Re: “Memorial lease, feeding hungry kids, ColoradoCare, and more

Kudos Jay...thank you for the factual layout on how ColoradoCare affects businesses.

What Dan Lewis is doing is the same despicable threats that the Koch Brothers, Papa Johns and some other right wing companies including a local Colorado Springs builder (can't remember the name) did during the 2014 presidential elections. It was all lies.

They will tell their employees if they don't vote the way they want them to, their jobs are in jeopardy. It is so despicable, just another ugly means that republicans do to subvert our democracy.

It has become apparent, that republicans hate democracy, and subvert it by threatening jobs, voter suppression laws etc.

Thank you for shining a factual light on the subject.

Re: “Memorial lease, feeding hungry kids, ColoradoCare, and more

hey the article does not take into account that once colorado care passes.... the business wont need extra insurance. (minus the 7% cost) ((( Colorado Care cost is 10% total, 6.5% paid by the employer and 3.5% paid by the he saves 1%. he wont have to fire anyone hes just blowing smoke.))) The fact he pays 20% above normal might have something to do with his losses i mean lets be real here huh? Colorado care is a good idea.

here's the portion about costs in the amendment.

(CHI estimates ColoradoCare would bring in $36 billion in its first year and cover 4.4 million people. It would be run by a board of directors and would likely go into effect in 2019, after a preliminary period during which it would charge a tax of .09 percent. When running, it would be funded mainly by a 10 percent income tax, two-thirds paid by employers, one-third paid by employees. The self-employed would pay the full 10 percent tax.)

Re: “Being Muslim in Colorado Springs

Muslims really need to try understand that they are walking dead by virtue of worshipping one of Satan's alter-egos - the idol of Baal in Mecca - to which they kneel under a crescent moon in their mosques.
The true GOD YHWH, Father of Jesus and all us humans repeatedly destroyed the followers of Baal and His Son, Jesus, repeated this is the fate of idolaters like Muslims in Revelation 22:15.
Unfortunately all Muslims have ears and eyes blocked by Satan and will not open a Bible or listen to any logic or reason and so they walk in Satanic ignorance to their destruction.

It would be a truly Christian act if anyone can get to the young women in the article and have them read Rev 22:15 or 1 Corinthians 6:9 both of which state: '9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men.'

Unfortunately the women will claim any such effort is hate crime just as any homosexual, lesbian or pedophile would if confronted with their fate.
So basically Muslims have to be left to walk to their doom along with homosexuals, lesbians and pedos.

I was disappointed when Brandi Williams lost to Keith King last election- I'd like to see her back on council. We need new faces and new thoughts on all levels

Re: “Shield 616 protects the protectors

Stop picking on Robert Lewis Dear? Yeah, because when he shot and killed multiple people "for the babies" (WTF!?) he really proved himself to be a functioning and well-respected member of our community and thus, we really shouldn't make a biug deal out of his human hunting.

This city is certifiably insane. You will protest the establishment of a second methadone clinic because "dangerous criminals congregate there" and refuse to offer a needle exchange or even view those with substance dependencies as human beings... And yet you bemoan the media's coverage of a man that literally and purposefully took the lives of others!

Tannim, those who disagree with you are not idiots, are not brain damaged and probably don't have cooties.

The name calling is beneath you, how about keeping the conversation and our debates respectful.

Re: “Memorial lease, feeding hungry kids, ColoradoCare, and more

I would like to remind my friend LibertyForAll that President Obama had democratic majorities in both chambers for the first two years of his presidency. Hardly "..much of BO"s term", more like 25% of his term, if my math and facts are correct.

During those first two years, much was going on and much was accomplished. Remember, we were in a financial collapse like none of us alive have seen in this country. By the third quarter of his first term June 2008, we were out of the recession, yes, it was a slow recovery, but the recovery had started. This was in large part due to the economic recovery bill past by the Democratic held congress. They also passed the Affordable Care Act during that time. Those we both huge accomplishments, regardless whether you supported either of those bills, as I am sure none of you Springs conservatives do, doesn't matter they were still accomplishments, meaning they did something to try and make things better for the people.

The accomplishments ceased and the "do nothing" congress began in 2010, when the Republicans took over the house and has continued even when they got both houses in 2014.

So, most of President Obama's term in office has been with a "do nothing" divided government, like 75% of his term in office, if my math and facts are correct.

What is the lesson learned from this....
If you want our Government to work for the people again, elect Hillary Clinton as president and give her a Democratic controlled congress and it will no longer be more of the same. Shit will get done!

Re: “Memorial lease, feeding hungry kids, ColoradoCare, and more

Dan Lewis: at least you know what running a payroll means. The idiots promoting 69 don't.

Physicians for ColoradoCare: Heal thyself. You are clearly suffering from brain damage if you think 69 will accomplish those goals, because it clearly won't.

Brent I. Weiner: But you still have cooties.

Janet Brazill: Not getting anything done is actually an accomplishment since Congress as a rule stinks.

Re: “DEA's long-awaited rescheduling decision may be 'blessing in disguise' for reformers

The DEA, media and others are misleading the public. - It is NOT necessary for marijuana to have ANY medical benefits to be removed from the list of scheduled drugs. Far more harmful alcohol and tobacco have no medical benefits and they are not on the list. - The president can simply DE-schedule marijuana through his Attorney General.

End the federal marijuana prohibition with two clicks!…

Re: “Memorial lease, feeding hungry kids, ColoradoCare, and more

"that's exactly how it went with Congress blocking him so much that he had to resort to executive powers to accomplish the many good things he did"

Janet forgets/ignores the fact that the Dems held majorities in both chambers for much of BO's terms, and thus, did the most blocking of either party. When you can't even work with liberal/regressive legislators ostensibly on "your side", you own a radical agenda, and if you resort to executive governance through fiat ro circumvent the role of the legislative branch, you've overstepped your bounds in a most egregious fashion.

Re: “Former employees speak out against accused "pot doc"

The cause of this niche business is the stupidity of making all marijuana dispensaries in some cities medical. It cost nearly half to shop at a medical shop with a card.
It's time to deschedule.
It's time to measure medical doses so patients can be sure they get consistent products.

Re: “Former employees speak out against accused "pot doc"

Doctors will not discuss the use of marijuana with patients. Unless someone is dying from cancer a primary care physician will not sign the paperwork for fear of Federal retribution on their prescription number. This has created a niche for what many will call a marijuana Dr. For over 10 years I talked to Dr.'s about pain management for my back and all them said just use it BUT I can't sign that paperwork.

While some of these Dr.'s are just signing paperwork they are consulting with the patient as required by law. Make no mistake that they are able to make money for signing their paperwork and see many patients in a day because a niche market has been created because they are the only Dr's willing to make the medical marijuana recommendation.

I don't approve of the price gauging for the visit, the charge for plant counts or not having proper ID. I do know I use the same Dr. every year for renewal and have discussed the medical records that I brought from my primary Dr and my MRI.
