Politicians shouldn't dictate where citizens live, even if those that contribute to the politicians' campaigns have land in certain infill areas.
none of the problems listed in this article happen at the local Colorado SPrings pickup matches....get out there and play , experience it 1st hand, rather than watch it on the tube!
Thanks Councilman Miller for doing due diligence and exposing the C4C stadium for what it is -- a $200+M squandering of OUR money. But our mayor, Jenkins, and feckless City Leaders are working 24/7 to get what THEY want - a stadium that WE have to go into debt to finance. And THEY will do it because they CAN and WE won't be allowed to vote to stop them.
Other developers are not raiding the public purse. The Gazette reported Monday that "a Denver real estate company plans to develop one of COS largest apartment complexes - 482 units, NE of Powers and Woodmen Road in a fast-growing part of the city." And a "260-unit apartment complex is under construction SW of Powers and Woodmen." Although neither community is visionary or iconic, nor is either of them within walking distance of City Hall, these developments are being built where people want to live and shop and work and play -- far away from downtown. The mayor and Jenkins dream of copycatting Denver with skyscraper condos downtown is not COS future. And wishing and hoping and stealing OUR sales tax dollars won't make it so.
If the citizens hadn't blindly followed Doug Bruce and passed his Issue 300 a few years back we wouldn't be having this conversation and there would be less flood water damage in Colorado Springs.
Yes, the cost will be higher due to the procrastinaion of our elected officials and the supporters of Issue 300. So, get over it! It's time to pay the Piper so be prepared to write the check. This will not fix itself through prayer or divine intervention only citizen's hard earned money.
If this ballot issue is not passed, you will not have a town to worry about. The lack of storm water infrastructure will be Bach's legacy if he doesn't get on board.
"However, CSF likely will roll out details of its goals and membership within the next week or two and could play a major role in the campaign, whether it backs or opposes the measure."
Of what value is yet another 'power group' that will not take a stand on anything?
why do they think we want this money wasting eyesore ,how about putting money toward bringing jobs to our city
"....a newly created non-profit group is launching an effort to "bring the community together to help address the problems and the opportunities that lie ahead."
How very naive. The "community" doesn't give a shit if the city crumbles.
Nothing will change or improve until all TABORs are done away with.
you have to admit it took a lot of ball to apologize for not being good at apologizing.
You know they say 'a sound mind in a sound body.' I like these alternatives! I think Memorial Skate Park and Fit Body can help students stay active, positive and motivated to gain new knowledge every day. When you are at college you have to do lots of college assignments and sometimes it's really hard, for example, to write a dissertation. As a rule a dissertation reports the results of a huge, important, life-altering study. http://dissertationwritinglab.com/ is the service that was designed to help students at all phases of thesis writing process. You can learn how to make a paper well-researched, well-structured and well-written for you to get a desired degree.
...but Lance and Indurain did more to popularize the Tour than any, ever. Lance was the best that ever rode. The sponsors, the Tour, the fans and the media got everything they ever wanted during Lance's record seven Tour wins. The purists were finally able to nail him - it took so long because he was out on the foreskin of sports chemistry technology and they couldn't catch him.
It impresses me that we have so many businessmen who fit so well into those spandex suits.
Developers are the reason this city is in the shape it is. Give me a non-profit headed by young entrepreneurs and then you'd have something.
Go tenth circuit go. Introducing the mason tvert of oklahoma. Connecticut anounced dispensary openings.

The right thing 2 do Lance, would be not 2 use numbers 2 express words for starters. Don't be a 4skin.

The concept of a new organization that can help the community develop a means of at least having some guns and some butter before it reaches a point of having neither guns nor butter is noble.
Lance talking about "ethics" is funny. It's not the doping that bothers me about Lance, it's apart of the sport and will always be there, but he's shown he's just not a good person ever since he was a kid. I know guys who used to go to races and let him crash on hotel room floors. He's a dick through and through.
But it's so much easier to write a one-sided piece. No pesky rebuttals or new information to worry about!
Like many others, I used to be a big Armstrong fan... and like many others not so much anymore for all the reasons Ramsey wrote about. But the column may have been a little more substantive with a quote or two from Armstrong. Trying & not getting a response is one thing, but not to try at all is just lazy, IMO.
The GAGzette: "lie, cheat and steal." (and carry a big gun to compensate for the emasculation and cowardice)
The University Village shopping center would have been an excellent place to plan more "walkability" access. With its access to the growing UCCS and to an underused waterway it could have been part of a new neighborhood instead of yet another big box complex. It's not too late for the developers to rethink their plans. But then this is Colorado Springs and progressive thinking is not usually part of our plans.
