Good article. This is what art is to me, whether a drawing or painting. Thanks for capturing the quote.
"How do you describe that fleeting look between confidants? That particular sway of a woman's arm? That which turns a face into a likeness?"
Are all the spots taken for this Saturday? I'm organizing the Colorado Springs leg of a Cultural Tour of Tibetan Monks coming to town Sept. 9 - 14th. Would like to know if this might be a good way to get the word out about their events (sand mandala, meditation, talks, cultural pageant, prayer stone workshop)?
It was such a great first event! Thanks so much Crystal for organizing and mc-ing and I will most definitely be there for the next event this Saturday!
Hey Hannah and the Indy! Nice article. Thanks for the write up!
I think that Roy Linton's satirical poster (the start the day with a smile one) is better than Councilman Kings. Maybe Roy should should share it with both the Mayor and King.
The Gutenberg press stuff is pretty cool. But if you want to see the first printing press, might I recommend a class in Cantonese?
This exhibit must be really great for the author to come away feeling so good about, given his honest givens...I commend Bret for his honesty and good reporting.
Just a reminder that Voodoo is hosting No Pants Thursday this week - June 27th - from 7-9pm. The session will be facilitated by Broken Glass Photography. $10 per person or $5 for Voodoo members.
Great article RyAnne! Colorado Springs has had an enormous and active fetish community for over 15 years and it's great to finally have a place for fetish artists to express themselves. Thank you so much!
The Indy couldn't find ONE single photograph of this Unique art and artist to grace the article with, so as to help familiarize the reader with what you are talking about, and possibly stir up interest in the Show, the Artist, the ART?????
Heaven forbid one might use VISUALS for an article regarding VISUAL ART....Dur.
I know this if off topic, but that's an adorable dress in the photo! Any idea where it's from? (Also: thanks for the info about the show; it sounds wonderful)

Great opportunity to tell folks where to recycle Styrofoam so it doesn't go into landfills. El Paso County has a Recycling Guide on its website. Folks can take clean chunks to Tegrant Corp, 1100 W Garden of the Gods.
CC Students do the crystal stuff...America is about a faithful populace, not a bunch of gazing a crystals.
TejonTech, you know, so you say, that CC graduates "hate America, love Obama, and want a life handed to them," yet you "wonder how well they know the bible!" How sad your omniscience failed right in the middle of your seance! Do you prefer gazing into crystals or reading tea leaves?
I wonder how well they know the bible at CC and its influence on American's underlying assumptions, so they can live effectively in America after graduation...there is a reason these people are unemployable after four years of brain washing.
The liberal faculties at these over priced institutions are the reason for the narcissistic young people who are both not work ready and hate America, who love Obama and want a life handed to them.
Thanks for sharing some of Jay's process. His work seems to be a lot about how we view space and our environment. The installations of his I have seen (through photos) have an effect to the viewer that can be disorienting.
I hope to get a chance to see some of his work in reality (non digital) some day.
I wish I had the courage to do a slam, with a strong voice, loud as the rolling sea, and so much to say, I know I would just freeze up.. hope everyone does good. good luck and thank you luke for all that you do.
THANK YOU LUKE FOR ALL YOU DO FOR ALL OF US.
This is going to be one crazy ride!!! commUNITY! For the people by the people!!!!
