Why does it matter if he is in the army? Its the few bad apples that give the rest a bad name. Plenty of "non military" people doing the same crap. Its just easy to group military and point the finger.

If you don't want an assault rifle, don't buy one. I don't want tofu, but it doesn't mean you can't by it.
The best thing assault rifles is keeping the IRS and TSA at bay when Obama sends them after us.

Someone said the other day at lunch in Manitou that the city officials should lead by example. They should take the shuttle or pay for parking instead of having free parking in the back of city hall or on the side.

The problem is that the IRS was fine with letting the big government liberals using 501 C$ status to promote a big government agenda that meant more money and less work for the IRS. But when conservatives woke up and tried to do the same, they all of a sudden called into the question that which had been allowed previously.
If these groups are going to be exempt then they need a category for groups that fit their description.

I suggest that any visitor or business owner not wanting metered parking read work done by Donald Shoup. Parking is a scarce commodity and we generally under-price it. That leads to people staying in one spot for a long time and keeping others (customers) from using it.
In Parking Demand Management, the ideal is one or two spots open on every block. Those that want to park right in front of high-value areas pay more than those that are willing to park a few blocks away and walk.
One other thing...in many places, business owners over-estimate the number of customers that arriving by personal motor vehicle and thus over-emphasize free or low cost parking. I imagine that may be the case in Manitou as well.

You all reali8ze the only groups denied in Cenncinnati were all progressive groups. All three of them? The horror of actually having to back up your social welfare bonfides must be really rought for some.

Yes Siggie, my post was in jest. IRS profiling and discrimination of any kind should never be tolerated.

Actually "systematic denial" is somewhat of a misnomer. Of the 97 "conservative" groups whose applications for tax exempt status were delayed by the IRS, zero were actually denied. Of the 3 "liberal" groups whose applications for tax exempt status were delayed during the same time period, all three were denied.
