Re: “Like the Balloon Classic? Better speak up

If the city didn't give all its money away with these ridiculous $50,000 back sick leave bonuses, they would have the money to do things for the tax payers whose money it is...instead of letting it be stolen by the foxes watching the hen house.

I think you missed the part about mouthwash. Or was that just more uninformed bs I smelled?

Re: “16,000 signatures for Morse recall

Indy, if you have this tape, and whoever provided it to you can show you that it was a Morse Recall 'hired' petitioner, talking to someone from District 11 who was a registered voter, why have you not shared it to support your claim?

Or are you simply regurgitating something told to you by the Morse supporters without making sure it was true?

Re: “Let's make a deal

This article is just a piece of trash. I don't know where to begin to explaing the absurdity of this article. Why don't we focus on something useful and relevant like how the tax dollars are managed in this town. I pay outragously high property taxes for what? So, my grade school children can walk over a mile to school and take a chance at getting abducted? You gonna bust my chops over a few perks I've earned over a 22 year career? These same perks help, in a small way, to encourge recruitment and retention in our great military. Would you prefer that our military was not an all volunteer force. I've thrown plenty of dollars to this local economy and others. So, pardon me if your absurdly slanted article comes across as a slap in the face. Is writting for you a profession or hobby? What don't you use your freedom of speech for something more productive? How about you do an article on how the employment prospects in this town suck?

Re: “16,000 signatures for Morse recall

If I thought overreaching gun laws would have prevented the Sandy Hook shootings, I would support them. But, limiting ammo capacity and making third parties liable for someone else's crime will not stop crazy people from killing other people. Not even Morse's fellow Dems could stomach his anti-gun legislation this year. We can't allow Sen. Morse one more year of his lunatic legislation. Time to go, Johnny Boy.

Re: “Meet the man who shot Garden of the Gods

He and many other people are lucky he wasn't out there an hour later when runners started waking up for the day, or someone in the surrounding community was taking out there dog. I'm also surprised that people are more upset that he was shooting at one of our greatest and magnificent land marks!!!!

Re: “A Green Mountain Falls 'classic' — Blue Moose Tavern — comes up short

Is GMF a DUI trap in addition to being a dump?

Re: “A Green Mountain Falls 'classic' — Blue Moose Tavern — comes up short

By some of these comments, it sounds like someone couldn't be happy anywhere. GMF is an awesome place, with some local government issues negatively impacting the local taven's business. It still is by far the best community in El Paso County to live to be able enjoy the natural surroundings with a populace of mostly great and friendly people.
A pit? You must live in one awesome place to make such a comment and since there's Tejon in your name, I am pretty certain that is far from true.
Maybe, and it seems pretty likely by your posts, you're just not a very likeable person. Don't blame GMF because you're not popular. Start with mouthwash, lower your voice some, try to engage in more pleasant conversation, and recognize that your life probably isn't anything to brag about.
Anyone else who isn't a killjoy, come to GMF, bring a designated driver and go 5 under the speed limit and enjoy a great community.

Re: “Meet the man who shot Garden of the Gods

And what could anyone have done to stop this...disarm everyone?

Right, then Obama could just roll in with the IRS and impose marshall law, and Michele could tell what were allowed to have for dinner.

The must be serving baloney, bread, and gravy for breakfast.

This group comes into a heavily Christian town and wants to sideline and silence the Christians...great community creating.

Re: “Meet the man who shot Garden of the Gods

A mistake ya... but he's lying about what he did! I would like to fix the fact that there's so much crime in this area and now a shooting???? How about walk a mile in my shoes? I don't care that he's in the military and fought for our country. We ALL contribute even if we aren't enlisted... It's the fact that he's a liar and endangered our safety!

Re: “Meet the man who shot Garden of the Gods

Give the guy a break everybody and put on your big boy pants! I don't see anyone posting that's walked a mile in his shoes. He made a mistake. Period. Go find something that can actually help our country and fix that instead of whining about something that doesn't matter.

Re: “Meet the man who shot Garden of the Gods

how many times do we need to look back at something like this, after the inevitable tragedy to come, and say "we should have known this was gonna happen", "the authorities should have done more" ??? instead all Im getting from any so called authority is "our hands are tied" "we did all we could legally do". when an unnamed high ranking police commander told me "well, we took his guns" I asked if they searched his apartment and his response was "oh yeah, we cant do that, no judge would give a warrant" like it never even occurred to him there might be untold weaponry in his apartment, and when I insisted we at least try to see if we could get a warrant, in light of the absolute writing-on-the-wall , textbook mentally-disturbed-man-shooting-guns-in-the-middle-of-the-night-in-a-residential-neighborhood, again his response was one of dismissal,"you know living on the west side that mentally ill people are out and about, we just don't have the recourses". this is not the first time I have had a cop respond to me in a negative way about "the west side" as in "what do you expect living in a neighborhood like this", so there is that stigma too, like we live in a shithole so we kind of should expect/deserve it. the army ,I feel, should be the ones to step up and pull this guy in for some counciling at the very least, and the fact that he was released on the spot to stumble home is beyond fuck belief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: “Around the horn on a downtown Springs stadium

You know what would help the overall community? Good paying jobs and a viable airport. Without those, any discussion of improving (not saying the downtown ball park idea would be an improvement) is premature.

Re: “Meet the man who shot Garden of the Gods

as a resident of the community that was awoken to this horrible sound and listened to it for over at least an hour before we felt safe, I agree with ALL of the above. I "googled" his name yesterday and found one ONE person with this name and yep, he's in the military and been arrested as the above poster said AND his FB page isn't private, stating Friday night "it's on" and a picture of his new "toy"... the gun!

http://www.justmugshots.com/kentucky/madis…

I am really angry that this is being shrugged off... he needs more than a slap on his hand! Ridiculous!

Thanks for this article... as it's exactly spot on as all of the comments are, too!!!! Ya don't grab 2 guns and go shooting at 3 am in a public place!!! Why didn't he go to somewhere more private. I am sure his shots could be heard for miles, scaring many, many people!
