I'm a veghead now, for so many reasons. But when I was eating animals, Smashburger was one of the best burgers I ever had, not even on the list here.

How are we supposed to trust your choices when the best fast but local burger you can find is, by your own admission, inedible?

Drifters is too far north for the Indy staff. I see the readers pick is the only thing that pulled them, reluctantly, north of Uintah...
Of course, they were willing to go 50 miles south.

If you really want the best wings take a drive up to O'Malley's in Palmer Lake. Only one flavor but it is an authentic Buffalo wing sauce (I went to college there). Great prices too - $6.99 for 10 wings.

/agree with previous poster, Back East's wings are the best I've had in the city. All-American and Old Chicagos have good wings, but not quite as good as Mike's at Back East.

Next time you should try Back East Bar & Grill for the wings. Pretty sure thier wings are covered in a homemade sauce by the owner who is from Buffalo. They are cheaper and better than any of the places that are listed. 6 wings cost me about $4. 12 wings around $8. I'm thinking there are alot of other people who will agree!!!

The fact that you included Village Inn in you review shows just how serious you were taking this. Why not throw in some frozen pie as well, and see which one re-heats the best in your oven. Pie connoisseurs can be a "crusty" bunch, and I wouldn't be surprised if you got hate-mail after this review. The problem with a pie review is that everyone loves best the type of pie and crust their grandmother made, so it makes me wonder what horror you were served as a child. I cannot talk down any pies listed, because I'm sure they are all good (with the exception of Village Inn), but your comments on Smiley's pie seem a bit harsh. From the picture, it looks like the apple cinnamon pie which is cooked down significantly more than their granny smith apple pie and is a style of pie that is meant to be that way. Perhaps if you tried the granny smith pie you would have been able to make a better comparison to the others. I've had Smiley's pies since they've opened as well as pie from all over this city, and am still coming back to Smiley's for more! The crust is good! You can eat it, rather than crumbling it up, mixing it with water, and using it to hang wallpaper. Which is all Village Inn's crust is good for. P.S. I noticed someone wrote you a letter to the editor about your review of Dutch Kitchen's pie last June. And I second it...please Bryce, stop the pie hate crimes!
