    Several months ago the city's daily newspaper rewarded Rich Tosches, its most popular writer (who also happened to offer up criticism to the city's rich and powerful), by demoting him. Tosches has since left, and after a roundabout fashion has decided the Independent -- which isn't afraid to take on the rich and powerful -- is his true home.
