I have worked with Bob and Nancy for almost two years now and they are wonderfull employers. They treat thier employee's with respect and dignity. I have also basically eaten everything on the menu. I can personally vouch for the hash. I order it with over easy eggs. It is divine how the egg yoke compliments the rich flavor of her corned beef and sweetness of her soda bread. It's extremely hard not to spend all the money I make on the food alone. I can't wait to see how thier business plans unfold for this lovely place called On the Boulevard.

The best thing about George's, for me, is that they have a good Boca Burger. Larger patty than the Bocas you get at the grocery. And to be able to get a Boca brand burger from a drive-thru... Yahweh, she smiles.
Me and a dear friend of mine went here today because of your review. We were sadly disappointed for the price the amount of food was almost ridiculous butt since we were paying $40 for 1 steak with a quarter cup of refried beans in a cup next to it ordered medium rare and we received it well done when we said something about it cuz there was absolutely no pink in the steak at all we were given $5 off so we paid nearly $35 for an overdone tough piece of meat granted the flavor was awesome but very disappointing.

Fantastic recipe! Tried it in an MEC dutch oven (it's made from pure clay) and it came out excellent. This is what I did differently though: I added the chicken and once the oil and liquids started showing up, added the shallots. Didn't take the chicken out of the pot. This way I didn't have to add chicken stock, just the juices in the pot were enough. These special pure-clay pots did a fantastic job. Although I know food is much healthier and turns out more delicious when cooked in them, didn't think it would be easy to use... but to my surprise it was easier than cooking in metal pots.
We went to the Smokehouse Barbeque on North Academy. The service was lousy. I had ordered a few items, but I was told that they were not available. Then, when I ordered a refill on my drink, I had kept waiting as she never brought it. I felt like I was neglected throughout the entire service. bad customer service to say the least. Then, we asked for to go bags and boxes for our left over food. On our way out, the manager demanded that we stop, so that he can check the bags. He had rummaged through the entire food, until his search was complete. It was almost as if he thought we had stole something, which we had not. Then, we I expressed my dissatisfaction of the service, he had an attitude and demanded an explanation. It was just an overall bad experience.

I love Panino's! What's a total bummer is all three locations prepare the food differently. I live closest to the restaurant on Dale and Tejon and prefer to drive to the one on 8th Street. We did try the one out on Powers and got one of the salads we always get at the 8th Street location - spaghetti salad but with mostaccioli rather than the spaghetti noodles. Completely different salad and not that great either.

Totally understood. That's one of the challenges of us being a weekly paper — when news comes in on a Wed., Thurs., or Fri. and we're waiting to hit racks again on the following Wednesday. I would have to respectfully disagree from this review which seemed to me a bit mean spirited and a bit elitist in the writing. The smoked burger I just had tonight was great and the side of fries were amazing. I had the smokey porter (3 glasses worth). It was dark, smooth not to hard on my taste buds. (I'm not a big fan of hoppy beers). The smokey porter was a more stout version of what a guinness might be. The malt cider, I will agree, is middle of the road but overall, I would say the notion of the beers being "inferior" might be a little hyperbole. I have recommended this establishment to all my friends and I would recommend for all to try and figure it out for yourself. I like the "Pig" and plan on coming back again and again.
Great review! You had me at, "It's very sessionable at 4.1 percent ABV, but who the hell can afford to session $7 pours?" Trinity has had some great beers, but Chilly Water (when in season) for example, is up to a $9 pour! High ABV, granted, but come on man! Trinity's motto is to "Kill the Pint Glass"...but I believe that is only to make more money on a 10 ounce, high dollar pour.
I say, go to Bristol where the $4.50 Pint Glass is alive and well...and very tasty.

I realize you don't recall me but I found you rude even some time ago when I could walk still at some beer outing in Old Colorado. Your saison, to me, was tasty. Still I could not even find the time to offer a smile and a hello since you were so uninspired but certainly not busy.
