A review of the Colorado Secretary of State's listing for Windhover Creative Partners LLC shows NO change in ownership or members - calling into question Wayne Laugesen's claim that he (and Scott Weiser) "left" the organization.
Perhaps Wayne and Dede could release the tax records for their business?
They certainly have not had any problem asking that of others.

Being a 'political consultant' must be similar to being a defense attorney. Somebody has to do it and if you are good - you make great money. Which is the bottom line of politics.
Lying to people to win campaigns is not an attribute of a great person. Sorry. Schoolyard taunts? Why don't you read some of the libel put out by this "great person" and how she and the people that pay her have no issue destroying lives in order to get a few more votes. Sounds to me like she got caught committing a misdemeanor. Imagine if an opponent of one of her clients had a hint of a traffic infraction what Ms. Jack would manipulate that into!
Mr. Miller, Have to respond. Sarah Jack is indeed a political consultant . . . and a great person that gives her time and energy to making our community better. Sorry you took the next step down for local political discourse by calling names like this is some schoolyard taunt.
Good reporting. I've studied that truncated report and would add that the fact that it took 18 months to release anything is part of the deception. Slow walking the release of information is a strategy all by itself. Dozens of pages totally blank. Blacked out sections throughout. They operate on tax payer money and are obligated to more transparency. Reading closely one realizes there could have been an inferno if the fuel tanks hand been punctured. Currently Fort Carson is in the process of seeking more helicopter landing zones on both United States Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management lands in our nearby mountains. It's only a matter of time before their antics set off a really big forest fire. Meanwhile their daily intrusions into that airspace continue to impact the serenity of our mountain landscapes.
Nowhere on the original e-mail was there any mention of "For Official Use Only." There were no disclaimers of any kind and it was sent out to EVERYONE at USAFA with an e-mail account on the date shown above. It was on some Facebook accounts within hours--including parent pages. And, yes, I agree that most of the Air Force is actually "f[u]rther along in this whole acceptance thing" than some want to acknowledge, and that's a good thing. I also think that you're missing the MRFF's point here. No one on the MRFF staff is calling for a headline that says "Lesbian Hired!" They're just asking the legitimate question: "Why, if the selection's already official and broadly announced to USAFA personnel, hasn't there been a public announcement or press release stating the relevant facts (and her private life is not a relevant fact here)?" The strange lack of timing just raises eyebrows and begs the question, "Are they trying to hide or downplay something here?" It just seems weird that DAYS go by without a press release when it was almost instantaneous in the past for other senior leader position changes at USAFA (Supt, Dean, AD, etc). And yes, Good on you, USAFA and Big Blue, for the selection.
As someone who knew older brother from outside view, he should have been allowed to stay. I care about standards, but Kwateng and his younger brother should both still be here. AFA is not a joke and I have seen enough criticisms from people who are clueless just because of criticisms they hear from those who are here. We are changing this place for the better, but baseless criticisms like that slow us down. Yes, some things likely happened that were wrong and they were wrongfully dismissed, but don't exaggerate how bad the whole institution is!
Not much love lost between Gaebler and me, but if anyone deserves a little reckoning in this world before their reckoning that's sure to come in the next--it's Sarah Jack. Prosecution would be one way to give these political consultant class dirtbags at least some fear of conviction for their misdeeds.
I don't think people in District 6, let alone, any district appreciate the meddling of our city council election. This isn't Washington, it's OUR city! We can't just let Andy Pico and other city council members get bought and effect how our city is run! As if taking developer money and sticking the burden of the neglected action of the storm water runoff issue wasn't enough. He continues to prove that he doesn't have the best interest of citizens of district 6, or the town as a whole, in mind.
I really feel like Melanie Bernhardt would be our best candidate. She's someone who can more than relate to the disposition of the average Colorado Springs citizen, because she's fed up as we are. I believe we need someone with not just the know how, but also the right stoic attitude of cutting through the BS and getting things done. Definitely check out her website melaniebernhardt.com and see for yourself
What about a city ordinance prohibiting negative campaigning?
Is council on track to post the 12 new ordinances for the month? For this year: One on goats. One on a 'food policy commission' - One on selling lemonade in the front yard. One to create a commission on aging. Who knows how many on marijuana but enough to fill a small hard-drive.
Leaving the district 5 seat open for the next two years should be a considered option.
In regard to why this news isnt being shouted from the rooftops, perhaps its because a person is appointed to such a position based upon the merit of their abilities and accomplishments (as the link in this article shows), and not because of their sexual orientation and family composition. Hats off to Weinstein for reducing a person and her family to a label and a talking point (not to mention his shameless attempt to somehow take partial credit by linking this decision to a protest from four years ago). Perhaps its also because its more of a business-as-usual happening than people have been led to believe, especially given the MRFFs regular hysterics. Whats more, one simply has to look at the chapels Facebook page to glimpse some examples of the religious diversity/freedom supported there but we dont hear about such things from Weinstein because it goes contrary to and lies beyond the purview of his narrow, biased agenda. All in all, dudes got issues.
Setting all of that aside - good on you, USAFA!
Let's see, how did the Indy get to be the first to publish this story? If I am not mistaken, that email is for "official business" and for "intended addressees" on .mil or .edu accounts. So, when exactly did the Indy get approval to release a non-public email and beat the Air Force to it's own official release?
Second, the comments by Weinstein are rich. He has made it his mission to wipe out "agendas" at military academies and then immediately attacks the Air Force for not promoting an agenda! In his glee to fly the Rainbow Flag he seems to drop his demand for equality pretty quickly when it's something he agrees with.
Lastly, equality is what this is all about. The Air Force doesn't and shouldn't treat anyone differently. The Air Force doesn't pass out party hats when a new Commandant is announced. Having been at the Academy with BGEN (Sel) Goodwin and having worked with her in the Air Force, she wants to be just another Commandant; not some specially treated person that Weinstein demands she be. She brings a solid resume' and warrior ethos that will serve the Academy well. So the fact that the Air Force isn't making a big deal about this shows that perhaps the Air Force is farther along in this whole acceptance thing than Weinstein or even the Indy would want to admit.
Yiannopoulos Loses big at Glasgow University Rector!
Hopefully, she won't be subjected to any mandatory conversion therapy by the local fighter mafia--and we've progressed beyond that narrow view and can accept some diversity in our Air Force. We'll see.
I, for one, am absolutely outraged at this complete and total affront to all that is holy at USAFA. I mean, really... a BOMBER pilot? The place is just going to hell in a flight bag.
Wow, good job Air Force. Can't go wrong with an AFGSC warrior. That's the correct worldview and will likely cut out some of the buffoonery at AFA.
Congratulations to Brigadier General (S) Kristin Goodwin on her well-earned selection as the next USAFA Commandant & kudos to the USAF for upholding American human equality in our United States military.
Brigadier General John Compere, US Army (Retired)
Whoa!! Hard to top Mikey's 'Hell's frozen over' assessment of this - hard to overstate the importance of - appointment in the midst of the most overtly homophobic administration ever. Reading the story from OutSmart (linked above), it's clear that Gen. Goodwin's fully qualified for the position and will very likely bring a much needed breath of fresh air to the position. One can only wonder whether her appointment isn't a gauntlet thrown down by those responsible for her appointment to an administration that's committed to second class citizenship for a whole slew of our citizens, gays in particular. Living just 35 miles down the road from her prior command, Barksdale AFB I had no idea she was in command there (one would have thought the Air Force would have chosen to highlight that fact) and I was moved by the fact that her personal quarters signage read Col. and Mrs. Goodwin. One can only hope that the AFA has equal good grace. Kudos to those responsible for her appointment and all good wishes to her & her family.
