Okay, so 127 confirmed cases by the IOC, which is international. There will be over 500 US athletes competing in Rio and approximately 10,000 athletes from all over the world and these are just the athletes that qualified. A whopping 1% - the horror! But that 1% makes the news, not the athletes who train diligently to be the best, not the athletes who give back to their communities, not the athletes who start exciting new careers and chapters in their lives when their Olympic careers are over. A total of 26 NFL athletes were busted for using performance enhancing drugs in 2015. So are all NFL athletes scumbags for doping? You're generalizing and yes, you are completely narrow minded. So the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is full of artists and majority of those artists abused drugs and led vagabond lifestyles. Shut that museum down! What the heck was Cleveland thinking when they proposed building this museum? Why would anyone want to visit a museum that showcases a large number people of unscrupulous reputations!?!
Well done Nat Stein. Thank you for your coverage. Hope to see it in print too.
Ben has uch a beautiful soul...
I would prefer our city to be about health and fitness and such rather than killing and military.
Jantzen, did Griffen know that You were commisioned to design the blues under the bridge cover last year? That example would of visually rounded out your skill set with a graphic, commercial type piece. Either way, congrats, keep it up!
Yo.. Braddah JP..
Great job and your article.. I still have your make shift fly squatter... !!
Anyways.. Keep it going!! When you visit make sure you give me at 1 week notice!! I'm always working!!!
Ben Broadbent, you are an incredible asset to our community and will be missed tremendously, California is lucky! Congratulations!
Am I to understand that Ambassador Stevens, Information Officer Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods were "old coots and codgers"?
Hightower? Is that nasty old bullshit artist really still alive?
Nicely written article, and some wonderful messages! May you and Caity have a long and joyful marriage. As the minister who married Christopher and James at Denver Comic-Con, and as an openly gay man myself, it's nice to see articles like this that are affirming and positive.
I have one small correction: the Unity Wedding at Denver Comic-Con was not an LGBTQ mass wedding, it was an all-inclusive group wedding. Half of the ten couples were heterosexual, while two couples were gay male, two were lesbian, and one was mixed/trans. And while it was a "mass" of people, the ceremony did allow each couple their own vows and promises and pledges, just like any single wedding, thus we're calling it "group." ;)
Alissa, Thank you for sharing your story, and congratulations to you and Caity. Diversity makes a city great, and each of us brings a vital element to the community. So don't you dare ever leave us! 😎

Jackie. Its actually 127 confirmed cases according to the IOC itself. Not sure where you got the 1 or 2 figure from. The U.S. Mens relay team was stripped of the silver medal at 2012 summer games for doping violations, more than 1 or 2 right there in one event. Of course there are also cases such as the 1984 cycling team admitting to being doped, but, not getting caught. Marion Jones? That's just the Olympics, there have been hundreds more in amateur and professional sport as well. Remember when this city couldn't stop talking about its connection to Lance Dopestrong and his time at the Olympic training center? The Olympics have become irrelevant and the doped up cheats that compete in them are the reason for the waning interest in the Olympic games. Does building a museum associated with this sort of corruption really seem like as sensible use of your tax dollars? Typical dumb jock thinking at its purest level.
No big deal. This is all free money. Comes from the taxpayers.
Wow, obliosupercat! You have a huge chip on your shoulder and a big a$$ burr in your blanket. So you are generalizing that all Olympic athletes are doped up cheats and your intel is supported by what? You're quick to judge and condemn a group of young people who are dedicated to their sport. But I'm sure you have heard about one or two athletes who did make some poor decisions and decided to lump all the athletes into that same category just as you probably do with all aspects of your life. Typical narrow mindedness at the purest level.
Building more parking downtown, regardless of who pays for it, is a step backwards - any funding spent on a new garage would be better off invested in making it easier for people to reach downtown without having to get into a car first.
But no sweat, Celeste notes. "We have an agreement; the gift is there. There's been no reason to go ahead with the land transfer until we're ready pull the trigger on the groundbreaking."
Almost sounds like they don't think the Olympic Museum is going to be built...
Shouldn't the cost of a garage for the Olympic Museum be included in the building costs of the Olympic Museum? If not, it must not be needed.
Does anyone even care about the Olympics and the doped up cheats we train here in the springs?
This sounds a lot like the city paying to build Nor'wood a garage for their building, but selling it to voters as being necessary for the Olympic museum.
