Great movie, all the Tarantino usual violence but a plot + comedy.Well worth a watch.
This Movie is the best of 2013!! Absolutely hysterical!
If it wasn't for these two-sponsorship in racing wouldn't be what it is today. They changed the world I love so much! Thank you Don and Mr. McEwan!
I just saw this documentary and I resoundingly disagree with the writer's synopsis. The writer's bias is obvious and sadly, he missed the entire point.
His final sentence is critical and telling when he writes, "the religious right is grooming a young generation of virgins to embody an evangelically grounded "Utopia in America." That was NOT the point of the documentary!
Christians, Evangelicals know, beyond a doubt that Utopia could NEVER exist here on earth first of all, because we live in a world where sin exists. And, second, the Wilson family's emphasis is on a loving relationship with God for themselves then, protecting, teaching and mentoring their children on the importance of living a life that is pleasing to God.
To spread the love of God to a world that is exploding with hatred and violence is a very good thing but not, it seems, to the writer of this synopsis.
This movie is from DHX, made by the FiM team. If there's anybody on the face of the planet earth who could made this good, it is them. They've spent the past 65 episodes proving that cartoons intended for girls don't have to suck, so their track record is unimpeachable. However, there is the chance their style could not translate well to the new demographic, but I trust Jayson Thiessen's team to do well here.
Remember the old tv show? Well, this movie finally pays tribute to some of the timeless cliques of the tv show, and does them well. Thoroughly enjoyed my time spent with this movie and loved how it ended with a future and a positive spin. Word of warning, if you have any vertigo problems, hold on tight during the Dubai building scenes. lol
What a fantastic movie! Great story and great cast.
Fantastic, whimsical, dreamlike
Witty, fresh, and well acted---While the story is somewhat predictable, the actors bring real emotion and understanding to their respective roles. I enjoyed the entire story as did my husband. I'd recommend this movie to any age group. We are not teens, but I teach teenagers and found this remarkably believable.
John Cena is getting better at acting. A good dvd to watch for lunch.
This film is not what I expected. I expected to find a left-leaning film critical of Christianity and I found a basically even-handed look into how Americans deal with religion and politics. It is a compassionate look at our strengths and weaknesses.
I must not get it. I thought the movie was ticking along quite nicely until Spock (old Spock) appeared and started messing with the time-space continuum. I was lost for about 15 minutes until he disappeared, and then lost when he reappeared. I think it would have been a really good movie if the director didn't feel the need to please the fans from the past. It could have stood on its own, but sadly, missed the mark in my opinion.
This is the first time in my life that I want to warn people not to go see a movie. This movie sucked. It is a story of a story of a story. There is nothing here. It tries really hard to be of some meaning but has none. It is an insult to series like A Long Way Around and A river Runs Through it to even be mentioned. I wanted to yell at the screen a few times because it was so forced. Here is a thought, tell us where you are, where you are going. Talk about things that happen on the trip and do not force scripted stories. I want my time back, complete waste
Marriage reflects the natural moral and social law evidenced the world over. As the late British social anthropologist Joseph Daniel Unwin noted in his study of world civilizations, any society that devalued the nuclear family soon lost what he called "expansive energy," which might best be summarized as society's will to make things better for the next generation. In fact, no society that has loosened sexual morality outside of man-woman marriage has survived.
Analyzing studies of cultures spanning several thousands of years on several continents, Harvard sociologist Pitirim Sorokin found that virtually all political revolutions that brought about societal collapse were preceded by a sexual revolution in which marriage and family were devalued by the culture’s acceptance of homosexuality.
When marriage loses its unique status, women and children most frequently are the direct victims. Giving same-sex relationships or out-of-wedlock heterosexual couples the same special status and benefits as the marital bond would not be the expansion of a right but the destruction of a principle. . If the one-man/one-woman definition of marriage is broken, there is no logical stopping point for continuing the assault on marriage.
The issue is these clubs are illegally "selling" recreational cannbis. The city of Colorado Springs prohibits the sell of recreational cannabis. They are having people "donate" $25 to them and in return getting weed. Or having people "buy points" 1 point = $1 and they can then use their points to buy cannabis. Hence why they are an issue... People "donating" for cannbis don't need a medical card like the city requires to buy within the city limits.
From my understanding, Suzanne, you have a right to live in peace in your own home. On the other hand, the grower has rights, also. Find some common ground.
Can't run a government without funds, and, if I remember correctly, Mr Miller, you're the one who called for a level playing field. Special districts are far from fair and equal as far as beneficiaries are concerned, and JH make a good point for equanimity within the city limits.
I'm not into raising taxes, per se - but I'm not a Grover Norquist "let's shrink the Federal Government to a size where we can drown it in the bathtub" fan either...and that looks and sounds like what Jailbird Bruce had in mind when he penned TABOR and ran that con into the Colorado Constitution.
My suggestion? Raise the city sales tax. Sales tax is indeed the only fair tax because it is a use tax - you buy a clunker, you pay tax on a clunker. You buy a Lamborghini you pay tax on a Lamborghini. Sounds fair enough to me. For that matter, let's do that nationwide and put the Federal deficit to rest. Oh, and all you rich "patriots" - no more hiding your dollars offshore!
When there's no accountability there's a big hole in the system - this hole is HUGE! Who polices the police?
That Trump is still in the race after all that he has said, and after stonewalling on releasing his tax returns, I'm forced to question the "reasoning" that led the Repubs into this morass. Colorado Springs didn't produce anything newsworthy in the polls other than to show their unmitigated hatred of anything populist.
