Re: “New operator of local for-profit college tries — and fails — to rebrand

I went to the fully-accredited for-profit University of Phoenix and I can honestly say I received an exemplary education and it was much better than any education at any not-for-profit state public universities I have attended. I learned amazing skills and consider myself a scholar who is published and notable in his field. The University of Phoenix curriculum was rigorous, meaningful, relevant, and applicable. Not all for-profit schools are "bad" and many schools are changing and adapting to the new rules, for the better! Oh, and let us not start a new form of discrimination where we discriminate against for-profit graduates. These are some of the hardest working Americans I know! And those who complain about not finishing UoPx… they could not handle the rigor. Do not ever undermine anyone’s education. I love the University of Phoenix, enrolling students since 1976, and so do its 1,000,000 Alumni!! Finally, DO NOT forget that the University of Phoenix educated the non-traditional students and I thank the University of Phoenix! The University filled a demand where “traditional” academia would NOT!

Re: “ColoradoCare, Donald Trump, Palmer Park improvements, and more

Don McCullen:

I am a progressive pagan and I would be ok having the AHA pay taxes along with all religious organizations, churches, political non-profits and any other organizations that brings in an income.

I do disagree that I want to replace God with Government. To me they are separate entities that have differing functions, and it is completely illogical to an atheist. How can an atheist replace God with Government, to them God does not exist. So, there is nothing to replace.

...and this comment that progressivism is "A religion that tells people it's ok to steal, covert, and murder for the greater good." I don't even know how to make sense out of that, but if the source is Steve Deace, well that explains it, and not even worth debating.

Re: “ColoradoCare, Donald Trump, Palmer Park improvements, and more

Unless they are involved in Progressive Politics longtooth. Right??? Will the American Humanist Association start paying taxes??? I doubt it cause they carry the water for the Progressive agenda as well. Progressive is not just poltical ideals, its also a Religion. A religion that tells people its ok to steal, covert, and murder for the greater good.

"We need to realize progressivism isn't a political ideology. It is a cult. A heresy that seeks to replace the church with its own religion. Replacing God with government. You can't defeat a heresy with a political party. Especially when the leaders of both parties are adherents to it to varying degrees. Only the church is capable to defeat a heresy. Progressivism is the heresy of this age."-Steve Deace

Re: “New operator of local for-profit college tries — and fails — to rebrand

So at CTU, only 16% graduate and the average student sinks with $35K of debt.

Makes perfect sense. Ain't capitalism great?

Re: “ColoradoCare, Donald Trump, Palmer Park improvements, and more

Dave Beckwith: While you are correct about conflating the two pieces, Amendment 69 is not the solution. In simple terms, Colorado can't afford it. Health begins with the individual, not the state and not the insurance companies.

Larimore Nicholl: What makes you think she isn't?

Bob Kinsey: Channeling Adam Smith, champion of the free market, to call for the election of the watermelon Greens, who never met a free market they didn't hate, is disingenuous and completely ridiculous. They aren't another choice, unless one wants Hillary and Trump on steroids instead of simple common sense. That's yet another reason why the only sane and rational choice is to vote for your freedom and vote Libertarian.

Sally Alberts: The Hillarbillies are no better. Yes, America has gone mad. And you can blame both Democrats and Republicans for it, because they both are guilty of causing it and continuing it.

Re: “CO House District 18 race is assured

So we have a useless Clintonite incumbent in Lee, a Trumpster Diver in Forth, and a Libertarian in Norman Dawson, MBA.

I'll take the MBA Libertarian.

When even the liberals think it's bad, it's bad.

Vote NO on 69.

Or, they could take a different approach and run the PD like the FD and keep them in the station until a call comes in.

Re: “Commentary: CSPD operates under a veil of mystery

You post that the CSPD responded "none of your beeswax". Seems journalistically irresponsible to place something in quotes when it is not a direct quote. Work on your journalistic integrity, Ms Zubeck.

May I also point out that the fact you have to keep scrounging up this same story over and over is indicative of the fact this this is NOT the norm at CSPD, as you repeatedly imply in your coverage. Otherwise, I'm certain you'd have new material every day, given the several thousand contacts CSPD makes every single week. If CSPD were brutalizing citizens on the regular without cause, maybe you'd be able to stop beating THIS dead horse.

Re: “Bible approved for AFB desk

So the same person who approved said bible is the one investigating? Gee, that's not a conflict of interest or anything.

Watch an officer put out a highlighted copy of ANY other religious text, and he'd have it removed so fast his head would spin. Government officials may not endorse religion. Period.

Re: “Bible approved for AFB desk

I GUESS WE WILL HAVE TO GET THE ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) TO SUE THEM ON THIS MATTER: MRFF founder Mikey Weinstein called the investigation "a sham and a travesty," because Col. Lisa Johnson, the commander who approved the Bible's placement in the first place, apparently was the one in charge of the investigation. That hasn't been confirmed by the Air Force, however.

Re: “Hope swings eternal

Diane, Solo didn't as much 'walk back' her comments as to explain them. Paraphrasing: she's a bad loser, apparently, so that's OK then. If you can show me a professional athlete who's a good loser, I'll show a professional athlete who should be preparing for a very short career. Her follow up comments were the furthest thing from an apology that one can imagine: http://nypost.com/2016/08/13/hope-solo-adm….

Part of the reason Solo is being so vilified is because this is just the next in a LONG line of outbursts from her, pillorying her USWNT predecessors, former coaches, opposing team coaches, and just about anyone else who gets her back up.

I'm not going to call her out for her passion - in fact, I applaud that. I won't apologize though for being another to bring attention to the inappropriate way in which she conducts herself. So to clarify, you're quite happy with what she said and how she represented herself, her team, and her nation at the Olympics? You would just rather she got a pass?

Re: “Fewer Colorado Springs cops work the streets as crime rises

teabagger mentality is wait until the problem is overwhelming and will cost 10 times more to fix it... but save a few pennies today... teabagger city will never change until we elect people who will think beyond the next day, month or year. let crime get really bad... where it effects some rich old farts and then we will see some action... just like they did with the roads. freaking teabagger mentality is killing this town.
