To be clear, we want readers to know that testing of samples from inside the Trestle Building did not detect any suspicious substances connected to the demolition site. The test results on dirt from the outside of the building, however, showed carcinogens were present. Those areas have since been covered with mulch and dirt, as advised by the testing company.

Let's review: Koch brothers are libertarians and George Soros is a communist/socialist.
If the Koch bros helped get Bach elected, Soros certainly helped Obama get elected. Who do you think is going to do more damage to our country?

Whew...it is really like a new king instead of a public servant within an existing system has arrived.
I find the sweeping reforms to be dismissive of the past elected officials and rather unnerving for citizens wondering what sort of totalitarianism has taken over our city.
The hubris is stunning.

The fight over Utilities is not over.
There is still an active study on when and how to decommission the Drake plant.
That study is where the impetus will be found for Mayor Botch's possible sale of CS Utilities, which is a serious goal for Mayor Botch's developer buddy Steve Schuck.
Stay tuned. Keep Pam on the trail of these schemers.

Not allowing "negative" comments and making citizens wait in the foyer while they have their closed door sessions are just typical stunts of Koch Bros puppets who have nothing but contempt for citizens. It's a way of stifling democracy, which fascists like the Kochs and their puppets despise.

Council simply is doing the bidding of the Koch Bros.
For those who aren't aware of the Koch's, they've made fortunes in oil and coal and are just seeing to it that their fortunes grow - our city and it's people be damned. They are delaying the inevitable so they can protect their passe fossil fuel empires.
Koch money elected Mayor Botch, and Botch's buddy King is now pursuing a Koch agenda.
As far as subsidizing things, it's about time we stopped spending $4B of OUR tax dollars each year to subsidize an oil industry that made $140B in profits last year. How much is enough?

Seems to me someone ought to go into council and disparage every one of them, dare to be arrested (or whatever the penalty might be), then sue the pants off of CS for 1st Amendment violations.

Excellent post Paul. When the government gets involved and spends our money on their pet cause of the hour we end up with fiascos like Solyndra. The government doesn't care. It isn't their money.

Courtney, Kat Tudor and Don Goede did have samples taken from American the Beautiful Park. Many contaminants were not detected, but some were, although at miniscule levels. As Tom Antonson says, though, these substances aren't safe at any level.
After our deadline, we received the city's response to our question on this, which said: "The City does not have plans to test the soil at America the Beautiful Park in relation to the project at 25 Cimino. Multiple environmental studies were performed on the ATB property in the late 1990s and early 2000s, prior to it becoming a park."
What the city's response doesn't address, however, is the possibility that the recent demolition project might have resulted in some particles escaping the demolition site.

Not a sole is against solar, what they are against is subsidized solar! For over thirty years we have subsidized the solar programs from the Federal level on down and YES that is our money from the FEDS! If you want solar, then pay for it in full as an investor, place it on your house, business or buy it from a solar garden and reap the benefits from the investment that you made if there is one from KW not purchased from the local Not-for-Profit Citizen owned utility. Everyone points to the AFA and their new solar array that is saving them from PURCHASING KW from CSU, we are not rebating them money from our local utility for installing and maintaining this array! If the solar gardens (as a business) want to sell the KW produced then do it at the local cost to produce a KW hour from our local power plants using coal or natural gas. The cost of solar is going down daily and I challenge the industry to as true entrepreneurs, make your product competitive, find the private investors/banks borrow the money and build your business and the industry, the Future is Calling!

Has there been any testing at America the Beautiful Park? That would be really nice to know since contamination there affects thousands and thousands of our city's residents, including, most importantly, our city's children.

Sorry, TejonTech, for any confusion. I was making fun of calliescalia's writing. She obviously meant for the phrase, "As a married woman..." to refer to herself, but the way it came out, it referred to Brittain.
At any rate, I do not believe she is a real person, but either Craig himself or a cohort posing as an independent observer.

hi my name is nichola i lost 4 children 2 to luekemia 2 to aflood along wit my mother too lost all that i own im thankful for gods grace in helping me not to give up in life came close im tryin to get started over it has not been easy but i know wit god in my corner i can and will go foreward in life i do recieve an income disability on the 3rd of every month tryin to find an apartment and a good church to cotinue my walk in and with the lord if anyone can please help me i pray for that prayer for a new start and good friends would like to live in coloradosprings as my home! thank you so very much may god bless yu as well in your walk in life

Yet the same city holds local organizations and businesses to the hardest and most stringent standards, inspections, fees, and fines that make doing business nearly impossible.
Every venture looks to city officials like more money for bonuses and big severance packages for themselves. It is one big money grab for those blessed with election and employment into the city brotherhood.
