Re: “City sued over slamdown

And commenting or posting using my real name can be disastrous. Of that I am quite aware.

Re: “City sued over slamdown

happyfew, and this is in no way an isolated incident. It is happening everywhere. What are they being trained for is what I would like to know. The cop should have the cuffs on him and be discharged then formally charged. Why are they thinking the are above the law?? If you have someone in custody and cannot handle them then call for back up. If you have a short temper then resign. This is another man that should not have badge or a firearm.

Re: “City sued over slamdown

It only took the cop about 15 seconds to realize he screwed up bad. you can see it in his face. it appears he sees the video camera about the same time.

still no adult response and apology from the chief... says a lot about the cops around here.

cameras are everywhere cops... be on your best behavior... don't pull a walker.

Re: “Pikes Peak-area farmers markets for summer 2015

What happened to all the old standard farmers markets at Memorial Park and Powers? Half my friends have to go to the store to buy veggies because they can't find a market. They need to advertise or something.

Re: “City sued over slamdown

police need to be policed and warned that use of force will be scrutinized by their employers-the public and the courts-and that termination as well as municipal and personal fines could ensue, better judgement over retaliation.

Re: “Confederate-flag burning scheduled for Fourth of July

"Car full of jeering black men force black Confederate supporter off road to his death after flag rally." After a flag rally organized by the Ku Klux Klan, who had the audacity to repeat the same lies about how the flag is about "tradition" and not a symbol of race hatred. The KKK was organized in the aftermath of the Civil War and is known to have engaged in acts of racist violence, but PacksA9 insists we cannot pull the Klan's favorite flag from public grounds until the Black community puts an end to all random crimes committed by sick, disorganized individuals in their midst.

In fact, the FBI had to be instructed by the president to investigate the criminal activities of the Ku Klux Klan. At the time, they were already investigating the entirely legal activities of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, jr., on their own initiative, and--not finding any evidence of wrong-doing--began a campaign of feeding lies and innuendo to sympathetic journalists in order to smear Dr. King in the media.

Re: “Officer got high rating after takedown of teen

Some here are indicating a police officer is allowed to do violence to someone in custody because they "deserved" it must be unaware of the Rule of Law. An inebriated person in police custody is a danger and it is not unusual either. Why has it been a practice to take belts, shoelaces etc from a prisoner? They are a danger to themselves as well. Police exhibit bad behavior more and more or is it the proliferation of video cameras that makes it seem so? An officer acting as judge, jury and executioner with knowledge that they are probably being recorded sends a frightening message.
The diminishing of Rights, para-military police forces, the agitating factions re-igniting racial tensions (which obviously has been simmering for over 100 years) especially those that are comparing Southerners to Nazis and all the laws being passed in Washington DC is proof that we are not progressing in any way as human beings. My words here will not sway anyone nor will laws stop crime or hate. When an officer handcuffs you "for your safety" while your fellow citizens want to see you get what you "deserve" is proof enough that we are barbarians. The Bill of Rights were all we had protecting us but too many have allowed "common sense" to erode those Rights. Nobody is immune to inhumane treatment and defending yourself will result, in all probability, inhumane punishment.

Re: “Officer got high rating after takedown of teen

he pushed her in the stomach into the chair.
She raises her legs to kick but I don't think she made contact (as you don't seem him jump or react) He should have backed off right there
he pulls her up out of the chair
grabs her by the back of the neck
slings her around his body picking up force
slams her head to the floor
all while she is handcuffed (?)

Is that what you call a fair fight? Coward woman beater is all he is. Fire him and take away any retirement plans........

Re: “City to buy land for new police substation

Wouldn't it make more sense to simply build one farther east (where sprawl is occurring) and simply use those resources to take over the patrol of the eastern half of this district?

Re: “Officer got high rating after takedown of teen

Girl was:
1. Handcuffed
2. A friggin small woman!
3. Kicked at him like, well, a girl.
4. Unable to pose any type of real threat.

Pig cop:
1. Supposed to be a professional able to reasonably handle threats.
2. A fairly large MAN (strike that, MALE. No MAN would do what he did. F-ing coward bully wimp).
3. Could have EASILY taken her to the floor and hog tied her if he wanted.
4. Should have used escalation of force. There was ZERO reason to react this way.

This piece of sh!t needs to get fired, be sucessfully sued and go to jail. Seriously. There MIGHT have been a SMALL excuse if they had been on the street and the girl reacted this way. Sure she was probably a smarta**. She's young and dumb like most of us were. But a small, cuffed GIRL that did a sissy girl kick at this pig and he reacts like that!?
This piece of trash excuse for a cop needs to be fired before he kills someone. Coward.

Re: “Officer got high rating after takedown of teen

You are dead wrong about anyone deserving to be thrown into the ground face first when in the custody of law enforcement. A careful review of the video will clearly show the Officer gut punched her to get her to sit down and an involuntary kick landed, not on his groin, but on his clipboard. If any law-abiding man (Walker is evidently above the law) were to throw his daughter or wife to ground in such a manner and it was caught on film, he would rightly be charged with domestic abuse and assault and likely imprisoned. Yet Walker gets an increase in his CSPD ratings and is offered victim counseling from the CSPD. All the worse in this case because, besides the fact the young woman was handcuffed, Officer Walker took an oath to uphold the law and is entrusted by the public that he do so and use restraint when wielding the government's power.

To those who justify Walker's actions by discussing the cost or worth to society of individuals: do you really want Officer Walker or anyone else in government assessing your worth to society and then slamming those they decide aren't contributing enough or costing too much in the ground face first? Think about what you're saying.

Did she break the law? Yes. And she should be prosecuted and punished under the law with justice worthy of the blood of Americans all over the world who have fought tyranny. Walker's loss of control and actions are an insult to all of those Americans who have sacrificed their lives for Liberty and an end to tyranny. It is revolting to see this issue get painted as a conservative/liberal issue. It's an American Issue. Should not happen here. Period.

Staci6- Yes. When the man is a police officer and the woman-child is intoxicated, resisting arrest and assaulting those around her.
