Re: “Indus Modern Kitchen wisely pulls a page from Panda Express

Ate here this evening. As an Indian loving Englishman who grew up on curry and still eats it at least once a week, I'll accept that I'm rather a curry snob. Indus hit all the right notes. Very tasty, very affordable, very friendly staff and service. I would disagree with the review above only in so much as the Chicken Tikka Masala does have a really nice heat 'zing', but as everything's made home-made, perhaps we just caught it on a really good day! Definitely recommend checking this place out - it's these sort of eateries that COS needs more of. We'll be back for sure.

Re: “Indus Modern Kitchen wisely pulls a page from Panda Express

I have eaten here twice and it was amazing both times!!! My friends and I have actually had tingling lips from the spices (in the best way) in the spicy dishes so I'm not sure what the authorthor was referring to. Side note: grab a mango lassi for a breakfast drink to wake up to. Your welcome friends ;)

Re: “Prime 25 opens in Ivywild; Red Leg announces new brew

I was thinking the same thing about the wage. We are members of the ymca and as soon as the election was over they said they had to raise the rates because of the increase in wages. What a bunch of BS. It's barely going up this next year. When I have checked their jobs online, this last year, I saw they are already paying most people around $9 an hour, so its not gonna hurt them. Cost of living has gone up a lot in the last 10 to 15 years, so should wages but companies just want to keep all the extra themselves.

Re: “Prime 25 opens in Ivywild; Red Leg announces new brew

The minimum wage for cooks and back of the house restaurant staff will be $9.30 this year. I loved Marigold, but if they can't find the means or the heart to pay their staff this much, then good riddance.

I wonder if C. Springs can support Prime 25, The Famous, Cowboy Star and McKenzie's, all of which feature entrees in the $30+ range. I would look for at least one of these to close this year, especially with C. Springs per capita income lower than it was in 2005.

Re: “The Famous, KaPow Comics & Coffee, House of Yakitori 2

The Famous has one of the best filet mignons I have ever had. Quality meat and they know how to cook it. Can't beat it and the price is fair.

Re: “Tlaquepaque: Heaven by Jalisco

Antonio is THE nicest man and the food is AMAZING. We eat there once or twice a week. Super fresh produce and finally someplace that seasons meat with sauces to die for. FINALLY a Mexican restaurant worth driving to!

Who goes to a steakhouse to review a drink and dessert? Thanks for nothing.

Re: “Bean Pedaler, Old Chicago, Bubba's 33

Why are you reviewing chains? Old Chicago in a new location? The ridiculously busy Bubba's? Really... They all have enough business. Everyone already know about all the chains in town. I want to learn about local places. Please review local places and not chains that have moved or that everyone already knows about. I would expect those reviews from the gazette not the independent...

Re: “Tlaquepaque: Heaven by Jalisco

Best sit down Mexican food in the city. I reiterate sit down, because there are still a couple trucks that smash them all.

Re: “Southern food truck falls short of 'great'-ness

There was a typo in my previous comment. This is corrected.

I have to say I highly disagree with this. I love the food. The people are amazing. The weather in which you state was not a blizzard was actually quite bad here in falcon. Also I love that the truck is very affordable allowing my large family to eat there.

Re: “Springs Orleans, On the Boulevard, Garden of the Gods Gourmet

I have worked with Bob and Nancy for almost two years now and they are wonderfull employers. They treat thier employee's with respect and dignity. I have also basically eaten everything on the menu. I can personally vouch for the hash. I order it with over easy eggs. It is divine how the egg yoke compliments the rich flavor of her corned beef and sweetness of her soda bread. It's extremely hard not to spend all the money I make on the food alone. I can't wait to see how thier business plans unfold for this lovely place called On the Boulevard.

Re: “George's Gyros & Burgers, La Sinaloense, La Flor de Jalisco

Thanks for the tip about those Boca burgers. I'll have to check one out when next I stop by. And thanks for your readership!

Re: “George's Gyros & Burgers, La Sinaloense, La Flor de Jalisco

The best thing about George's, for me, is that they have a good Boca Burger. Larger patty than the Bocas you get at the grocery. And to be able to get a Boca brand burger from a drive-thru... Yahweh, she smiles.
