Re: “Sweets meet an abundance of burger selections at Bunz

@MatthewSchniper, that'd be 2,872,800 potential choices.

Re: “Pig Latin Food Truck revs up, Lofty's shuts down

King - Now that is a dang good review. Well written and didn't pretend that you were not his buddy. I'm going to try it simply because I liked what you said and how you said it.

Re: “Pig Latin Food Truck revs up, Lofty's shuts down

Andres has a passion for cooking and I have a passion for good food. We spent a lot of time in a kitchen in Iraq together talking about that passion and his plans to get his own thing started.
(by the way, I wasn't in there cooking. I was in there waiting for his food to be done!) He is a master of making appetizing meals with limited materials in confined spaces. Combine that with his Columbian influence and you're left with food that tastes fresh and leaves you feeling satisfied.

I am completely confident that this will be THE BEST food truck in Colorado and will only get better. I vouch for this man and his truck not only as a friend but as a food enthusiast.

Enjoy his food truck while you can. With his personality, it won't be long before he ends up with his own television show.

Re: “It's airy light and love at Manitou Springs' Swirl

I love going to Swirl. The atmosphere is great.

Re: “Q-czar

I keep going back...and I must say nothing in town holds a candle to it. Just by far the most distinctive, tasty, fresh, and well presented Mexican food in the whole region.

Comfortable, clean, well ordered...I am fussy, and I always leave Q's delighted. Prices are easily fair for the portions and quality.

We all need to chip in and keep them in business...this is not your typical serving line Mexican food with hot floured cheese whiz poured over it. Nothing canned, prepared earlier in the week, or assembly lined. Just fresh, delicious, and yummy!

Re: “From fire frontlines to popular pub nights, McCabe's is there for you

Love McCabe's BBQ Bacon Shrimp Appetizer too! Their homemade soups are the best. Come out and support this place. They are the real deal!

Re: “From fire frontlines to popular pub nights, McCabe's is there for you

I want to thank Jason Hann for getting in touch with me to further introduce himself, so he doesn't live on as the "regular guy off the street."
In his words: "Last year during Waldo I started the Volunteer and Support Services Team and that is how I met Bill Layton. I am the Co-Founder of the No Name Community Outreach Group where the majority of the volunteers who helped came from. Just wanted to let you know that the three of us weren't just random."
Noted. And thanks again to Hann and everyone else who pitched in for the community.

Re: “Fillmore fold-in, a market mobile and Colorado craft

Thanks for the tip on Ranch food direct, went today and had an awesome bacon cheeseburger, with home made fries (cooked in beef talo) and a drink all for $6 even. Drive past Carl's, McDs, BK, Arbys, Taco Bell, and all the rest to this place.

Re: “A Green Mountain Falls 'classic' — Blue Moose Tavern — comes up short

I think you missed the part about mouthwash. Or was that just more uninformed bs I smelled?

Re: “A Green Mountain Falls 'classic' — Blue Moose Tavern — comes up short

Is GMF a DUI trap in addition to being a dump?

Re: “A Green Mountain Falls 'classic' — Blue Moose Tavern — comes up short

By some of these comments, it sounds like someone couldn't be happy anywhere. GMF is an awesome place, with some local government issues negatively impacting the local taven's business. It still is by far the best community in El Paso County to live to be able enjoy the natural surroundings with a populace of mostly great and friendly people.
A pit? You must live in one awesome place to make such a comment and since there's Tejon in your name, I am pretty certain that is far from true.
Maybe, and it seems pretty likely by your posts, you're just not a very likeable person. Don't blame GMF because you're not popular. Start with mouthwash, lower your voice some, try to engage in more pleasant conversation, and recognize that your life probably isn't anything to brag about.
Anyone else who isn't a killjoy, come to GMF, bring a designated driver and go 5 under the speed limit and enjoy a great community.

Gosh Randi, "... so that people like you don't come back." doesn't sound very friendly to me. I guess you're just friendly to people you agree with.

Re: “A Green Mountain Falls 'classic' — Blue Moose Tavern — comes up short

Randi...GMF is a pit, sort of a third world experience from the early '60. Anyone who didn't drop out of school in Jr High springs for the extra gas and goes to Vail or Breck.

Re: “A Green Mountain Falls 'classic' — Blue Moose Tavern — comes up short

TejonTech, yeah, you're right, no reason at all to come to GMF (hiking, biking, friendly people, Bronc Days, lake, playground, history etc...) we should just keep GMF lame so that people like you don't come back.

Re: “A Green Mountain Falls 'classic' — Blue Moose Tavern — comes up short

I have lived here over a decade and just recently found out anything was even there...and when I went in to give the place a try, because I was not a known local it was chillesville. Not going back.

Re: “A Green Mountain Falls 'classic' — Blue Moose Tavern — comes up short

The problem with the bar isn't the food or the new look; it is the town itself that just isn't what it used to be. Sure the past owners of the bar had some failings but people kept coming until the local police force seemed to take it upon themselves to pull over everybody that came to town.
Considering that the local government only seems to exist to try to undermine each other and consistently embarrass the townspeople with petty squabbles, nothing is likely to get fixed anytime soon. Then there's the fact the local restaurants in the area have plummeted in quality (The Pantry excluded) and so now there is really no reason to come to Green Mountain Falls anymore, and therefore no reason to go to the once great bar in an otherwise downward spiral of a town. Without the consumers, of course the portions for food at the bar are going to dwindle. The Pine Gables may rise again someday, but only if the town does as well and not only do tourists come back but so do all of the locals who used to use the place as a playground and who've found other things to do for the last 2 or 3 years rather than sit in empty bars, eat bad 'cuisine', and then get a ticket on the way home.

Re: “La Carreta, Yoo Mae, Thai Lily Cuisine and Yakitori 8

The hallmark of Yakatori is an awful looking building in a bad strip mall from the '60's for which someone must have a strong immune system to even pass by, let alone go into the place and darn eat the food...I can't imagine what grows on the floor of a Yakatori's.
