Re: “Hash oil explosions on the rise

Education is key here. These explosions are happening because people are following YouTube tutorials and doing their extractions without a closed loop system. With the proper equipment and training the risk of explosion is about as high as it is for your gas grill. Not to mention CO2 extraction which has zero chance for explosion. People should have the right to make extracts from their plants in their own homes, or for their neighbors and friends. Making the proper equipment more readily available and affordable while offering or even requiring certification courses is the solution to this problem.

Re: “The general and the whiz kid

"...69% of Halter's money has come from individuals, only 22% of Lamborn's has..."

People claim they want "local control" but if 78% of Lamborn's money comes from out of state firms and billionaires then Lamborn is not the choice for local control.

All agreement MUST be in writing in the state of Colorado. Norris has several documents that acknowledge the agreement. He should be repaid for his generosity!

Re: “Going All the Way

This is a great article, showing so many different perspectives, from those who are truly facing the end of life and the decisions that come with it. It is probably unrealistic to think we know what we will truly feel when we are faced in with those decisions ourselves. I find it encouraging that our generation is talking about death, and thinking about how we want the end of our own life to be.

I am hopeful that Colorado will revisit the laws surrounding physician-assisted death, also known as physician-assisted suicide. Currently there are 4 states that have legalized physician-assisted suicide, but Colorado is not one of them. Those states that have the Death with Dignity Act in place allow patients who are terminally ill to end their suffering and go in peace while under the assistance of a physician. Everyone should be free to choose the comforts they need and request at the end of their life.

This option is not fit for everyone. It is also a very personal and private matter that an individual makes for themselves. A choice, as heavy as this, should be made with the help of a physician, so all of the options are presented before reaching a decision. It helps ease my mind that there are choices and we are discussing them!

Thank you for sharing your article!

Re: “Fed up!

Now I see why she Hates Sheriff Maketa and takes every chance she can to attack him in the Media. He did not support her group or her boy friends causes and actually called them out. Seems Telling that she accuses him of not managing the county's money when he attends the same conference for 1/5 of what she charged the county.

Re: “AFA picks visitor center site

So glad the City has so much money after paying for road repair and storm water drainage that we can pay for a welcome center for the federal government, a hall of fame for a Swiss company that raked in over $8 billion between 2009-2012 and a $90+ million stadium for no team.

Re: “Jonesing for open space

So what would happen theoretically, if the property in question was held by a private owner? Could they still be sued by CBD?

Re: “A new accreditation affirms the Humane Society's practices

They have an ok program called tnr for trap nuter and release, I say ok because it reduces the feral cat population overall, but I am SOOO disappointed and angry that stewie is worth such an expinsive heart surgery, but kittens that need bottle fed are trash. I realize it is hard work, I did it with 4 never having had a cat before and being disabled and I was able to get them all fixed and adopted on my own because HSPPR said they would be killed if I brought them in. I then wrote them and was told that wasn't their policy, it must have been a misunderstanding or miscommunication, but on my tnr re-registration form it isright there in blac and white that if you bring in an unweaned kitten, they will be put down. My other problem with this programs with this program is I was asked to sign if I saw a member of my colony was ill, I was to take it to the vet at MY OWN EXPENSE, find my own food + commit to feeding forever, if I am admitted to the hospital (as I often am, incoherent, I am to find a sub, and I'm never allowed to let them know I am done), and the last thing I think is ridicules to ask of people is to come check at there building to see if any colony members where there, well I don't control wild cats that don't belong to anyone and I don't see them regularly, so I would have to go twice a week and guess if that black cat or calico cat that isn't mine and I don't have an attachment too, so I don't know how I would even recognize it...being disabled all of these things make it impossible for me to sign and say I will do stuff I know I can't do....I think it's ridiculous to expect these things of people that just want to help with the over now I just do what I can without HSPPR, and I tame kittens over 8-10 weeks old that aren't suposed to be tamable and get them placed with a no kill group....and lower the numbers of feral kittens given up on. Just my $.02, but I would love everyone to go to a no kill shelter first and donate to them...

Re: “The shadows know

Wow, I am a bit surprised that citizens trying to make a positive impact on our fine community are being condemned. We should be happy that any citizen willing to get involved regardless of their financial background should be celebrated. We all have the ability to make a difference, in our own way. It takes a village.

Re: “Here's Peggy

Good article on Peggy Littleton, although I don't necessarily agree with the public workforce center needing additional funds either, because there are lots of capable employment agencies in Colorado Springs and room for private workforce centers to spring up too.

Nothing between the ears but a Tammy Faye Baker make-up job, and that alone will get you elected in this county.

Re: “AFA picks visitor center site

The only reason to go to the AFA museum is to watch the cadet formations - at lunchtime on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Other than some historical material on the building of the AFA the contents of the museum are utterly forgettable - thus when they move this offsite the first tourists are sure to wonder why they wasted their time in it.

Re: “A major hitch

What a tangled web we weave...

Anschutz should pay Norris the $1M as a side matter when buying the property, but as this unfolds we'll see how much honor the man has. What's $1M out of $8B?

I went to the rodeo, once, as a newcomer here. Didn't like the sermon preached at the end of the show. Never went back. Never will.

No article in the Gazette. Bwahahahaha....guess we know how much honor he has.

Stop oppressing the helpless and stop making false accusations and spreading vicious rumors. Feed the hungery and those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as day. Isaiah 58: 9-10
