On the contrary to Dr. Rose's sentiment, UCCS not only can but should refuse the UCCS College Republicans' request to invite Yiannopoulos to the campus. His actions on Twitter led to rape and death threats for several people, including Randi Lee Harper, Leslie Jones, and Jessica Valenti and her 5-year-old daughter. Turning Point USA runs a "professor watchlist" website that constitutes a threat to the safety of liberal and progressive instructors.
Yiannopoulos has a First Amendment right to express himself, but that right cannot come at the expense of the UCCS community's safety.
Well Ill give ya that one Robert and agree.
Tannim- When you are stopped by police ask them! I know if a person is cash poor and their license plates expire they then are charged another $100 when they finally register it. A fine for poverty. No moey? Then pay more. Billionaire? Forget it, (wink wink). For a police spokesperson to say they do not know if a vehicle is illegal must not have been on the force when Harley owners were being stopped so police could inspect exhaust pipes for the fine print stamped into the underside of the pipe for the EPA legal seal of approval. What department was it that switched their Harley's pipes back to factory from aftermarket pipes and who paid for it?
So drive without those permission papers and then go to jail and wait in there for trial to find out if you are going to go to jail. This is the same society that makes "community service" a punishment instead of a good deed. The same town that makes you sit in your car to warm it up before heading out on a cold morning- totally misunderstanding the entire concept of "warming up". They say it can be stolen if you do not sit in it. Well yes it can and that is called 'carjacking' and it is the police departments job to stop crime. Whoops sorry, I forgot, their job to investigate crime. . . I have seen police cars sitting empty and engine running so why can we not do the same? Same reason some believe police and police only should have firearms to protect themselves... If your neighbor was drunk and fired a few rounds off into the ground and you then came out and shot him fatally in the back all the while he never even knew you were on the other side of the wooden fence hiding would you be charged with anything? Would an officer if he did the same thing?
Permission slips to drive on roads you paid for but the roads never have any maintenance because the money you paid, it's... it's ... well it was somewhere in the budget but it disappeared, several millions gone, gone where? I dunno, oh well, let's vote and raise taxes because everyone wants to give up hard earned pay right? Doug Bruce is in jail so he cannot stop that measure from passing. BUT, If you do not pay tax then you need no permission to drive on roads that tax dollars are never spent on. (The burns in your car seat? Dropped your joint you were smoking creating Pot Holes... I digress I guess)
The Broadmoor contributes millions to the coughers I mean coffers and the rest is chump change from the lower-downs who golf on the no-smoking links but their car does a pot-hole-in-one everyday. Let's trade everything to The Broadmoor! I get dibs on a suite and one of them trucks that haul ass!
Bravo, Pam. As we all know, the Broadmoor is a power unto itself!
Something to ponder:
As the article states, the Broadmoor made an attempt on Cheyenne Mountain Blvd but backed off under intense public pressure. We also know that the Broadmoor backed off an attempt to put riding stables on the east side of 21st Street across from Bear Creek Park .... also under intense public pressure. We've been told that the public reaction to the Broadmoor Land Swap was more vigorous and pronounced than, "anything in recent memory". And yet the Broadmoor has not backed off.
Why? Can anyone offer simple input as to .... "Therein lies the difference"?

So he's going to be come a political consult on what, how to fail at campaigning and winning a winnable campaign while being Ed Jones 2.0?
Nobody ever accused CDOT of competence.
Yet you don't see the HD17 rep doing legislation to decommission Business Route 24 and return it to the cities and county, either.
Get that done first, then the cities can continue to fix it right.
Lost in the entire article is question that was never asked in the first place, which is why we need government permission slips and fees to use OUR property on OUR roads...
> In the meantime, the nonprofit Incline Friends has raised $40,000 to hire a consultant to develop an application to request a National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) study for "the northern trail,"
Don't we need the Strawberry Fields deal to go through before that happens?
PLEASE GO TO LINK & TELL GOV BROWN TO MEET WITH SEX WORKERS TO DISCUSS DECRIMINALIZATION! YES ITS TRUE PIMPS & BAD PEOPLE CAN NOT COMPETE WITH INDEPENDENT ADULT SEX WORKERS! WHEN ITS DECRIMINALIZED!
.... The great hypocrisy of this group is simply ...they claim having TWO LANES all the way through Manitou will IMPROVE traffic flow? ..... ??? ....??? .... If so "Dear Sally" why not have Colorado Avenue TWO LANES all the way to Nevada Avenue, Why stop ??? .....
What law they choose to be derelict in there duties ! Along with there administration of Dems . , easier then doing their jobs !
Why is 1.9 million less criminals living here illegally a problem?
A press due to the presence of The Indy. Hopefully the town will grow to the point where it can support a real daily paper.
On this Thanksgiving Day ... I am grateful for a free press .... for spectacular land ..... and for the freedom to fight for that land.
its sad the the democratic party used to be about workers and protecting people, now its all just hand outs and endless fees and taxes. if they never get another office i won't be too worried.
Some odd comments on here. First, a Bond isn't exclusively (or even often times, anything to do with) building NEW schools. It's more commonly to support the upkeep of existing, in some cases quite antiquated buildings. Surely we don't want our children being educated for the 21st century in buildings barely fit for the 20th century?
I don't remember the district anywhere down-playing the cost, or suggesting that it the proposed additional taxes weren't 'a big deal'. They simply tallied up their needs, focused on those that were a most pressing priority, costed them accordingly, and presented that to the taxpayers.
What about the benefit to tax payers when they see an increase in their property VALUES? When you live in an area where the schools are modern, high-tech, and in high demand, local home owners benefit? What's the value of that?
