Hell, I want a special rate when it comes to my water bill.
Conservatives failed to offer a viable alternative to the Democratic candidate in the last two national elections. Instead of carping about the current president, who is term limited, they might turn their energies to finding a candidate for 2014 that does more than spout negative bile.
As long as the average person can say pretty much what they want in online forums without fear of repercussion, we still have a government for the people. If we want to assure a government by the people, then we have to get out there and work for it. We get the government we deserve. Unfortunately, that includes the current mayor. Time to start looking for leaders to replace him come election time.
Attn. Liberals...not all conservatives voted for Bach. I was right with the Oldcrank shouting from the rooftop that old B. was going to be catering to the developers. Read mo money in the pockets of those they love.
I voted for Skorman, as a Republican, and many of us did.
But now here is something I want to point out to you. Many of you Libs are nothing more than the hypocrits you keep calling out the repubs for. Do you think your beloved BO is behaving any differently from old B? Both are damaging our country & city.
We all need to take a step back and make better choices for the better of all citizens.
Too many voters are voting party lines, voting for empty promises of blessing of insurance, or abortion, or citizenry, but we are all getting screwed by these elected officials who cater to corporations, unions, special interest. We need a government for the PEOPLE, and we have lost it.
Unfortunate to see Bach continue the trend of divisiveness and disrespect in government. He could have said that he will work with the Council to reach agreement on these issues, yet he chose to spit in their face.
He clearly isn't planning to run for office again, as he couldn't be elected dog catcher - but I'm sure that another old boy network clone will be found.
I'm one of several who warned, loudly, against both the "strong mayor" form of mayor and candidate Bach. Skorman was/is a far better human being and a successful man whose businesses ARE helping to keep the downtown alive and well without resorting to running bars where soldiers piss away what pay they do get. Skorman exemplifies what the Repubs say they idolize, a guy who runs successful businesses in a tough environment without resorting to slopping at the taxpayers trough.
The majority of voters here are just plain fucking idiots.
I'm glad to see our friend has been victorious!
Justice has been served!
I voted for Skorman. Bach actually lost the first election but the HBA and Bach's other puppeteers included a sneaky little caveat requiring that the winner of the election needed to win by a required margin which then prompted another election and we are now stuck with this unethical cranky old man who needs to retire. Great job Colorado Springs conservatives!
Bach is gonna cost CS more money, more money and more money. Now don't you wish you had voted for Richard Skorsman, who was a previous counsel member and vise mayor??? When is this town going to learn not to vote for someone just cause they are a Republican candidate or not to vote for against someone who is a Democrat? The better man should have been elected, then we wouldn't be going thru this crap with Bach!
The sooner this man is no longer Mayor the better. His visions of Colorado Springs do not match the personality of Colorado Springs.
That really was an epic speech. Let's do this and do this right.
Jill Gaybler is a flip flopper. She's really a liberal and proved no friend of Mayor Steve Bach's. She got the job on Council being Susie Bach's friend (who you know had the City Clerk fix the election results). What a joke.
Put "marijuana prohibitionist" next to Hillary Clinton's name and then start laughing at the poll results.
Really? Hall and Oates? Cat Stevens? Is Bryan Adams next? Celine Dion must be on the list soon as well then. By this list, Michael Bolton should be in next year for sure.
As a Utilities rate payer I strongly object to subsidized watering for City Parks. I had to get rid of my lawn because I cannot afford to pay the price it costs to water it. The City needs to find a reasonable solution and not expect money from specific Utilities services to be taken and used for the municipal parks. It is hard to come to grips with this issue but in the end we live in a semi-arid biome and have suffered incredible drought in recent years. Find a way to fund watering parks without robbing Peter to pay Paul.
I LIKE the fact that EPS will provide the county an "outsiders" opinion to balance and perhaps dampen the "insiders" highly optimistic estimates of how many new out-of-state tourists will come to COS because we have built for their enjoyment a stadium/museum complex.
I went to the link and read about the Copper Ridge shopping center/road development. The county commissioners were wise to follow EPS assessment and nix this private/govt deal.
Yes of course!
No new taxes to pay for this boondoggle.
County assessor website indicates 30 S. Prospect is owned by the Gazette
Same website shows two owners for 522 S. Wahsatch Ave (a warehouse)
http://land.elpasoco.com/ScheduleDisplay.a… (TJ&TC, LLC)
The listing for 522 S. Wahsatch (TJ&TC, LLC) says this owner is at 2245 Broadway Ave.
The listing for2245 Broadway Ave shows the owner is Charles Murphy.
Whatever, glad that Ranch Foods is growing expanding.
With what is known to date, would you vote in favor of public funding for C4C?
Quick one question poll. Thank you.
