Re: “Trash and trash-talking derail community conversation about homelessness

This doesn't just occur downtown - there are camps across the creek from the Goose Gossage park, and further down near Criterium Bike Shop. Some of those are piled with trash - in those areas, there are no facilities of any kind so I presume they're using the creek (which some tents are pitched right next to) for a toilet.

Re: “EPCSO's Special Investigations Fund audited by Department of Justice

You don't say!

Here is good question! Who was held accountable for this stupidity? Was Larry Borland held accountable? Was Brian McPike or Jane Fromme held accountable? Heck, Fromme has been the bookkeeper of those funds for many years now. Did she get disciplined?

It's interesting, Elder and his "little house of horrors" tried hiding this until the DirtyElder website exposed it and the media started snooping! A lot more credibility goes out to the DirtyElder website, that's for sure!

In any event, all along so many EPC and EPSO staff have said Borland, McPike, Fromme, Kniffen, Bell and DeStefano are INCOMPETENT and SHOULD NOT be assigned to jobs that deal with money!!!! This shows one very clear example. What a shame!

Re: “CSPD cop's letter says department is a mess

Hire more officers; Police officers, command staff and Chief have a tough job especially without enough officers. An unsigned, derogatory letter should get zero response.

Re: “Can Colorado Springs get a cannabis-friendly City Council?

Not to appear cavalier when every vote is as critical as it will be this April, but when a candidate says, "I think we should let the people vote", that candidate has my vote. Because of the glaring disconnect between the clear wishes of the people and the recent votes of council (think Strawberry Fields).... I, like General Palmer, will trust the judgement of the people first. I have had enough of Mayor Suther's saying that he opposes taking an issue to a vote unless he has to do so. And I've had enough of council members bowing to the mayor's wishes rather than those of their constituents.

Bill Maher Takes Credit for Milo Yiannopouloss Fall

After taking flak for inviting incendiary alt-right personality Milo Yiannopoulos onto his show Real Time, Bill Maher is now claiming credit for the pundits downfall. What I think people saw was an emotionally needy Ann Coulter wannabe, trying to make a buck off of the lefts propensity for outrage, Maher said. And by the end of the weekend, by dinnertime Monday, hes dropped as a speaker at CPAC. Then hes dropped by Breitbart, and his book deal falls through. As I say, sunlight is the best disinfectant. Youre welcome.

Are you Cheyenne? Ute, Arapaho, Cherokee, Sioux, Navajo, Chippewa or Choctaw (or any of the 566 tribes)? How about Aztec, Inca, Yaqui, Olmec, Zapotec? Mayan? Nope? Then you're a immigrant.

Re: “Can Colorado Springs get a cannabis-friendly City Council?

Which is it going to be folks? Olympic City or Pot City....we have medical MJ on every other corner because 95% of our population must have cancer or other painful medical issues that can't be alleviated with normal meds. Now we have idiots who want Opium dens, excuse me, cannabis clubs. Let's just vote for Cheech and Chong and everyone get high.

What a wonderful place you are creating to raise kids. It's all about MONEY!! This city used to be about Quality of Life....

Re: “Reader: Doug Lamborn, you're totally out of touch with your constituents

Brian Scott:

"This is, overall, a conservative community.
If you want to vote him out, you have to give voters a reasonable alternative."

I agree in principle. In practice, however, El Paso county GOP voters wouldn't recognize a moderate Democrat (or Republican, for that matter) if that candidate wore a sandwich board stating "I AM A MODERATE."

The majority of voters in El Paso county are not interested in moderation. They want revolution. They hate the government. They hate taxes. They hate "policy" and prefer 1950 to 2017. Any electorate that would put Gordon Klingenschmitt in office is an angry and gullible group. That isn't going to change in my lifetime.

"All things in moderation" is good advice. Sadly, it does not apply to El Paso county elections.

Re: “Reader: Doug Lamborn, you're totally out of touch with your constituents

Congressman Lamborn is highly responsive to the concerns of his constituents.
.
What you fail to understand is that he feels that he only represents about 10,000 people in CD-05, and that he can get their views by only meeting face-to-face with about 250 of those. The other 700,000 in the District do not have a representative in Washington.
.
He has his "telephone town halls,"in which his staff selects the questions, and feeds him the answers, all out of sight of any ordinary folk.
.
.
.
but the people who consistently return him to office are the liberal progressive Democrats who refuse to nominate a moderate, or dare I suggest, a conservative candidate.
This is, overall, a conservative community.
If you want to vote him out, you have to give voters a reasonable alternative.
.
In 2006, a Conservative Democrat ran for the nomination, against Jay Fawcett and the donkey guy (Curtis Imrie.) At the CD-05 convention in Greeley, he - I - got spanked, drawing about 4% of the vote. Heck, the donkey guy got more than double what I got.
Sure, I was a flawed candidate. But as a conservative, there was at least the possibility of beating Lamborn.

Re: “Can Colorado Springs get a cannabis-friendly City Council?

The 'make-up' or composition of the incoming city council will impact not only positions on the marijuana issue, but a number of issues to come up on their watch - which candidates to you feel will win each district seat? How important do you feel 'endorsements' are from political, civic, business, and trade groups to a candidate? Please consider two minutes to weigh in and give your thoughts and comments. Thank you.

Re: “CSPD hands a records headache to District Attorney's Office

At the age of 54 I started experiencing lack of muscle control when performing strenuous exercise. It was very periodic, as I got older, the episodes became more frequent, and I started experiencing voice box spasms, excessive sweating, and trouble swallowing. I also started to have episodes when I wasn't so active. My family doctor wasn't able to diagnose my problem, but I was sent to a neurologist and they diagnosed it as Parkinson's. All medications given were not working i had to look for an alternative treatment. I read in a health forum of a herbal clinic in Johannesburg who has a successful treatment to P.D, i immediately contacted the herbal clinic via their website (www.Healthherbalclinic.weebly.com) and purchased the parkinson's herbal formula. I received the parkinson's herbal treatment via courier and immediately commenced usage, i only used the herbal remedy for 7 weeks all my symptoms were unbelievably reversed, i did another series of test i was confirmed free of parkinson's. Visit (www.healthherbalclinic.weebly.com) or email (healthherbalclinic@gmail.com)
