Re: “Party definitions, international alliances, Ute Pass Trail, dogs and people, and more

It started out funny how all this Democrat, Republican back and forth has gone. But something just came to my mind. We are all different we all have things that are important to us as individual people. Thats what it is that makes us great as a Nation. Very few places on this ball we call home can we have our own opinion and express it without retaliation from our leaders. Why cant we from our peers? I personally am a registered Independent voter some things Im quite Liberal about while others Im very Conservative about. For instance I fell very strongly about my right to bear arms but yet I dont feel I have the right to hand them out like candy. I feel I have the right to worship any way I want but shouldnt shame someone because they dont do the same. See what I saying?

I read through each of Mr Howell's points on being a Democrat, and he's convinced me that I'm a republican - NOT! I consider myself a pretty progressive Democrat and I'm not in tune with any of his points.
I also have to say that a few of Mr. Budy's points on 'being republican' don't make much sense either.

Re: “Choosing a political party, Trump, clean power, and more

Emily Walker I care more about my dog because it is a dog park. Although I haven't heard of any such nonsense of trying to ban children from the dog park I do think that parents who are not careful will end up with small children knocked on their keisters. Not because dogs are being aggressive but because they are running in a pack.

A yellow ribbon on a dog is to signify please do not pet and used usually when a dog is ON a leash. A dog park is great place to teach your kid proper dog etiquette. It is my time to not have to worry about children because I am not at a play ground.

Re: “Choosing a political party, Trump, clean power, and more

Asawatcher, Larimore's letter proved ignorance and bigotry beyond the shadow of a doubt. You can get all pissy about it if you want, but there it is. And I don't really gives a rat's @$$ what YOU want.

Re: “Choosing a political party, Trump, clean power, and more

Yet again, Larimore's myopic detatchment has manifested itself, so a gentle reality-check is therefore, sadly required, but the truth is so simple and so obvious, it won't take long to establish; longtooth, delete! and ASA--great faux monikers, gang, LOL!--please take note:

You're probably a "regressive" if:

• You think an arbitrary increase in the minimum-wage, without it being accompanied by any tangible incease in the education or productivity of the recipient(s) is beneficial to the individuals involved and/or their employers.

• You think that law-enfocement specifically targets innocent minorties, then criticize and disparage them, because MSNBC and such enlightened luminaries as Rev. Al told you to.

• You believe in a fabricated, fictitional, ridiculous "war on Women."

• You think Bill Clinton or Barack Obama served in the military, and that there is a governmental conspiracy involving the 9/11 attacks.

• You think President Obama deserved the Nobel Peace Prize, even though he allowed tortuous activities at Guantanamo, approved drone strikes leading to the deaths of hundred of civilians, backed away from a transisent "red line" with Assad and negotiated a wispy, laughable arms reduction agreement with Iran, that will lead to their eventual nuclear capability.

If you don't fit into any of the categories above, congratulations, as you're still capale of accepting fact and haven't become utterly subservient to a flawed ideology and those that perpetuate it to further their own agenda of social engineering to the detriment of the populace.

To the rest of you, best of luck as we transition back to a common-sensical mind-set that the mid-term elections heralded.

Re: “Choosing a political party, Trump, clean power, and more

No, Dave H.
If you are going to insult someone by calling them ignorant and a bigot, it is incumbent upon YOU to point out WHAT is ignorant or bigoted. Otherwise, you’re just hurling irrelevant invectives, and that is easy, as you have already demonstrated.
I want to know what YOU think is ignorant or bigoted in Mr. Nicholl’s letter, and why you think that way. Otherwise you’re only publicly demonstrating YOUR inability to frame a reasoned rebuttal.

Re: “Choosing a political party, Trump, clean power, and more

asawatcher, it is even easier to call them ignorant and a bigot when their own letter proves it.

Re: “Choosing a political party, Trump, clean power, and more

Dave H;
Calling someone ignorant and a bigot is easy.
A rational response of disagreement is hard.
I see you chose the easy.
So I will add to Larimore’s list:
“If your response to political assertions is limited to name-calling, you may be a Republican.”

Re: “Police brutalized, PTSD and pot, American opportunity, and more

Agreed Bill, that not allowing PSTD on the list of Colorado medical marijuana is a disservice especially when even Veteran Services agrees it can help. Ultimately attending physicians don't recommend marijuana often which has created the offices where Dr.'s see marijuana patients. Most people are left to self medicate in a new way because attending physicians don't like to discuss marijuana.

Re: “Police brutalized, PTSD and pot, American opportunity, and more

Thanks for printing a response to a Gazette article to alert me that folks are receiving the right wing nut newsletters that continue to spin a negative message toward black lives matter. They'd like you to believe that a civil war flag isn't being used to promote racism while spinning racism into the history of the founder of planned parenthood. Probably pro death penalty which is why Len never mentions all lives matter. I can't stand these fake reports about PPH.

Re: “Police brutalized, PTSD and pot, American opportunity, and more

Again Mr. Wyman How can not participating accomplish anything? Its like wanting a garden while sitting on the porch. Your vote is your voice to change things. You stated you dont approve of the lobby money in Washington and you dont want to vote for a liar. Yet you wont speak up with your vote to change any of it. Plenty of things need voted on besides the people. Our Vote is the only Voice we have in Politics. Yes you have every right to not vote and still bitch thats called Freedom of Speech.

Re: “Police brutalized, PTSD and pot, American opportunity, and more

Janie Knickerbocker, did you totally miss the point of my letter? Yes, 100%. Read it again please. To use the age of a candidate is not really a sound method to determine for whom to vote as much as skin color is not either. You say "Obviously you do not know any young professionals so you have no right to judge them" to which I ask how the hell do you know? I said the article did not say. I did not write the damn article, I pointed out the idiocy of it and you are pointing out your lack of reading comprehension. How young is "young"? Did it say? Do you know? A 21 year old prostitute is a "young professional" is she not? Can I deduce then you are black and a racist based on your comments? No. I can deduce you are a bigot and not very bright either. Glad you are a voter. (That is sarcasm) Either you are defending idiocy or hating older white males or both.
I gave up voting years ago but I still can bitch contrary to what some might say. I do not vote because I simply do not believe in hiring liars especially for positions of power. I can also say that I have forgotten more than you will ever learn.
