Re: “Councilor Don Knight's anti-pot crusade

quote:"Councilor Don Knight says military perceptions influence his strategy. "

quote:" So how are active military members, bound by federal law, affected by Colorado's legal marijuana? An Army report obtained by the Gazette earlier this year shows the number of positive drug tests for marijuana last year at Fort Carson dipped to 422 from 725 the year prior to legalization."

SO WHATS THE PROBLEM DON KNIGHT?

Re: “Councilor Don Knight's anti-pot crusade

Tannim I dont think its the DOD doing the complaining never really has been its our city leaders trying to use the Army Post to keep pot out of our nice clean cut city. I think I threw up a little after reading what I wrote. But truth is we heard the same BS when we voted for Medical weed and we have heard it over and over again. The sky is falling, the Army will leave, we will have Zombies and they still havent figured it out. Pots been here longer then he has, everywhere the Army is stationed theres pot. I bet there was pot at the Pentagon when he was walking the halls. But hes the leader of the Colorado Springs Justice league he will make sure no one smokes a joint in a private club all while proclaiming freedom and liberty for all over a Martini at his favorite private club.

"An Army report obtained by the Gazette earlier this year shows the number of positive drug tests for marijuana last year at Fort Carson dipped to 422 from 725 the year prior to legalization."

Thus proving that the DoD's hysterical freak-out over legalization was nothing more than their own blowing smoke, as most of us already knew. They even admit it in this article:

"Whatever's legal in a city or state doesn't matter."

In other words, it always about the mission, not the location. Old news to most of us, but apparently lost on City Council in their myopic cluelessness.

Knight would be smart to end his windmill tilting, since the overturn of Council's opt-out is not only inevitable, but coming sooner than everyone thinks. The Old Guard is heading out the door, and they don't even see it coming.

Re: “Cannabis clubs mobilize, take on anti-marijuana legislation

I fail to see what the difference is between liquor stores where alcohol is sold retail and bars where alcohol is consumed and dispensaries where cannabis is sold retail and cannabis clubs where cannabis is consumed. Someone care to explain this to me?

Re: “Council wants cannabis clubs out; clubs dig in heels

I love republicans......they don't want government regulations and worship at the alter of unfettered capitalism---------UNLESS--------it's something they don't like.....then they want to regulate it out of existence. If I remember right......even the people of Colorado Springs voted for recreational weed. I guess you could call the majority of the city councilman-activist councilman- that ignor the will of the people.

Re: “Council wants cannabis clubs out; clubs dig in heels

People like Don Knight do not belong in an office that represents the people.
He is only representing himself.
As far as this "Olympic City" stuff goes-I moved here a little over a year ago and besides the little markers at the Costco I don't see anything Olympic about this city. Seriously- where is all this national stuff- This city looks like an old dusty mining town

Re: “Ex-cop speaks out on behalf of cannabis clubs

I agree. Regulate them. Don't shut them down. The clubs appeal to a small faction of the community. I don't think they are a treat to the health and well being of our citizens. I'm a member of one and frankly, I get bored because of lack of patrons. Even on weekend nights they are not well attended. For that matter, bars are more of a threat by the sheer numbers of them, comparatively. And, I don't see an outcry by citizens to limit the numbers of bars in town.

Re: “County Commissioners to marijuana businesses: Green crosses have got to go

The Green Cross has got to go?!?! What a joke, people find reasons to poke and prod for whatever reason possible.. just so they can fuck with people over and over again, and make their lives miserable...but it's okay to have a Red Cross though, and give people a bunch of synthetic patented chemicals that have 10 - 15 side effects for each pill they give you, that will either make you want to kill yourself or kill you in the process....soo don't worry about that red cross, yaaaa...those green crosses are the ones we got to worry about!!

Re: “CannaBiz: Troubles with lawyers and MMJ

This is a going to be something of debate for many years to come. This has become a polarizing subject and it will probably get nasty before it gets better.
