Central: By around 1900, approximately 50 millionaires, some of whom had made fortunes from the gold mines in Victor and Cripple Creek, lived in the Old North End of downtown Colorado Springs. The 1200 and 1300 blocks of Wood Avenue became known in that era as Millionaires’ Row. (Zodiac)
