Re: “Shit hits the fan for Meadow Muffins

THAT'S AT LEAST COMFORTING THAT IT WILL REOPEN, NEW NAME OR NOT... IT WAS THE LAST PLACE I WENT WITH MY DAD FOR LUNCH BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY, AND IT IS NICE TO SIT THERE WHERE WE SAT OCCASIONALLY...

Re: “The Godfather exposed

Well put, Bryce, about Colorado Springs sunshine management. Our BoCC closes their doors and their attorney claims 'no decisions were made'. We don't know what these politicians discuss. Some non career politicians in Pueblo should know better than to meeting behind the curtain for strategy.

Re: “Lathen, Suthers start mayoral race

The storm water taskforce deciding to collect a fee and create a fund required leadership?
And Latham isn't pro gun she is like Terry Maketa and pro political pandering. Suthers is against gay marriage and hasn't made sure Dan May is protecting El Paso County in these investigations.

Re: “Shit hits the fan for Meadow Muffins

It's sad to see it close, but it was unbearable to watch Meadow Muffins decline as it has over the past few years. Hopefully the new owner can get the smelly mess under control and we can welcome a better venue in its place.

Re: “The Drake fire, conservation, student debt, and more

Student loans can be crippling, especially if you do not find employment straight after school. Many students struggle to make their monthly repayments. Although for those that struggle with this there is always https://www.focusfinancialcorp.com/ to help.

Re: “Lathen, Suthers start mayoral race

What is known about Lathen - revealed by her strong advocacy for building a downtown stadium - is that she is not a fiscal conservative. She, along with other City Leaders, is going to get the stadium built and make us pay for it. To Lathen, it's none of our business and what we think about it is irrelevant. To promote building a stadium for tourists and think that will result in year-round economic prosperity is delusional. Millions of dollars of future sales tax revenue will go to paying the debt to build the stadium, dollars that will be unavailable to spend on essential city/county services. What then? Obviously, taxes will have to be raised. Also, based on Lathen's support of the stadium, she will likely be susceptible to other hairbrained visionary schemes concocted by City Leaders and "experts". Knowing what needs doing to attract businesses and jobs requires expertise Lathen does not possess.

An ordinance will soon be presented to the council that will give the citizens the right to vote on the stadium component of C4C. If you want your voice to be heard at the ballot box, email city council members at allcouncil@springsgov.com and tell them to vote for the ordinance.

Re: “Makepeace mulls a mayoral run

Come back to us Marylou! We need a strong moderate like you to run our city to stop all this madness and get us into the new millennium instead of these dark ages we have been forced to endure since you have been gone!!!

Re: “Local NAACP courts controversy

no you are not telling the truth. You are a radical wanting to defund public education and have vouchers for religious extremist schools ran by the likes of Klingenschmitt the exorcist. the paid members of NAACP said no and the education chair tabled it until the pros and cons could both be presented by non candidates. Tell the truth!!

Re: “Unemployment, Ferguson, Woody Allen, and the Springs jazz scene

lskyway, Learn to read. Cyrus Campbell did not say he was asking for an apology. He did not mention "the world". It is impossible to detect "whining" in the written word but you somehow think he is whining. Ending your comment with a "panty" remark places you without any doubt, in a vast group of under-educated, ill-mannered and therefore a prime candidates for work in the service industry. If I offend anyone in that industry with what I just wrote I apologize but wait until you have to work along side lskyway.
Next time you wish to be ignorant and rude, be kind enough to say it to the person's face. Realize also you added absolutely nothing of any value to this page.

Re: “See him run

LET'S TAKE IT ALL THE WAY TO THE US SUPREME COURT- Louisiana Gay Marriage Ban Upheld By Federal Judge Posted: 09/03/2014 12:51 pm

Feldman noted that his was the only federal court to uphold a gay marriage ban since the Supreme Court struck down the Defense of Marriage Act last year.

The court "hesitates with the notion that this state's choice could only be inspired by hate and intolerance," the judge wrote, holding that Louisiana "has a legitimate interest ... whether obsolete in the opinion of some, or not, in the opinion of others ... in linking children to an intact family formed by their two biological parents."

Re: “This could leave a mark

He'ill be elected as he has an R behind his name and the usual homophobic lines. Like Ted Cruz, he's a toxic type who knows what plays in Peoria and throws out a steady stream of raw meat to feed the fears and hates of the sheeple. He knows once he has people angry and/or afraid that he can control their votes and money.

The city will remain the national laughing stock, infrastructure will keep crumbling, industry will avoid our city, and preppers will buy more guns and ammo for an apocalypse they're bringing on us all every time they vote for one of these mouthy pied pipers.

religious freaks on one side, gun worshipping rednecks on the other side...

the only question is how many rational moderate people reside in the center??

go forward or continue to be the laughing stock of the country... vote and at least you have made a choice.

Re: “Local NAACP courts controversy

and again...supporting the NAACP mission means you understand that in 1860 the organization was formed after SCOTUS gave us PLessy VS Ferguson or better known as Separate but Equal which dealt with education equality. We are still fighting for equality in education so that a poor child in Mississippi gets the same math and English education as a rich kid in the Broadmoor, and here comes those kind white people saying the government shouldn't intrude. I think I heard a resounding "thanks but no thanks" from the NAACP members to your "no solution" program. Been there, done that, still living Brown VS Board of Education.

Re: “Local NAACP courts controversy

no, Ms. Null you again are trying to re-write history. The members of the local NAACP chapter were not sent the usual email, informing everyone of a special speaker or forum. So, it seems only a select group was notified. Then the tea party whackos gave out a flier with all the whacko buzz words about common core educational standards..."government intrusion" "no local control" " Home Schoolers beware." Rosemary Harris Lytle is the president of the regional NAACP and would therefore have every right to help the Vice Chair who was caught between a rock and group of idiots trying to run the meeting. And Peggy LittleTON is a member of Oath Keepers, went to the Cliven Bundy rescue meeting in Nevada with asshat Maketa, and supports that knucklehead in Ferguson who says he will shoot everyone because he is the last line of defense and obeys only laws he likes. Tell the truth or shut up.

We need a strong Independent or Libertarian in that district. We don't need extremists on either side.

Re: “And then he said ...

Thanks, Bryce, for this dandy sampler of Klingensmith quotes. As always, his words are beyond belief. If elected, one shudders at the actions he may take. One thing is certain: What voters see is what they will get with him. Perhaps deservedly so.
