Re: “BLM starts Carson study, Broadmoor boosts Lamborn, Gazette gets paywall, and more

Some might say that the Organizers of the Pikes Peak Marathon and Ascent are interfering with the incline enthusiasts.

Re: “BLM starts Carson study, Broadmoor boosts Lamborn, Gazette gets paywall, and more

The BLM will rubber stamp anything Fort Cartoon wants to do in spite of crashing on Almagre which could start a fire that burns the town to the ground. When the Broadmoor promotes LAMEborn it's Anschutz telling us how to vote and when the GAGzette tries a paywall for people to comment it's more cowardice to stop the critics after they tried facebook login and found that many more critics had a facebook account than the violent shills that ruined their comment section. They actually had a policy that no groups could comment even if they had a facebook page and CSaction was the only group commenting. Cowards afraid of the truth.

Re: “BLM starts Carson study, Broadmoor boosts Lamborn, Gazette gets paywall, and more

This sounds like another rubber stamp procedure masquerading as an independent study.

Re: “Assessor fined, Pride Fest a go, Broadmoor to buy Norris Penrose, and more

Thank you Mr. Anschutz for purchasing the Norris-Penrose EVENT CENTER and the 10K seat STADIUM. Now the taxpayers of COS won't have to squander future sales tax revenue building the downtown STADIUM/EVENT CENTER component of C4C. Including the World Arena, COS presently has an overabundance of STADIUM/EVENT CENTERS.

Are the VISIONARY mayor and "city leaders", those gentlemen who are so eager to build a STADIUM/EVENT CENTER downtown, aware that Norris-Penrose was formerly owned by the county - aka taxpayers - but had to gift the property away because it was losing hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and it badly needed repairs and upgrades. This is a cautionary lesson in what happens when you build it and they DON'T come.

Re: “The PERA saga continues, trails reopen, and more

Amazing how the City Council can't spare $50,000 for an MJ ballot issue, but seems to have no issue with risking tens of millions of dollars in punitive damages in the PERA issue.

Re: “Maketa recall underway, Supreme Court says Gessler overstepped, Lamborn and Rayburn square off

All Lamborn can do is throw mud and then claim the other guy has no track record to lean on. Hopefully that old strategy won’t work this time around. What has Lamborn got to lean on? Oh yeah, he's a lawyer....forgot. Jeez what a surprise that Lamborn would stand there and say Mr. Rayburn had no record to stand on when the distinguished retired Air Force leader managed a budget larger than our state's. Add in all the over-the-top honors Mr. Rayburn has amassed in addition to defending our nation's freedom through his professional military career and then guess what; he's NOT a lawyer thank God.

Lamborn is an unmitigated idiot. I'm sorry but I have to call 'em like I see 'em.

Re: “Sheriff tax rakes it in, Philipps to ship out, more

It looks like the Sheriff overestimated the amount of tax dollars he needed, as he could only find a way to spend $10 million of his $17 million windfall - thus you should expect some wasteful expenditures real soon. I hear the military has some excess MRAPs and Swiftboats for sale.

Imagine if only SOME of this money could go towards road repairs or stormwater issues...

Perhaps we need to combine the Mayor's ballot issue with a ballot issue that reduces the Sheriff's money before we allow our old and new sheriffs an opportunity to waste $50 million.

Re: “Sheriff tax rakes it in, Philipps to ship out, more

So will the sheriff's tax be overseen by the psychology major Maketa promoted??? Luckily, the budget is invisible to anyone but those two. Easier that way.

Re: “Sheriff tax rakes it in, Philipps to ship out, more

At least Rayburn has proven himself human by the mistake but more importantly has earned his uniform with his service to our country. Thank you Mr. Rayburn and may you be voted into Congress to take your service experience there to represent us with pride and strength.

Re: “All Pikes Peak Reads, Pride Fest snags, Lamborn's self-loan, more

Why doesn't Dr. Dobson or Lamborn's church or other Lamborn supporters give the 100K? I remember two years ago Lamborn's camp blasting the Blaha children for donating some of their own money to support their father's campaign. I don't know what's happening here but something doesn't smell right when a candidate loans himself his own money to mudsling his opponent's impressive military career with accusations that Lamborn's own legal firm is guilty of. Will Lamborn also claim the 100k as a tax free donation as well? I pray we'll see Lamborn's going back home parade this time around....sigh.

Re: “Maketa urged to resign, Elder ponders sheriff's office changes, more

TejonTech, you write, "Leadership is risky, and always involves pissing off the lazy, the jealous, the unimaginative..." That accounts for why you are so pissed off at the leader of our nation, President Obama.

Re: “Maketa urged to resign, Elder ponders sheriff's office changes, more

The funniest thing to come out of the 2013 recalls was this idea that a recall is an easy process. It's not. It takes a ton of work, or, as was the case with the Morse recall, takes a lot of outsider money to get a recall on the ballot.

Re: “Maketa urged to resign, Elder ponders sheriff's office changes, more

Would a recall mean Sheriff Maketa would lose his pension and El Paso County Colorado would not have to pay for this retirement? Recall paperwork and initiative are usually done by political party and it seems like this town is wanting to wait so the finger can be pointed at Democrats.

Re: “All Pikes Peak Reads, Pride Fest snags, Lamborn's self-loan, more

If contributions are not from individual donors, does that mean they are from corporations? Is the balance in each of these cases from companies or agenda groups, and if so, which ones?

I sure hope we can dump Lamborn...even with a democratic replacement. We need thinkers, problem solvers, leaders...not just automatic far right votes.

Anybody but Lamborn is my motto!

Re: “A stormwater plan, religious conflict at AFA, and the C4C debate

The mayor promised an independent assessment of stormwater needs - yet that assessment has not yet been made public. How is it we already have a $dollar amount?

Re: “A stormwater plan, religious conflict at AFA, and the C4C debate

so the stormwater authority wants to ask for a vote from the teabaggers around here to spend twice what they got their panties in a twist about for the last stormwater fee. Good luck with that.

mayor botch thinks he can stall the vote on c4c until he can say we have already invested too much. once again he is underestimating the teabagger mentality around here... he will need luck with that one too.

teabaggers around here are too short sighted to see why any taxes are needed for anything.

Re: “PERA legal costs, wildfire funds, fracking, and more

Over 1 million dollars for PERA. How much paid to law firm since Bach's administration began? Personnel issues, urban renewal authority, etc. At least there are some impressive attorneys in that firm.
