If you do not like Lamborn, register as a Republican because your best chance to unseat him will be during the primary.

Re: “UPDATE: Colorado Springs reaches settlement in racial profiling case

I am responding to your headline "Colorado Springs reaches settlement in racial profiling case" April 20, 2017:

Racial profiling is not racist. Police departments dont profile people because of the color of their skin. Profiling is simply an acknowledgment of the economic fact that a shameful practice of slavery, reinforced by 200 years of abuse and prejudice, put a significant percentage of our black-skinned fellow citizens in such a collective hole that, for those still climbing out, crime sometimes seems the only way to survive.

If profiling were truly racist, wed be reading stories of far more Hispanics, Asians and American Indians being pulled over for no good reason. Bottom line: cops should not be punished for making reasonable inferences based on the very essence of human intelligence i.e., The ability to cross-reference. Dont punish policemen for the unrelated sins of past slave owners. Theyre simply doing their job. And stop giving away precious tax dollars for PC purposes.

Re: “AFA chief wants UCCS chancellor job

Picking MDJ would be interesting seeing as she has no doctorate, no US civilian university experience (especially at the graduate/research level to which UCCS aspires), and a command/leadership style based upon the formality of military rank alone. Sounds like the antithesis of her predecessor, but then maybe that's what they want?

Re: “Reader: Lamborn should have a town hall for childish liberals, then another for the adults

Helen,
Believe it or not, we didn't start out this way, frustrated and angry. We were brought here. All we have wanted is to be heard. Not even for Mr. Lamborn to agree, just to listen. For months we have tried to be heard. Trips to his office, phone calls, letters, only to be rudely dismissed by his staff. To be told, they don't care about our views, that he doesn't represent us. But the thing is, he DOES represent us. It is like Washington has forgotten we exist. The President goes on Twitter and makes fun of Democrats. We get it, Republicans won, but we are still entitled to a voice. A simple voice. After months of ignoring us, Mr Lamborn finally holds a town hall. I took off work because he choose 1 hour in the middle of a work day. He choose a tiny venue so I didn't even get in. Someone interested in listening to us would have made better choices. He just wanted to be able to say he held a townhall because we have been asking for one for months. If you just want to listen to him, as many have pointed out, you have ample opportunity. Maybe you shouldn't have taken one of the very, very few seats. Because I wanted to be heard. The women I knew that were in that room are some of the most educated and knowledgeable about politics I have ever meet. They live and breathe it. They know every single law that is voted on and how Mr. Lamborn voted. Do you? Because if you are paying attention you might be disturbed too. Every vote only serves to put money in the pockets of corporations. He is voting to let coal companies dump their waste in our waterways. He was willing to vote to take healthcare away from 24 millon people to give the rich a huge tax cut. We ARE paying attention and we don't like what we see. We are going to stand up for what we believe in. And if they continue to ignore us, jeer at us, demean us, we will get louder and more unruly until we feel heard. It is not what I would choose. I choose civil conversation. But I can't get that. Would you just shut up and go home? When you are literally fighting for your son's life as one woman In the room was? I'm guessing you might start yelling too. Please try to find a little compassion in your heart. We all just want to feel heard. That is reasonable. To represent us, they need to hear our voice. If Mr. Lamborn did his job, and listened to his constituents, we could all just go home and resume our lives. That would be our preference obviously. No one wants to be an activist.

Re: “The tick and the time bomb

Hello, I am 25 years old and I first found out I had herpes 3 years ago. My first outbreak was definitely the worst thing I ever experienced. The bumps and blisters were swollen and red. I had a doctor give me Valtrex but I take the generic. I love the Valtrex because I take 1 gram a day for about a week and its gone. I had a doctor prescribe me Acyclovir but that gave me the worst headaches ever, so I stopped taking it. Since I was first diagnosed I have about 2 outbreaks a year. I have been able to cope with this by having supportive family and friends who look out for me. Even though I wish I never had this disease at all, Im able to deal with it and have a great life. a friend advice me to used herbal medicine and send me web site and email of Dr Aidenojie who was able to help me put an end to the herpes virus. Today i am so much happy and totally free should in case you need urgent help email aidenojiecurehome@gmail.com or visit his web: http://draidenojiecurehome.webs.com
