Re: “Cyclists say their lives are at risk from road-raging motorists

There are far too many cars on the road for cycling. Whenever I use to ride, it was as far on the shoulder as possible, or on the sidewalk. I got use to it because it was the safest thing for me. If these morons can't get it through their thick heads that most roads aren't bike friendly, then they deserve what they get.

Re: “City inspectors watch contractors to be sure road projects are done right

Nice of them to take a bow, but guess what? The repair job done on the Austin Bluffs Parkway at Union Blvd was very poorly done. It will clearly require additional work. Apparently nobody can be trusted nowadays.

They could go a long way towards keeping the roads in good shape if they simply pulled the blasted weeds out of the medians and shoulders...

Re: “CC and the FAC finalize details of takeover agreement

I wonder how many of the artists represented in the worlds great museums have terminal degrees........

Re: “CC and the FAC finalize details of takeover agreement

This move is nothing more than an act of desperation. Entities like this need to foster community interest, something that the FAC mostly failed at. Unfortunately Colorado College isn't much better at it, thus I expect this place to continue as a backwater destination instead of the jewel it really could be.

Unless of course you agree with their thoughts.

Pete, thanks for the great representation you have given us! It's been a pleasure knowing you have our backs. We have yours in November!

Re: “Explosives, junk contribute to Vista Grande neighborhood tensions

The article on John Britten was missing some important details I was interested in finding out. How long has Mr. Britten's family been in the Springs, what about the father (i.e. past military), which schools did the family attend (i.e. D11), past employers, who introduced him to drugs in the Springs, etc. In short, was Mr. Britten and his family typical long term residents of the Springs or are they from another community where these issues are also a problem and they came to the Springs on their slide down the ladder (continuous police, courts, and jail cycle)? Please let us know.

Re: “Peterson AFB launches commander investigation into religious display

My Lord is coming to earth from glory. I am waiting for that home coming day. Exactly what the Bible is telling us. Having an open BIBLE on the desk at Peterson Air Force base
gave more and more time of reminding that our only God was the only God from the beginning and the end.

Re: “Fountain Creek district is poised to tackle a long list of flood-control projects

Trying to restore to the past what Nature has decided to make into the present is a fool's errand.

Re: “Efforts are underway to improve mental health care in Colorado, but there's a long road ahead

With the advent of DSM-V declaring everything to be a mental illness, this initiative needs to fail, period. Using vice taxes to influence behavior simply doesn't work, and the first key to mental health reform is not more money but smarter diagnosis and treatment by unbiased and competent professionals, of which the profession is sorely lacking.
