Re: “Reader: Leave the yard signs alone

Politicians littering public land with signs is the bigger problem, we should end that.

Re: “Reader: Leave the yard signs alone

I had hundreds of signs stolen in a systematic and methodical way in my Council campaign. I'd love to be able to catch some of these people and have them testify to the City as an alternative punishment why they think what they're doing is ok.

It's indicative of the filth in Colorado Political scene. The political consultant class is well known for their pond-scum based moral compass. Sad that in Colorado Springs the paid-for-hire consultant class would rather cheat than let candidates compete on their strengths and weaknesses. Sad.

Re: “Reader: Leave the yard signs alone

It is happening everywhere and I'm sure to more than Richard.
The first time signs disappeared his opponent signs had sprung up over night.

Parents are setting a bad example. Stop trespassing!

Re: “Reader: Leave the yard signs alone

So, unless those signs were burned, they still exist somewhere. In a car trunk, in someone's garage, in a landfill? Who knows? But I'll keep my eye out for them just the same. If I spot them there will be the dickens to pay. I wish there was a "find my iPhone" app for political signs. It's a sad state of affairs in our city that that last sentence found its way into print. PS If you are on good terms with your trash collector you might want to ask the guys to let you know if they should see them... and from where they were picked up.

Re: “Reader: Vote to keep our town moving forward

While I support the same candidates as this letter writer, I really dislike the tone. These candidates have done an excellent job of presenting themselves and their credentials without resorting to the smear tactics of their opponents.

As supporters, let's do the same, please!

I will be voting for them! Though I'm still waiting to get my ballot that was mailed last Friday.

What did he do?

Re: “Reader: A reminder that Doug Lamborn is not representing the people

Put a $100 bill in an envelope and send it Lamborn. I'm sure that will get you in the door for a meeting with him. Another $100 might help him listen to you as well.

Sorry, but cynicism is a form of realism. In this case, the reality is that he doesn't give a whit about anyone but his donors.

Re: “Reader: Forget about the downtown stadium already

Personally, I have no problem with a downtown stadium, as long as our tax dollars are not spent to build and run it.

Re: “Reader: Marijuana's impact on society is more than just dollars

Absolute nonsense. Your sources are slightly less credible than Reefer Madness.

Re: “Reader: Marijuana's impact on society is more than just dollars

Lol, anyone who thinks it was politicians pointing out the "uncomfortable love affair with addictive behavior in tobacco" knows not what they write about.

I'll bet Fowler is with some anti Marijuana group.

Re: “Reader: Marijuana's impact on society is more than just dollars

Ms. Ewing Fowler:

The only link you provide is to the "glowing report" about the benefits of legalized marijuana. You do not link to your sources claiming otherwise.

Just to be clear, you might have mentioned that the Office of National Drug Control Policy is NOT a neutral source of information. By law, that Office must oppose the legalization of any drug currently on schedule I of section 202 of the Controlled Substances Act (21 U.S.C. 812).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_of_Na…

That your argument is based solely on sources that oppose legalization diminishes your credibility.

Re: “Reader: Let the transportation marketplace figure it out on its own

Ever since humans began walking upright, they have been searching for better ways to get from point A to point B. Lyft and Uber are the latest entries, and as always new ways are being resisted by those who are invested in the old ways. Mr. Castle is correct. Let the marketplace and the consumers decide.

Re: “Reader: Confidential CSPD source is doing the public a disservice

How does Mr. Addy know the anonymous officer did not first "stand up to try to improve the department" from within? Perhaps he did and got nowhere, or, worse yet, was threatened if he did not drop it.
