
Blackened Catfish was "Mysteriously" served on a sizzling cast-iron fajita pan?
Fajita's are essentially grilled meat tacos, (mostly really cheap cuts of beef sliced thin) and shoved onto a cast-iron skillet at service to improve its sell-ability...
Blackened items are ALWAYS cooked on a white hot sizzling cast-iron pan to create the nice spice/herb blackened crust that it is known for, and hence served in the same dish.
The Proximity of Louisiana to Texas (and such to Mexico) meant that several eateries used the same cast-iron pan they already had for the Blackened items explains the use of it for Fajitas,..... eventually.
Any foodie should know this, not to mention one writing reviews.

Re: “Dine & Dash

Matt, we've been to Saltgrass many times and NEVER have we been disappointed.

I'd advise people to get grilled veggies with their entree (in place of the usual potato) as they are the best veggies in town, not the rock hard carrots and broccoli that most serve.

Re: “Dine & Dash
