Re: “Your daily dose of doublespeak

Shades of the old Soviet Union, reporting on the a sports event where the USA won and the USSR came in second.

TASS reported that the US came in next to last and the USSR came in second.

So it goes with Mayor Botch's propaganda ministry.

Re: “UPDATE: State verifies signatures for Morse recall, jockeying begins

Over 37 percent of the submitted signatures were invalid. What a bunch of morons who don't even know if they are registered to vote in District 11. Oh, you mean Senate District 11? Duh. They probably think Al Gore is still VP.

Re: “Your daily dose of doublespeak

We need to hire Joe Izuzu to be the City's spokesman. He has more credibility than the current crop of hacks and flacks.

Re: “UPDATE: State verifies signatures for Morse recall, jockeying begins

The signatures to be gathered was never in question - and it will take a huge turnout from District 11 voters opposed to John Morse to make this recall happen. We do not think it will be successful. If you would like to volunteer to assist in the process to encourage voters to keep Senator Morse in office, you can sign up below.

Re: “The Top 11 best beers in the country

What we need is a list of all the best Colorado beers...these guys have obviously never tried Eddy Line for example.

Re: “Red Rocks' regrettable reminder

All women should take self defense classes, carry a gun (know how to use it, practice with it), and USE IT!!! Then use a Taser on him and then mace him then kick the shit out of him then call the police. When people realize it's up to them to protect themselves because there will never be police protection during normal life, that's when the numbers of these crimes will drop. And when the criminals start to understand that they may be killed committing there crime, the numbers will drop.

Re: “After fleet, city will turn to the Fire Department for more savings

Mayor wants to OUTSOURCE EVERYTHING! ALL City employees should be worried about there jobs.

2013 Executive Branch
Breakthrough Strategies
Executive Branch Administration
 Lead pension reform: Form a Pension Solutions Team no later than January 2013 to propose and
gain support for legislation result in sustainable pension plans and reduce the City’s pension
costs.
Goals:
 Support an increase in private sector civilians employed by an average of 6,000 per
year by being the most business and citizen friendly city of our size in the United States
of America.
 Develop a definitive plan to continue outsourcing and implement community partnerships to
provide park maintenance services by Q1 2013.
 Increase road and stormwater maintenance: Add $2 million more in stormwater and $2 million
more in Streets capital projects to be completed by private contractors.
 Streetlights, Bus Service, and Snow Plowing: Turn on the remaining 3,500 streetlights, provide

Re: “Black Forest Fire 75 percent contained

It will be up to the Indy to dig deeper into this fire story. Why were there only 150 firefighters fighting the fire a day and a half in but over a thousand when it was almost put out? Why was the county so grossly unprepared for a fire in the Black "Forest"? Was internal advice ignored? The local tv will not do this story. For them this was just a news event. Sheriff Maketa was a hero. There were lots of silver linings and endless "how do you really feel questions?"

Re: “Pico: 'I am clear' in Serco arrangement

All of this would have been much easier if the Mayor and Council had chosen to air the subject before making a decision on laying off so many city workers. Democracy is messy but it flourishes best in the open. Too many recent city decisions smack of oligarchy and are hidden from the public as personnel matters.

Re: “After fleet, city will turn to the Fire Department for more savings

I believe the City should end negotiations with this business headquartered in a Foreign country and step back, take another look and the REAL numbers of so called cost savings vs value and get PERA down here to explain to the people how them numbers don't work.

Re: “Pico: 'I am clear' in Serco arrangement

I don't believe former Councilman Guman's comments regarding recusal and the Code of Ethics are directed at our newly elected Councilman Pico; rather, I believe, they are aimed at citizens with the intention of informing them of a potential conflict of interest.

Re: “Mark Barker rushed to hospital, recovery expected

Mark is one of the hardest working Representatives that I have met lately; having met 4 in the last year and asking them all about their agenda's (ok, maybe 5) and he is all business and trying to best represent the wishes of the God-fearing people of this state to perpetuate and increase the goodwill of the people.

Re: “More trouble at Colorado's toxicology lab

So, if the lab did shoddy work and cases are thrown out and convictions overturned, does Colorado re-imburse defendants for what they paid in fines, court costs, legal fees, loss of income, etc? Could get pricey, but seems the right thing to do.

A bit ironic that highly conservative Colorado Springs now contracts for lab work with a firm in highly liberal Boulder. Gotta love it.
