Re: “"Chard Skorman" for Council?

Funny how people can get a nicknames. Chard is definitely Richard's--and a pretty cool one at that. My thought was to put white quotation marks on the "Chard" and go with it. Good for buzz...

Re: “Venetucci family member issues plea for farm

As one of the many relatives of Nick Venetucci and Louie Pinello I wholeheartedly agree with many of the statements that Mary made. Much The same thing has happened to the Pinello Ranch. Which is next door to the Venetucci Farm. Where once deer came to feed on the corn stubble you now see heavy equipment moving the earth. The water rights are what made the land so valuable and the City of Colorado wanted the water. Yes people and organizations have tried to keep the ranch in good repair but it has to be a labor of love for the land. Grandpa Louie and Grandma Jessie raised their family there and I was blessed to grow up on the land earning a healthy respect for what it takes to be a rancher or farmer.
Sincerely
Billie Goodwin
Granddaughter of Louie and Jessie Pinello.

Re: “Prosecutor stuck with lifetime debt for collecting pension

This is a classic example of El Paso Countys infamous diversion tactic! A classic example of a retiree, in this case, getting screwed by El Paso County. Its a County Retirement Plan anyone in their right mind would expect that the Commissioners would have some oversight of that plan, but yet Commissioner Littleton plays the typical no one told me card and County Attorney Amy Folsom, a woman who should not have a license to practice law, plays interference for the Commissioners because she has no other real value; just like her girlfriend Diana May. Nevertheless, where is the accountability? Again, its an El Paso County Retirement Plan and our sleazy Commissioners dont have oversight? No one is being educated on how the plan works? Something isnt making sense there!

We all know that CFAO Nicola Sapp has her hands in the Retirement Plan. Will she be held accountable for this major flaw? Could this be another example of her stupidity and evidence of being unqualified for a CFAO job? What the heck is going on with El Paso County? No retiree should be faced with this! They shouldnt get railroaded by a retirement plan put in place through the government entity for which they devoted years of their lives.

Oh my word, we have a dirty Sheriff and Undersheriff, a dirty District Attorney, sexual predators in the workplace, people in jobs for which they are not qualified, and a board full of dirty Commissioners led by none other than Darryl Short Short Man Glenn. No wonder this County is a laughing stock!

Re: “Pico gets CSF endorsement, developer donations

I'm sorry to see Mr. Pico succumbing to shadowy, developer money as he knows these same developers, most notably Nor'wood, want to change the Banning Lewis Ranch annexation agreement to put more of the development burden on the backs of the taxpayers. CSF's slate of candidates will not be the voice of us, the citizens, but the voice of irresponsible and greedy developers.

Re: “Pico gets CSF endorsement, developer donations

Is 'Colorado Springs Forward' really significant or are they more like a flea floating down the river in 'an aroused state' shouting: "Raise the Drawbridge!"

Re: “"Chard Skorman" for Council?

A face to face session with a strong moderator featuring Mr. Skorman and Mr. Fowler, the CSF endorsed candidate - on how best to address the three top issues facing the city should be illuminating. Then Mr. Fowler could go back to his day job.

Re: “"Chard Skorman" for Council?

Richard's a hell of a class act. Not sure there is anyone with a better understanding of our city government than Richard Skorman in town. And he's a got a good sense of humor.

Re: “UPDATE: Together for Colorado Springs launch draws over 500

Minor nit-pick. I believe that Dawn Haliburton-Rudy was referring to the Colorado Springs Women's March, that drew 7,000 people of all genders and hues, not 700 as indicated in this blog. This is perhaps the largest local march since anti-Viet Nam war protests of the early 1970's.

Re: “Downtown stadium off the table, new City for Champions project announced

You're right that marijuana sales are a major factor in the rise of tax revenue. But it doesn't account for the high-occupancy rate reported by the hotel/hospitality sector. Legal marijuana is also a major factor in the rise of "homeless" vagrants migrating to COS.
