Builders will make no money on a tiny home - thus you can expect they'll use their political connections to make sure they don't become commonplace in suburban environments.
story had grammar problems, confusing statements - cant wait for acadamey to respond before publishing? you are not a NY times
Carrot - then post the secrets! yeah i thought - just BS by you
A low cost tiny home still needs a high cost developed lot with electric, gas, water, and sewer taps. That makes the whole unit still too expensive.
You're wrong Maverick. Every cadet is not force fed drugs nor treated like a military test subject like this kid was.
Every cadet is not used as a scapegoat in order to coverup blotched investigations.
Argue and stomp your virtual foot all you want. It really doesn't make a bit of difference to me. The entire institution is designed to pull the wool over the eyes of the naive general public. And for the most part, it works (you're proof). I'd be just like you if I wasn't privy to some of the dirty little secrets.
What people are getting wrong here, is the academy is not getting you ready to serve. It's getting you ready to lead. Big difference, they are making the future officers of the air force. It's going to be the hardest thing you do in your life. If you can't cut it, they weed you out because you would be jeopardizing those you are responsible for. It's the same reason us army ranger school is basically mandatory for infantry officers. They want to find the people who don't have the skillset, or internal Constitution to be able to prevail no matter what the circumstances are. Is it fair? Probably not, but then again, neither is war, and that's the purpose behind the service academies.
Yes when you join the military they critcize EVERYTHING you do and give you instructions for EVERYTHING!! Especially officers. There is a reason for it. They need to know you can follow simple instructions that do not matter before they give you major instructions in which lives will be at stake if they are not adhered too. It isn't bullying, it isn't racist and it isn't brainwashing you into a cult. It is a carefully developed plan for the cadets professional development. It is not perfect ofcourse, and every branch is constantly adjusting their regimen, but the military has been developing soldiers/sailors/marines/airmen for over 240 years, and in doing so have developed the finest and deadliest military in the world. With such a track record, they will not conform to the individual, but rather require the individual to conform into what they know they need him/her to be
Poor guy couldn't hang with what is done to every Cadet. Got to be tougher than that. Pity party article.
I dated a person who held quite a bit of authority there. Some of the stories I heard this person tell really made me question whether or not those in authority take the honor code seriously. This person covered their own ass at the expense of one younger service members and I could hardly believe how easy it was for them to do so. Situations like this made me lose all respect... hence, an ex.
Terrible reporting. First, the headline on the front page is terrible and unrelated to the story. Second (and related), she had one family as a source. Even if the Academy wouldn't respond, a responsible journalist would have had more reliable sources to strengthen the story. It's a sample size of 1.
Not everyone can cut it academically or militarily at the Academy. It just seems that many Millenials are so caudled that by the time they really have to hunker done and study or work, they can't adjust. The military academies prepare them for the possibility of serving in combat zones...it's much different from civilian life. Not everyone can deal with it. It's the same with guys wanting to become Seals in the U.S. Navy. The washout rate is around 90%. But this is what separates the men from the boys. I hope Kwateng finds his calling. Best of luck to him.
hadenoughofpam: Actually, this piece is an example of good journalism, although you apparently wouldn't recognize that genre if you saw it.
Is it one sided? I suppose so. But since the AFA declined her requests for their side, the Academy doesn't have anything to complain about.
Kids wash out of college all the time. Most of them don't get sent to a mental ward and get medicated in the process. That alone makes this story worth reading. So until the AFA can explain their procedures, I guess we're stuck with just one side of the story.
If you're looking for just positive stories about the AFA, you probably need to read the local daily paper. I'm pretty sure they cover the subjects you're looking for.
This author Pam Zebeck hates USAFA and does not write anything about the academy unless it is hugely negative. She does her best to trash any and all activity at the USAFA. There are plenty positive to write about but she chooses none. Pam it's time you found any place to bully throw your venom. Life's too short to be so negative.
Actually, Tannim, I have 2 degrees already. I was more interested in the Army, anyways, but they tend to dislike bad knees. Many people who I have talked to seem to have hated the place, too.... except the white preppy kids from fairly well-off families.. they seemed to be drastically different in their appreciation and accolades they received there.
Apparently Thomas Shea couldn't make the cut there either. The academics are fierce and high. They get a real education there, but Tommy wouldn't even make a D- in freshman physics.
Yeah the AFA is a joke. Nothing but racist bullies. You're way better off going to a real school and getting a real education rather than simply trying to learn how to be the biggest jerk on the campus. I have yet to hear a positive story come out of that place. Most of it is cultist behavior and systematic torture and ruining of lives of anyone they don't deem part of their master academy race.
Hello CSM Thomas Moore the years have passed since you was my first sergeant at Fort Lewis Washington in the early eighties 3rd Battalion 60th Infantry you appointed me as your equal opportunity NCO SSG James Broggin I recalled how you shared about what happened to your brother Charles and Henry I am so glad that this case was resolved and that your mission was accomplished Justice I have been trying to get in contact with you but I don't know how I live in Tacoma Washington I still do black history and Martin Luther King Day exhibit for the city of Tacoma I have since retired from the city of Tacoma my number 253 224-5935 you've always been an extraordinary man and an inspiration in my life to exceed and achieve
The construction project, which is still moving along, hasn't lead to the demise of Colorado Springs, or created an influx of students, and visitors that turned the community into a haven for Moonies. Andrew Wommack is not a hatemonger, and beyond the issues his son has had you don't hear about any scandals about him, or his ministry. I can admit that there are times I've felt that he stretches the truth because he's overzealous, but I also would have no problem telling him that to his face. Andrews son Peter is divorced, and his ex-wife had posted on the internet her version of the night Peter was "raised from the dead", and she said yes he did flat line at the hospital, but the doctor shocked him back to life. So no "dead for 5 hours, turned blue with a toe tag on him" as Andrew has proclaimed. To his credit Wommack has not hidden the fact that his son was a mess, and in the past used illegal drugs. Wommack still has a Southern Baptist streak in him, and that's evident by some of the political statements he weaves into his messages, but he is a Vietnam veteran so I cut him some slack there.
Dont know much about Andrew Wommack, but nothing can be more evil than WalMart, except maybe Amazon
Very intetesting read!!
