Personally I dont think the or see the so called "Blue haired" people causing the problems. Its the younger folk that act like school children running to the water fountain after recess. Afraid the road will get used up by the guy in front of them or they may not win the prize if they dont get to the next traffic light first. Then you have the blond haired momma in the Subaru mad at you because you dont stop on the highway to let her in when she comes down the on ramp at 30 and traffic is running 60. When ya move to the left lane to let her on she speeds up so ya cant get back over and Mr. Nascar in the pickup runs up on your bumper mad because your running 5 or 10 above the limit trying to get back over but bimbo wont let ya. Thats the foolishness that causes most of the problems. Everybody in a hurry to get to the exact same place in line at the next red light. Ya wonder how 50 car pile ups happen? There it is just calm down, relax, enjoy the ride you will get there. I promise I wont use up the road.
Good riddance to another socialist. Don't let the door hit you on the @$$ on your way out!
Laugesen said she was in the Denver courtroom for Bruce's case, but when she saw Colorado Springs City Councilwoman Helen Collins, she wanted to ask her some questions.
Laugesen told 11 News that as she was attempting to do so, she ended up next to Bruce. She says Bruce grabbed her phone from her hands.
"I prepared to be hit. The look in his eyes was one of malice and violence, and I was afraid at that point in time, then he reconsidered and shoved the phone back into my hands," Laugesen said.
Bruce: "I don't have a temper. I said I never hit a woman in my life and I’m not going to make an exception for her or for anybody else. I am not a violent person, they make this stuff up." LMAO!!!
WIKIPEDIA STATES: In common law, assault is the act of creating apprehension of an imminent harmful or offensive contact with a person.
An assault is carried out by a threat of bodily harm coupled with an apparent, present ability to cause the harm. It is both a crime and a tort and, therefore, may result in either criminal and/or civil liability. Generally, the common law definition is the same in criminal and tort law. There is, however, an additional criminal law category of assault consisting of an attempted but unsuccessful battery. The term is often confused with battery, which involves physical contact. The specific meaning of assault varies between countries, but can refer to an act that causes another to apprehend immediate and personal violence, or in the more limited sense of a threat of violence caused by an immediate show of force.
Battery is a criminal offense involving unlawful physical contact, distinct from assault which is the act of creating apprehension of such contact.
Battery was defined at common law as "any unlawful touching of the person of another by the aggressor himself, or by a substance put in motion by him.
Specific rules regarding battery vary among different jurisdictions, but some elements remain constant across jurisdictions. Battery generally requires that:
1. an offensive touch or contact is made upon the victim, instigated by the actor; and
2. the actor intends or knows that their action will cause the offensive touching.
Under the Model Penal Code and in some jurisdictions, there is battery when the actor acts recklessly without specific intent of causing an offensive contact. Battery is typically classified as either simple or aggravated. Although battery typically occurs in the context of physical altercations, it may also occur under other circumstances, such as in medical cases where a doctor performs a non-consented medical procedure.

At this workshop, you will learn about the profound difference we make when we empower and inspire our members of Congress to action. You will learn how to become an effective advocate for climate solutions. You will learn about our methodology for developing relationships with members of Congress and the local media.
The purpose of Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL)
1. To create the political will for a livable world.
2. To empower individuals to have breakthroughs in exercising their personal and political power.
How does CCL Work?
CCL uses a mix of group empowerment and support which includes monthly national conference calls with a guest speaker. CCL trains volunteers to speak powerfully to their elected officials, the media, and their local communities in order to inspire members of Congress to be leaders and spokespersons for a sustainable climate. CCL volunteers meet with their members of Congress, launch letter-writing campaigns, write letters to the editor and Op/Ed pieces, and generate editorials to promote a sustainable climate.
Event Leader: Susan Secord is a Colorado coordinator for Citizens’ Climate Lobby. In 2013 she was a founding member of the Boulder CCL chapter of which she has been the co-leader ever since. With a background in business and industry training and a public school educator, she is an experienced CCL workshop leader. She is very excited to come to Colorado Springs to support the establishment of a CCL chapter in Colorado District 5. The Colorado Springs CCL chapter will be the tenth chapter in Colorado, and there will now be CCL chapters in every Colorado congressional district.

Christopher Curcio, This is America, we are free to not vote and free to participate in politics in other ways without going into a booth and checking the boxes. What do you want? Mandatory voting.? Your vote rant is old as the hills and is tired. A large number actually do not vote probably because like me they do not want hire a greedy liar who won't change anything for the better and does not give a god damn rats ass about you or anyone else. You voters keep electing idiots and sociopaths that violate my Rights, keep me poor through over-regulation, pass laws without thought or asking (Hickenlooper) etc etc so why don't you all STOP voting? Shame on you for being so stupid and letting them distract you with climate, health care, War on Drugs when the fact is our economy is tanking and they still call it a "recession" and we are "recovering". Most of the stuff you purchase comes from Communist China, Obama is a Socialist and borrows from China trillions of US dollars (almost worthless), borrows from the Federal Reserve, bails out banks and corporations, the minimum wage is lower than 1970. There are 2.3 million people in prison (most are non-violent offenders) and now you can be arrested and jailed without due process if they think you might be a terrorist or maybe later and on and on. Shame on me? I don't think so.
Odin How can "race" information be important for crime statistics and criminology? It is absurd to collect that kind of data especially when you yourself do not know what "race" actually means. If a man has brown skin and was born in USA but appears "Negro" which became "African American" which is "Black" (a color not a race). So if his hub caps are stolen criminologists need this "Black" information? BS! If I say "racism" most will automatically think of "whites" hating "blacks" as though Caucasians are the only practitioners of such a thing, so much so there is a common phrase to refer to non-white racists: "reverse racism". Ridiculous. Furthermore we have a common police practice which I believe to be illegal and that being "racial profiling". Ask your criminologists if traffic stops and arrests of "blacks" went down when it was banned. We know the answer already. Police try every trick to violate your Rights and they lie about it as well. They profile all the time doing traffic stops which does little to prevent or solve crime. My license plates were stolen while still attached to my vehicle. Someone drove that vehicle around this city for three months until the plates expired and left it in a apartment parking lot. I, not police, found it. One flat tire, dead battery, expired tags and empty fuel tanks. Police do not respond to abandoned vehicle calls. They don't seem to do much except stop drivers that they hope are DUI. I wonder how knowing my "race" will aid future crime-solvers? The victim here cannot stop someone from stealing his plates if he saw them. Police are not going to look for them. The crook has little to fear but the "race" of the victim must be filled out on the online report?! Time spent and wasted plus buying new tags. A minute to steal them, not one second spent looking for them, hours and money spent by the victim who is what race ??
Ahriana Platten, You are correct and possibly unaware of police and traffic stop tactics which go beyond the "public safety" hogwash. In many places travelers have cash and belongings confiscated plus are forced to sign statements admitting guilt to breaking some arcane law. Civil forfeiture is the new wave of revenue enhancement for law enforcement. If CSP wanted safety why do they then hide in order to catch you speeding? Visible patrol vehicles slow people down. Some agencies try to ticket drivers who flash lights to warn oncoming traffic of police presence! My grandmother told me years ago that she remembered the CSP being called "The Courtesy Patrol".
For a horror story do a Google search "tenaha texas police corruption". You may never travel again after reading what the DA and police did to travelers there. We are in or close to becoming a police state. I saw a sign last weekend "CSP Saturation..." on Highway 115. It is chilling.
Better than what, happyfew? I chided Odin because he has displayed a definite interest in questions of grammar and usage. I thought he might appreciate the correction. On the other hand, I already know that you do not care, and you did not have to go out of your way to prove it.
Thank you, Frank Pado....and to quote Confessed Old Geezer Hazlehurst, Bill Murray actually is fun, progressive, quarrelsome, delightful, adventurous and amazing. You have my word for it, and no, I am not biased. I firmly believe that you are going to find this new Council dynamic quite energetic and creative and far more interested in solidarity in finding solutions, than we have been struggling under for the past 4 years. Give them a chance to find their rhythm and then everyone out there, try to keep up! (NOTE: that Murray resides in Briargate was a random act of realty decision when he moved here in 2008, not to be held against him.....he would prefer a loft on Tejon Street)
Made it home late and couldn't attend. Please have another group meeting soon, and if possible make it happen on a Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday. My story about my disease and the link to aerosols needs to be heard, and I would love to meet locals that are open-minded and free-thinkers.
P.S. Mark, all of this was verified via the online reporting system.
Exercising the privilege of driving on publicly maintained roads is explicit consent to monitoring. We fully expect CSP to be watching us and our speeds, since it is their job to ensure compliance. There is no expectation of privacy in this case. This is as opposed to "big brother", which monitored exercising rights, without consent, and violated rights/expectations of privacy to do so.
Mark S. Young,
This information is important for crime statistics and criminology.
If you are in Colorado Springs, the report allows you to select the following under "Race":
1) American Indian/Alaskan Native
2) Asian/Pacific Islander
FYI, Hispanic or Latino is not considered a race, it is an ethnic-linguistic group. Most Hispanics are White or some part American Indian, but there are also quite a few Black Hispanics. You would select Hispanic, non-Hispanic, or Unknown under "Ethnicity". Also, reporting ethnicity is indeed optional, race is not.
What speed is reasonable to an "old fart" is not what the standard is. The standard is what is reasonable to normal people, or put a slightly different way, what reasonable people would consider a good speed. If the "blue hair" is only comfortable going 25 in a 45, but a reasonable person would be comfortable driving 40 or faster, then the blue hair should not be driving and is in fact violating the law.
As for the drivers in this town, a great many actually have a clue, if survey's by the insurance organizations are any indication since we typically score well in traffic law knowledge surveys -- they just don't care enough to follow the rules. Which is why red light running and speeding are almost a religion around here.
Some of the more common illegal activities I see:
3) Texting/tweeting/taking pictures or videos -- even at stoplights
4) Running red lights
5) Not wearing seatbelts/Not having children properly restrained
6) Driving with just parking lights on/Not turning headlights on
7) Wearing headphones/earphones
8) Driving under the influence
And of course there are a ton of distracted drivers who are either talking on the phone (especially without a hands free device), smoking, or eating, or two or all three of these at the same time.
Better, Happy, however, it will break down pretty quickly in most cases.
Gave this a listen the other day. If you like Sunday morning public service radio you'll love it. I did not.
Thank you, Jan!
dp72. You could be no more spot on! I witnessed myself what you have laid down here. Saturday nights at the Hungry Farmer were filled with hippies, cowboys, business folk; we all got along. The developers and the xtian right indeed have separated us.
Side note. Where are Mr. Ed and his legions of T-gops Brucers now that we see who they truly are? ENOUGH!
Repeal TABOR immediately, vote in Mary Lou. Let's get moving again.
