I vote for Red Crags! It is a wonderful scenic place! It is owned by my cousins. We went there and it is so beautiful. I vote for Red Crags to win first place!!
- Non-native: A species that was brought to an area unintentionally or intentionally by humans. Non-native species can be invasive, but not all non-native species are invasive.
- Invasive: A non-native species which spreads and starts wiping out native species.
- Pheasant: This non-native species has only a small impact on native species and is not considered invasive.
- Pig/Boar AKA hogs: This invasive species is extremely damaging and out competes many native species for resources. In some areas they are so bad that people have been paid to hunt them.
- Russian Thistle: Invasive weed which wipes out native species and increases fire danger.
- Cheat Grass: Another invasive species which some wildlife cannot or will not eat, thus putting pressure not only on native plants, but also on native animals.
happy hour BEST DEAL is $1 wells at CLEATS on Delmonico every night 11pm- midnight.... great staff and bar munchies Just moved here from NYS and i have no relationship to the place except a customer...
What a beautiful story.
What happened to all the old standard farmers markets at Memorial Park and Powers? Half my friends have to go to the store to buy veggies because they can't find a market. They need to advertise or something.
There is a farmers market in Fountain. Mondays, I believe.
Did anybody else notice the fact that there are no farmers' markets in the "southeast quadrant"???
I like your name "Local Beer 4 All".
Creating our basic needs on a local level including our Beer is always a good idea.
Now back to the issue of charging a monthly maintenance fee. We are not talking a few extra dollars for this fee. Charging customers close to $30.00 a month, close to $400.00 a year just to stay connected is excessive or so it seems and this "Fee" obviously keeps getting bigger.
To really break this issue down to the nuts and bolts of what is necessary to keep the grid maintained we need to right here in a public forum look at the real costs involved and how much would the true cost add to our kilowatt hour charge on our bill each month.
We can add the cost to our kilowatt hours to keep the cost fair for everyone.
Those who want to conserve will save money and those who use more power will pay for their usage.
So "Beer 4 All" how much is the true maintenance cost and how much would this add to our kilowatt hour cost?
Its just simple math - lets talk about this.
Do some research on the subject and get back to us.

Many in the Energy Industry are coming out against home-based renewables and net metering, because they claim that we use the grid as our battery for free. The Grid-access fee is how we pay our portion of the grid maintenance, whether we personally have net metering or not. I have no problem with the fee, and would rather have my bill broken out this way, as it promotes renewable sustainability. Do some research on the subject and get back to us.
Mountain View Electric is a great co-op, and a great model for how electric utilities should run in the interest of a community rather than for shareholders (or overly expensive monopolies like Colorado Springs Utilities).
As a homeowner in Peyton, cutting their overpriced cord is one of the first things I plan to do. Especially with the new wind farm going up that, newsflash, cuts right through the town and provides 0 benefit to the town's electric customers in the process.
Mad Max: Fury Road, was nothing but another brainwashing exercise, dressed in the usual attention deficit disorder genre of today's movie media.
Do not be told what to think. Think and act according to your own experiences/values.
Just went to the Monday Mining Museum, one stand does not make a market :(
Karl Ray brings up a really good point. There have been quite a few roach coaches rolling around here for years before it became hip.
What was the criteria here to be included?
How about La Flor de Jalisco, usually found in the parking lot in front of Rampart Plumbing and Heating Supply? Great tacos and ceviche. Everyone grabs lunch there. Or is that not hoidy toidy enough for the Indy?
This is not a bad article, but the comments regarding how to balance the nutrients in a garden are too simplistic. Every remediation starts with a GOOD soil test, ideally conducted by a commercial lab. I'm not a big fan of land grant university soil testing labs. They don't charge much, but then they don't tell you much either.
Test the soil, amend the needed minerals according to the analysis, spread either an organic soil amendment like worm castings or an organic fertilizer like Mighty Grow, on TOP of the ground and then cover with wheat straw. This will preserve moisture, lower the soil temp during the heat of summer AND provide the perfect environment to grow your own earthworms.
And the wheat straw naturally suppresses weeds, all the while breaking down into rich top soil. Gardening does not have to be hard. We as gardeners just make it that way.
well, they were less crowded, lol would it be wrong to also tell them that these are horrible trails, they're even more crowded, washed out, or something like that? Just cause, you know....

Voltages per cell by battery chemistry:
NiCad/NiMH = 1.2 V
Zinc-Carbon = 1.5 V
Alkaline = 1.5 - 1.65 V
Lead Acid/SLA/Gel/AGM = 2.2 - 2.3 V
LIon = 3.6 V
LiFePO4 = 3.3 V
Since most solar charging systems and most inverter systems (converts DC battery power into AC power used by most homes) are built around lead acid batteries, specifically around intervals of six lead acid cells, switching to LiFePO4 or other lithium ion batteries means you really should be using different chargers and inverters.
Oh look, Ray Boggs can quote from Wikipedia. LiFePO4 still suffers from the issues mentioned by Odin.
