Anti–fracking demonstrators capture attention outside Colorado Springs City Hall on Dec. 11. Later that day, Councilors voted to delay a final vote on the city's controversial proposed oil and gas ordinance, which would approve drilling within city limits, including residential areas, until February.

  • El Paso County commissioners "make every effort" to fly in and out of Colorado Springs Airport, but don't always do that if there is a "substantial difference in costs," according to county spokesman Dave Rose. He adds the county takes into account additional expenses associated with transportation to and from and parking charges at Denver International Airport when making travel arrangements. He did not say how often commissioners use the local airport.
