Re: “City to take on cannabis clubs, and more

A64 is legit, the other clubs are selling marijuana, no packaging requirements, no oversite, no grow requirements, no hash production requirements, nothing that all the dispensaries have to follow as far as rules and reggulations. No license fees and you CAN be a felon. So so soooooooo unfair to the people really trying to play by the rules(dispensary owners). I hope he does crack down, this has gone on wayyyyy too long, there is a reasin the clubs
are banned in other cities

Re: “City to take on cannabis clubs, and more

I find it especially appalling that the Mayor refused to comment to the public about his plans. The top public servant refuses to explain himself to his Masters. I propose a new law… one that requires every public employee who draws their paycheck out of the public coffers to wear a butler/maid uniform. Maybe we all need a constant visual reminder of what their job title actually is beneath all the legal mumbo-jumbo.

Re: “City to take on cannabis clubs, and more

Is there no place left where a person is simply free to peacefully do as they please as long as they do no harm to others? I'm really curious what problem the mayor is hoping to fix with a new set of laws regulating social clubs. I've had many great nights at StudioA64 and never once did I have the feeling that it would have been better if only there were a couple more laws regulating our voluntary interactions with one another.

Re: “City to take on cannabis clubs, and more

I actually expected the mayor to pull something like this. I give my full support to the cannabis clubs and cannabis community of Colorado Springs. I have been helped tremendously by the cannabis community and the clubs in particular. They are not only a safe place to go and enjoy the company of friends while medicating they have been a big supporter of the cannabis refugees. I have even been at risk of having my electricity turned off and the Speakeasy held a fundraiser to keep it on. Members of the 420 Speakeasy has helped me with medicine when I have been out and The A64 club has always included me in all events and treated me like family. As the old saying goes,"If something isn't broke don't try to fix it. The cannabis clubs are operating as they should be, benefiting the community while educating on the benefits of cannabis and fighting to end prohibition. I see no reason for the mayor to interfere and try to make changes to an already wonderful industry.

Re: “The next chapter of Suthers' regulatory legacy

I suspect that much like Mayor Bach, Suthers will be too busy helping the local business elite divert working class tax dollars towards our new ultimate frisbee stadium and whatever other interests his devoloper pimps feel are important to have time to worry about weed. The good news is that there is still plenty of weed for everyone, and unlike other cities we can get it tax free. Now about those potholes...... How can we possibly raise the money to get those fixed? All the dodging and weaving going on has got to offend the Mayors sense of conservative order.

Re: “City to take on cannabis clubs, and more

Mr. Stark's Studio A64 Cannabis Club has helped me tremendously. My family came here from Texas as Cannabis Refugees to to save my life from epilepsy. Studio A64 was the only place that I could medicate legally, since we were staying in a hotel. I could not medicate in the hotel, or in the parking lot, or even sit in our car in parking lot to medicate, without breaking Colorado Laws on Public Cannabis Smoking, and DUI. Studio A64 gave me a safe place to medicate, relax, and enjoy myself after having 10-50 seizures daily in Texas, I am now 51 days Seizure Free on Cannabis in Colorado Springs. Studio A64 is a MUST HAVE in Colorado Springs, so we can have a safe, relaxing place to enjoy recreational Cannabis or Medicinal Cannabis, without breaking your laws!

Re: “City to take on cannabis clubs, and more

For once and for all we shall set this case to rest. It's time. It's not in the job of any administration to selectively target anyone or any business (especially,, which was historically approved by the City of Colorado Springs Planning and Zoning Commission as well as the Colorado Springs City Council on April, 22nd, 2014)

Marijuana Meddling…

The kind and honest Lt. Mark Comte admits that is has not shown to be an issue in regards to calls for public saftey. Indeed we're the most likely place in the city NOT to have a problem. Bars, Subways, Banks, and 7-11s have shown statistically to be more likely to draw criminal activity.

Re: “City to take on cannabis clubs, and more

Thank you for your reporting, Bryce. I spoke with the mayor's office two days ago and look forward to working with the administration and city council to insure safe, responsible and full constitutional access for patients, and adults in accordance with our Colorado Constitutional rights and our Bill of Rights.…

"How many of our proud Confederate flag flyers will own up to their part? How many of our proud and patriotic Second Amendment lunatics will stand with him and own up to their responsibility?" - John Birkhead

Neither group is responsible for his actions. The mere fact that you demonize groups shows you are really no better than he is.

Re: “The next chapter of Suthers' regulatory legacy

Sam & John: Mr. Suthers knows the territory, i.e., he's mayor where a majority of voters are both reactionary and regressive, thus he's okay with dragging us back to the dark ages where the American Taliban here want to take the whole nation. The country will move on but this city will be a museum and case study of how to become both a laughing stock and an irrelevant wart on the ass of America.

The Mayor want's to stifle the only business that is growing in the Springs? It's legal to grow Marijuana in my basement as long at the electrical system is safe.

Re: “U.S. Cannabis Expo comes in June and more

Vendors and speakers: A+. Melissa Will and the Expo: F. By far the worst managed expo I've seen in 6 years. The organizers were amiture at best and fraudulently incompetent at the worst. From broken promises to empty halls, comments included, "poorly managed" "no keynote speaker support" "waste of time and money"

The U.S. Cannabis Expo did more harm than good to the industry. Tip of the hat to all the exhibitors and Keynotes, shame on the abject failure of the event owners.

From dirty floors to dirty event insults, this was the Expo that was a No Go. At no time in 12 hours did I see more visitors than venders on the event floor.

U.S. cannabis expo? it looked more like the U.S. Expo fraud.

Re: “Utilities has it both ways

Remember this?…

Yep, Gary Bostrom was deeply involved in SDS and this frivolous and wasteful spending of our rate dollars. What is the current status of these houses? Are they still be rented by the previous owners for $300 per month - well below market rent? What a guy - good riddance Gary Bostrom.

Re: “Our jet-setters, homage to an Air Force hero, and more

Mr. Liberty Who? We had the Ex Madam Mayor that when in office tried the same thing there doing now except then it was going to be a convention center. We ended up with a park that we cant keep up with. We had a Political Lawyer thats now our Mayor. Hes going to cost us. The only one was Miller he left the Council to run but was rejected by voters because of the money issue you talk of. I personally think our elections are paid for and decided long before any ballots are even printed and our politicians are recycled as long as they play nice with the club once there in. Most of the news organizations are owned and ran by those that make the political careers so there no help. Voters only here what the money men want them to here or pay to let them here. So where should these voters go to get informed? The citizens have no money to have a voice so they have given up even trying and just do there best to survive. The honest man wont take the chance on going broke fighting back. The voters are the only ones that could hold them accountable and they wont because they have been convinced by these same people there liberty may be infringed on if they allow some other fella to have some liberties. I fell for the "YES WE CAN" in the last National election what I got was Yes WE Can PAY. Nothing has changed and it wont unless We The People stand up and be The United People we were supposed to be.

Re: “Get Me Some Color 5K: new kind of event

You guys have no clue how much an event on the scale of a Color Me Rad, The Color Run, The Glow Run costs to produce. In fact at 2000 runners they are leaving with their tail between their legs. Now if you were talking 5000 runners then you could start talking but dont suggest they are walking with heaps of money from a 2000 person event, in this case they are likely losing money when you start adding up the true cost to put on a production of their size.
